I feel it was convenient to blame poor Margarets “vivacious personality “ and “lifestyle “ .... it’s typical of the morality brigade to focus on her popularity with men. I can’t speak with any authority as I obviously never met her , however I’m pretty sure she was a normal divorced young woman enjoying life . Hardly a reason to focus on the many men she had friendships with. They did the same with Susanne and Susan in the easy street murders. Loose morals - ffs - give me strength!

@ediethedog I don't understand P.C. Plod's focus on Margaret's lovers when it's obvious from the evidence that Seana was the man's target and they should be looking for paedophiles.

thats right ..... I wonder why that wasn't the first thing investigated......so much time was lost and now here we are , still with it unsolved.

I would offer an explanation.. Back in the 80s, society and police included, were not so keenly aware of paedophilia. What is an obvious red flag now, might not be so back then.

Is there any cold case investigation on this case, I can't recall? But it should be a great idea to have some fresh pair of eyes.

There was a tv show a few years ago that offered a million dollar reward for several unsolved cases and the Tapp case was featured on that. Amazing publicity and I believe it generated a phone call or two. From memory they haven't publicly said if it resulted in useful information going forward. I thought that it was a brilliant idea, however......hopefully the police got new info. They need to go to the pub and grill all the oldies there. As stupid as it sounds, from what I have heard there are people that know much more than they ever said at the time. I was told ( don't know if it's reliable) that they weren't interviewed in 1984. I find that almost impossible to believe , as the first thing police usually would do would be door knock neighbours.

I'm not that religious but i hope Satan/Old Scratch's punishment for the killer will be to, say turn him into a replica of young Seana Tapp and have him relive Seana's last night from her perspective for all eternity. The focus on Margaret's lovers was a bungling. I think the killer - in his own mind - was in love with Seana and decided to turn that into reality.

Yeah, like I said, it was discovered that quite a few adult men and teenage boys were interested in having sex with Seana Lee Tapp. I've noted this elsewhere but Seana's middle name is interesting because its often seen as Lee (boy) and Leigh (girl) by many people, like Jo (girl) and Joe (boy) (which is why Jo in The Faraway Tree is now Joe in reprints)
