A woman in the public gallery cheered as Gittany was sentenced. As he was taken down to the cells she shouted "off the balcony you go".

it would be extremely unusual for that sentence , from a judge only trial, to win a successful appeal on it's length.. it would require a demonstrably huge error in Judge McCallums summing up and weighting given to the aggravating factors... damned if I can see one.

Wonder if her no show was orchestrated by channel 7 so they can film her as she hears the verdict. Can't think of any other reason except maybe his barrister told him to keep her away as she wasn't helping him one bit. JMOO

I hope he plays up in prison so much he gets the full 26, or better .. his appeal backfires and he gets 25 - life. Either way he's inside forever, and his girlfriend can hopefully see the light.

That's worrying IMHO. The emotional reaction is probably brewing on the inside. He's finally be made accountable for his actions! This might be a new experience for him.

maybe the 'amazing' romance is well and truly over...!!;; has to be said.. Rachel didn't do Simon any favours and certainly, from the sentence , she did him a huge dis service... but Simon just had to show off his capacity for persuading women to fawn over him.. he couldn't resist it, so he can think about that for 26 years... he will be 66, 67 then... ha!...
