It happened to me tens of years ago, that my husband went on a walk with our children and before earnestly had asked me to be not in our home anymore when they would come back.
A wife would have few options ... depending on the mental constitution at this time ... depending on her fear of her future ... depending on the behavior (character) of the husband ...

So sad to see Elisa's thread updated to "found deceased" :tears: I sort of knew all along that this would not be a good outcome but I was hoping there was some way she was still alive and able to come back to her children. RIP Elisa :rose:

I do think this was a case of suicide.
I do think the neighbour was aware of her unhappiness and might have tried to make sure she was not going to do anything drastic on Saturday night.
I think early on Sunday morning Elisa made her choice and perhaps even texted her husband before turning off her phone.
This would have made him speed back to the coast very early in the day the way he did and it would also explain the heresy account of him telling the kids to stay in the car.
The continuation of the investigation is probably to thoroughly eliminate other possible scenarios such as a 'hired hit' to look like suicide or an accidental fall/medical condition causing death.

The authorities have not said (sorry) how much of the body was found. They said they are doing an autopsy but if say, they only found an arm, that didn't show much, I would expect them to then say "not suspicious at this time" until they have waited to see if any more remains show up. If Susan was shot in the head and the head was missing, would they be able to tell from just finding a leg of arm. Sorry to be so graphic and insensitivity.

Condolences to Family and Friends
Rest in Peace Elisa :rose:

Tragic ending to this case. Thoughts and prayers to Elisa’s family, especially her children.

The use of the words ‘not at this stage’ and the suggestion in newspaper articles to call crime stoppers if you have information is interesting. That’s only happened since some remains were found, right?

TGY...Are you still totally convinced (as you were right from the start) that DC murdered his wife? That makes me feel very sad!

..........:rose: R.I.P Elisa :rose:..........

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and loved ones, especially to the 3 beautiful children who no longer have their Mum. *advertiser censored*

I would like to know why they don't think it's suspicious, but are continuing the investigation.

‘Stage 2 of process

Court Registry

In a case management meeting, the coroner determines

  1. whether death was due to natural causes, or
  2. whether further information is required – in which case, the court’s Registry will:
continue family contact, carry out directions from the coroner in relation to the investigation, such as request a Victoria Police member to compile a brief of evidence which may include reports, statements and process requests from family members and other individuals and organisations.

One neighbour told police Mrs Curry had prepared for bed about 10pm, after the two had spoken of a personal matter. That conversation has formed part of the police investigation.
An economist before becoming a full-time mother, Mrs Curry had been battling personal problems.
But friends said she had seemed "in good spirits" the night before she disappeared.

I understand the Coroner's process, but thanks anyway.

As the Police Investigation is ongoing, I doubt the Coroner and the Court's Registry are involved to this extent at this time.

I wonder if something concerning was brought up with the neighbour and then elisa has brushed it off. Maybe even told the neighbour she was feeling better now for the chat and looking forward to something in the future. That could explain the neighbour thinking she was left in an upbeat mood.

*possible upsetting content below*
I was searching for how police might determine suicide vs accident and in my Google results was quite a few links to forums such as reddit. People were asking how could someone stage a suicide to look like an accident because they didn't want to upset their friends/family. I dont personally understand this logic, but i guess in their heads if they died from an accident their family wouldn't be as upset? Maybe kids in particular? Ive been thinkinh that maybe EC left a suicide note but maybe it was a note to suggest she was out for a run to cover up a suicide?

This from Peter Seel just the day before remains were found.

Victoria Police Inspector Peter Seel, who's been leading the search, fears that ultimately, it may fall upon a coroner to determine the truth about her fate.

"We haven't arrived to any conclusion as to what may have happened. We are looking at all aspects, from suicide to accident to all the possibilities," Inspector Seel told Fairfax Media on Tuesday.

"But ultimately, if Elisa is not found, it will be up to a coroner to decide what they think occurred."

Do you think they would be able to determine a blood alcohol level? Im actually not sure what it would indicate anyway - i dont think it would rule much out or in

I think they would and I guess it would be a factor in putting the pieces together.

Fly high Elisa:rose:

Condolences to your family, friends and loved ones. Thinking of your doggie as well:beagle:
