TIMELINE OF QUEENSLAND SCHOOLGIRL JAYDE KENDALL'S MURDER

2015

THURSDAY, August 13

12:19 - Brenden Bennetts, 18, uses his phone to search for "best way to dispose of a body" on YouTube.

12:54 - Bennetts tells Dilian Gilmore via Facebook: "Death, such a weird concept". He says 10 minutes later: ""Have you ever lost anyone? I haven't but I have never understood (it). Guess I'll know soon."

16:00 - Bennetts arrives at McDonald's where Jayde Kendall works to pick up his friend Matthew Ross. Bennetts and Jayde are seen speaking in the dining room.

21:55 - Jayde and Bennetts exchange messages on Snapchat. They send a total 48 images. Only one has been recovered by police.

FRIDAY, August 14

06:48 - Final Snapchat message between Jayde and Bennetts.

11:32 - Bennetts texts Jayde: "Not long to go now". She says: "Im nervous". He replies: "I'm sure the nerver (sic) will go once things heat up".

15:19 - Jayde texts Bennetts: "Idk (I don't know) where you are".

15:20 - Bennetts texts Jayde: "Along the back fence on the top overall. Near the building red (car)." Jayde is seen walking across the oval of Lockyer District High School towards Highview Ave.

15:25 - Bennetts' car is captured on CCTV driving on Gatton Helidon Rd away from town.

15:58 - Bennetts texts himself Jayde's bank account PIN.

17:47 - Bennetts is captured on CCTV withdrawing $70 from Jayde's account from a Commonwealth Bank ATM on Railway St in Gatton.

17:52 - Jayde's phone transmits for the final time to a cell tower in the township. It has never been found.

19:03 - Bennetts arrives at his girlfriend's house in Slacks Creek, south of Brisbane.

20:50 - Jayde's father arrives at McDonald's to collect his daughter, four hours after her shift started, but she's not there. He reports her missing to police.

SATURDAY, August 15

- Bennetts tells Ms Gilmore he is "trying to forget" something and "sleep my troubles away". He says it has nothing to do with his girlfriend.

TUESDAY, August 18

- Jayde's wallet is found near a guardrail on the Warrego Hwy near Walloon by a pensioner. He reports it to police the next day after seeing her missing person story on the news.

16:07 - Homicide detective Murray O'Connell calls Bennetts, the last person known to have texted Jayde. Bennetts claims he has not seen or spoken to Jayde recently.

22:50 - Bennetts gives a formal statement at Gatton police station. When confronted with evidence he withdrew money from Jayde's bank account, he tells detectives she asked him for a lift out of town as a favour. He consents to officers taking his car, DNA, fingerprints and clothing he wore on August 14.

WEDNESDAY, August 19

17:14 - Police execute a search warrant on the Lockyer Waters property where Bennetts lives with his parents.

20:40 - Bennetts interviewed by police again at Gatton station. He claims Jayde gave him her PIN to withdraw money, then he dropped her off near the Windmill Markets.

FRIDAY, August 21

- Bennetts is arrested for Jayde's murder but released without charge after a covert police operation at the watch house fails to elicit any more evidence. (His interview with police was not played to the jury at trial as it was deemed inadmissible).

THURSDAY, August 27

- Retiree Don Tate calls police upon discovering a body just off the unsealed Allens Rd on his Upper Tenthill property. Police confirm it is Jayde. Her remains are too decomposed to determine a cause of death.

- Bennetts is charged with murder.

2017

MONDAY, September 4

THURSDAY, September 14

Glad he's convicted of murder.

Wouldn't be an easy thing to live with what he told the girl in England. Pretty much confessed he was going to kill someone.

What a weak not even having the guts to take the stand in court. That's a pretty big admission of guilt there. If you accidentally killed someone from "misadventure" in a sex act... Wouldn't you take the stand to explain what happened, why you reacted the way you did and give one HELL OF AN APOLOGY to her family and friends for your behaviour and what you put them thru?

No remorse. He will never change.

JAYDE REMEMBERED AS BEAUTIFUL AND TRUSTING

'Slain Queensland schoolgirl Jayde Kendall has been remembered as a beautiful, hard working young woman whose trusting nature may have been her downfall.'

'Outside court father Bruce Morrissey, who raised Jayde alone after her mother died when she was seven, said his beautiful daughter's death was a "senseless waste".

"She was just kind and sweet in nature and she was very trusting," Mr Morrissey said.

