This is just SO sad for Mt Isa as a town - to lose two young men in these circumstances would have a massive impact, I'm sure.

And I see the young guy who suicided has a partner who found him:

"The family of the 21-year-old man, who was found dead in “non-suspicious circumstances’’ by his female partner in their Skewes St home on Wednesday, declined to comment"

The poor woman  Am sending much love to everyone involved :please:

So, it sounds as though police have been told that Kyle made it back to Mt Isa, went to the house on Skewes Street in Mt Isa, then set off for his 3km trek back to his own house in Parkside. I wonder why his friend didn't drop him off at home. (I think it was his deceased friend who lived on Skewes St?)

This would be about a 30min walk, according to Google.

Not sure if the police 100% believe that is what happened though, by the way that they have been searching the route from the party at Undilla Station to Mt Isa.

"He visited a property out near Camooweal and has come back into town, so he has travelled back into Mount Isa," he said.

And yes, it was his deceased friend who lived in Skewes St.

I wonder if anyone else can confirm that he even made it to Skewes St?

Good point! It's all too much :( it's just looking worse and worse... Could be horseplay gone wrong? Misadventure?

Wow ... the party was about 190 km away from Mt Isa! (Only a bunny-hop away in outback terms though.)

That is a lot of area for the police to search.

Haha reminds me of my younger years when you'd drive 150kms just to get maccas... May have been to cruise for boys too though ;) I grew up in south west NSW, so it's not even remote!

But yes up there, 190kms is nothing!

I hope that there are answers real soon!

The friend's death can't be a coincidence...

I do hope Kyle's alive somewhere. Teenagers are great at disappearing, but not great at staying invisible.. If he's alive he'll show up sooner or later, and this is what I'm praying for.

I can't help wondering if there was an overdose involved. In one or both cases..

Yes, I was wondering if he did in fact make it to Skewes Street at all?

And if LE were told that he did make it to Skewes ST, was that by his (now-deceased) friend? I wonder if there were other witnesses who placed him there? I wonder if the deceased friend's girlfriend was present and saw him?

Many unanswered questions in this case.........

To me IMO the deceased friend was the last to see him, just going by this report. . Or am I reading it all wrong?
Also with the party who else was there or did they party by themselves?

He told police they had gone camping and hunting on Undilla Station, 100km northeast of Camooweal, before returning to Mount Isa last Friday night.

Kyle had partied until about 6am before leaving to walk 3km back to his home, he said. His swag and backpack are also missing :dunno:

Okay ... now this is interesting, and different from the 1st impressions I got.

The hunting and camping trip was out near Camooweal. But Kyle apparently partied at a 'suburban home' (Skewes St) till 6am on the day/night he went missing. No party at Camooweal.

Now did he party inside the Skewes St home, where the deceased person's girlfriend may have seen or heard him? Or did he party in the back yard/shed/garage of the home, where the girlfriend may not have seen/heard him - if the friend and Kyle supposedly arrived back in Mt Isa while she was sleeping?

(ETA: Snap Amee ... just saw your post and link)

SA minds think alike haha

I was thinking of what my kids used to say about partying at so and so's house and it was only 2 or 3 of them there. Thats why Im thinking it wasnt a BIG party with lots of people there. IMO

Yes I think the deceased friend was the last to see him. But did they return to the Skewes St house to party with others before the deceased friend say walks Kyle to the door/ has a chat with him outside before he walks away. That would be a lot different to those 2 being alone all night or even since they left for the hunt. I wish we know what time someone other than the deceased friend saw him.

'Helping police in the search' can be a euphemism for 'being repeatedly questioned as his story is not adding up, or the police think he knows more than he is telling' ..

Definitely. I didn't get that impression initially but if that wasn't the case police probably would have said that he hadn't been questioned.

Police find body of missing Mount Isa teenager's friend

A 21-year-old man found dead in Soldiers Hill this morning was a friend of missing teenager Kyle Coleman and had helped police with their search efforts prior to his death.

Police were alerted to the death at a Skewes Street address at 11.40am this morning.

They said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Information released by Police on Sunday stated Kyle Coleman was last seen leaving a Skewes Street address last Saturday.

Police wouldn’t confirm whether it was the same address where they found his deceased friend today.
