Oh gawd, I was sure it was Xie molesting her and forcing her to stand by him. She would definitely know that he did the murders imo. Maybe she is a witness for the prosecution? Just making guesses, lol.

Yeah until we hear it we're only guessing, but her silence leading up to trial does worry me .. Let's hope you're right and she is going to bring up more against her uncle .. I don't think I could take it if it is the other way around ..

Will be watching this closely ! Thank you to all re-tweeting and keeping us up to speed.

Cheers

Mr Tedeschi said forensics investigators later had found a “smear” of blood under furniture in the garage that contained the blood of “three, four or five” of the murdered family members.

He said DNA testing had established it was 50 quadrillion times more likely some of the blood found came from Terry Lin than any other person. It was 2.2 billion times more likely some of the blood came from Henry Lin than from another Asian person.

In a police interview after the murder, Mr Xie said he had cleaned his garage that morning because it was messy. “I have a little bit of a clean-up for the floor of the garage because it was a little bit dirty,” he told police then.

The jury yesterday was told some victims were killed with a ¬“hammer-like” object, while ¬others appeared to have been smothered.

As if he hadn't hurt her enough hey? That poor girl.

Again, the state allowing her to move in with him after the crime was a terrible decision, she would have been better off with her grandparents.

Hmmm … quality hammer then. Too bad the head didn’t fly off and hit him in the head on the first swing.

Mr Tedeschi said that, in the 12 months before the alleged murders, which took place in the early hours of July 18, 2009, Mr Xie "groomed" a young female relative, who cannot be identified for legal reasons.

Mr Tedeschi said Mr Xie twice engaged in "inappropriate sexual behaviour" with the relative, which indicates he had a "clear sexual interest" in her.

Soon after the killings, Mr Xie allegedly began sexual abusing her on a regular basis, Mr Tedeschi said.

The female physically resisted the assaults but was overpowered by Mr Xie's superior strength.

:(

During his time on remand at Long Bay jail, Mr Xie allegedly struck up a friendship with another prisoner, known for legal reasons as Witness A.

Witness A will testify that Mr Xie told him he felt "great resentment" towards his parents-in-law because they preferred Mr Lin, when in fact he [Mr Xie] was the better investor.

The third motive was financial, Mr Tedeschi said. After the killings there was a six-month "wrestle" between Yang Fei Lin and Feng Qing Zhu on one side and Mr Xie and Kathy on the other for control of Mr Lin's assets.

Eventually Kathy gained control of the newsagency but ran it poorly and the business was sold for just $40,000.