"That could have been part of her downfall, being naive and trusting."'

'Grandfather Denis Morrissey told the court on Thursday his family was serving a life sentence not being able to watch Jayde grow into a gorgeous and thoughtful young woman focused on her bright future.

"To know we can never have these times again tears our heart out," he said.'

[h=1]Dad's warning after Jayde's killer jailed[/h]The father of murdered schoolgirl Jayde Kendall has warned the parole board to "think about your own children" when considering releasing her killer Brenden Bennetts in the future.
Bennetts was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday after a jury took just four hours to reach a guilty verdict for murder.

"Your ability to calmly detach from events around you is alarming and concerning as is your calculated web of lies and deception," Justice Lyons said.
"You showed no respect for her body after death, just as you had shown no respect for her in the last moments of her life."
Justice Lyons' comments were echoed outside court by Jayde's father Bruce Morrissey who sent a message to the parole board who may one day decide to release Bennetts back into the community.
"Think about those that you love and care about around you and then ask yourself would you feel safe, him being around your daughters, your children," Mr Morrissey said.

Crucial evidence uncovered at 11th hour

'Damning evidence that revealed Brenden Bennetts searched online for "best way to dispose of a body" the day before he killed schoolgirl Jayde Kendall was only unearthed the day his murder trial began.

The last-minute find meant the YouTube search was almost kept from the Brisbane Supreme Court jury, which convicted the 21-year-old of murder on Thursday afternoon.'

'It can now be revealed crucial evidence showing Bennetts may have premeditated Jayde's death was only discovered on the first day of his trial.

Police computer analyst Neil Robertson was reviewing his report into data gleaned from Bennetts' Samsung handset on September 4 when he came across a previously unnoticed YouTube search.

It showed Bennetts had searched for "best way to dispose of a body" at 12.19pm on August 13, 2015 - the day before he killed Jayde.'

'Defence barrister Michael Copley QC failed in a bid to have the new evidence kept from the jury, arguing there was no way to know what, if any, search results Bennetts actually looked at.

But prosecutor Vicki Loury QC said it did not matter what results Bennetts received or watched, just the fact he had made the search at that point in time.

The new evidence drastically changed the course of the trial as it led to Justice Ann Lyons also allowing previously inadmissible Facebook conversations between Bennetts and Dillan Gilmore in England to be read to the jury.'

Thank god they found that! I strongly believe those two pieces of evidence were what made the jury convict him of murder. (the search for 'how to dispose of a body' and the Facebook conversation where he says he'll know soon what it's like to lose someone)

Ahh beautiful Jayde, it is justice, not enough by far but something.

There ended up being far too much evidence stacked up against him for him NOT to be convicted of murder.

His search on YouTube. His conversation with the friend in England. Continuously changing his story as more evidence was presented to him. His locations caught on his mobile phone. Admitting to killing her by manslaughter but never taking the stand in court.

Withdrawing money from her bank account. Geez. Its horrible to imagine how he threatened her to get her pin number.

Yet, still murdered her.

He picked a vunerable girl. A easy target.

Showed no remorse. I hope he is never let out.

AYDE Kendall's grandfather Denis Morrissey voiced his thanks to the schoolgirl's hometown on Monday.

After her killer's trial in Brisbane concluded, he asked for residents' consideration in the aftermath of Bennetts' sentencing.

"We wanted to thank the community for their ongoing support throughout the last two years," he said.

"There are two families hurting in our community for different reasons; ours and Bennetts'.

"We wanted to share our thoughts, prayers and compassion with his parents, siblings and grandparents because it's not their fault.

"They didn't do anything wrong, and we don't want to see them vilified."

Mr Morrissey said his family could not have asked for anything more than what the judge and jury handed down last week.

‘Brenden Bennetts is appealing against his life sentence and conviction for the murder of Queensland schoolgirl Jayde Kendall.

Bennetts was last month found guilty by a Supreme Court jury of killing 16-year-old Jayde and dumping her body in a field on the outskirts of Gatton in August 2015.

The 21-year-old lodged an appeal against his conviction and sentence on Wednesday. ’

He does have the right to appeal. He also has the right to study Law and Psychology and lots of things while he is incarcerated.
He will have lots to keep him busy.

I have emailed Daily Mail Australia and reported the ‘factual inaccuracy’ of Jayde being the ‘teenage wife’ of the perpetrator.
