Would it be impossible or unlikely to just toss someone off the bridge and into the water below? I have no point of reference for how visible that would be, just was thinking that if the bridge is out in the middle of nowhere then someone could just stop in the middle of the night and do that I would think...

It wouldn't be impossible, especially late at night. In the aerial shot below you can see that there are houses on the southern side of the bridge and none on the northern side. The riverbank on each side and at each end of the bridge is not that steep. There is also a boat launching area to the left of the bridge in the aerial shot.

Talking about bodies thrown from bridges etc. reminds me so much of the Allison Baden-Clay case. it gives me chills!

Thanks fir the info about the storms.

GGE even though the searched the river in dom areas, it is a huge river system and it would only have been a tiny part of it overall.

I've always thought she is in the river. I think saying so was one of my first posts in this thread.

Looks like his sons have deserted him. As you would. I can't imagine why a schoolteacher would want a sawn off, I'm wondering if it was because he's such a weedy individual, maybe having sawn offs around made him feel like a tough guy? The only reason to have a sawn off really is for armed robberies, or carrying concealed for other reasons, it is possible he had connections to outlaw motorcycle gangs, perhaps as a sort of hanger on? It does make you wonder if he held Sharon at gunpoint that night. Also renovations on her house? Wonder what he was covering up?

I heard on the radio yesterday (ABC) that both houses had been declared crime scenes.

If they don't find the body, then they will need either a confession or a lot of evidence. I hope the cadaver dogs have helped.

I still find it strange that he admitted to having those guns and now he has to attend the police station three days per week as he is on bail. He was charged with six firearm offences but out on bail until the court hearing on July 6 in Grafton.

I wonder how much their sons know about him and their parents' relationship. It looks as if Sharon lived a double life - married as far as her family and friends were concerned but wanting to be separated/living apart.

Mrs Edwards lived in the recently purchased Grafton home, which Mr Edwards began painting grey — a colour he said she chose. Mr Edwards spent most of his time at the Lawrence property out of town.

If she knew he had guns, she would have been scared of him.

I wonder whether they have found any evidence on the electronic equipment which was removed from the house by investigators.

I thought he'd confess early when this story was fresh, but I'm starting to think he wont because he'll never admit guilt to his sons.

Section 36 of the Firearms Act provides: "A person must not sell, purchase, possess or use a firearm that is not registered."

The maximum penalty for a "unregistered firearms" charge is 10 years imprisonment if the firearm is a prohibited firearm or pistol, or 5 years imprisonment in any other case.

In NSW, a court can impose any of the following penalties for an unregistered firearm charge.

Jail;
Home detention;
Intensive correction order;
Suspended sentence;
Community service order (CSO);
Good behaviour bond;
Fine;
Section 10: unregistered firearm proven but dismissed.

The weapons included

1. an Orava brand .22 calibre bolt action rifle with shortened barrel

2. a Stirling brand .22 calibre semi-automatic rifle with shortened barrel

3. a Bentley 12-guage pump action shotgun

4. a Winchester 12-guage pump action shotgun

plus

5. possession of ammunition without a permit.

My prediction is that he will wait to see how much evidence the police find first. He may also admit guilt in July especially if he is sent to jail for the six firearm offences. But I agree he will never admit guilt to his sons who must be utterly shocked about what the police have told them unless they know more about his past than we are privy to and were not surprised.

April 22

Coffs/Clarence crime manager Detective Inspector Darren Jameson said police teams also searched a number of remote locations between Grafton and Lawrence yesterday with the assistance of a cadaver dog and blood detection dog from the State Protection Group dog squad, and police divers.

These locations included sections of the Clarence River, creek beds and fields - areas identified based on inquiries and the investigation thus far.

Me too Makara. The parallels are astonishing.

To also think Allison's house WAS grey and THEN painted yellow. Now that's a coincidence!

A THIRD property has been marked a crime scene in the case of missing Grafton Sharon Edwards.

The property on Tanglewood Road at Lawrence is being scoured for evidence by detectives, dogs, divers and SES crews.

There are no houses on the property and is large bushland with a number of dams.

Neighbours have confirmed the property belongs to Mr and Mrs Edwards.

Thanks for this Amee. Tanglewood Drive is about a 20 minute drive from JE's house in Lawrence. I've been leaning towards Sharon being dumped in the Clarence River but this bush property (with three dams) would also be an ideal place to conceal a body. Gawd I hope Sharon is found soon.

A number of dams.

Lots of things can be disposed of in dams. I hope the divers are starting with the deepest ones.

I must have missed a bit! Sorry! Just wondering do we know the boys have been given a bit of a heads up about their father? Do we know what was said? I actually think when John spoke to the media it seemed as though the boys were uncomfortable with their father... But maybe that's just my perception. Wonder if they knew about the guns....

Just thinking .... What if the only thing that went to Lawrence was her handbag/phone. If the reason she is considered to have gone to LAWRENCE is the phone ping I don't think that's evidence she sent. That means the phone did. I'll be surprised if she was ever alive and in Lawrence that night. I don't think she made it that far ... But the phone did. Imo

Yes RainbowsMagic......I wonder if the boys knew about the guns? And did the boys know about all the property that JE and SE owned. I wonder what sort of stuff JE did with his sons. I mean we hear Sharon LOVES her little granddaughter and is totally involved here - and she is very active in the boys lives, loves her job at thw school with the kids, but not so much info on how JE interacted in this family....
Those guns worry me, I think there have been enough TV shows that have depicted how to prevent the echo of a shot-gun - but apart from aiming water pistol quite badly - I have no idea about guns.
Just quietly, I think those cadaver dogs got a huge hit at the Lawrence residence of JE and so now the search of related areas.

I had mentiond before that this for some reason makes me think of how Israel Keyes made his own homemade gun silencer. I just felt compelled to look that information up again on google, and was a little disturbed to find he made it out of PVC piping (commonly used in plumbing and available at pretty much any home improvement store). FWIW.

( link regarding Israel Keyes homemade silencer made of PVC parts - http://archive.burlingtonfreepress....chorage-Texas-Arizona-serial-killer-Ted-Bundy -
"Also in his bag is a homemade silencer, which is illegal simply to possess, to say nothing about carrying it across the country on an airplane. But Keyes has disassembled the silencer into its PVC piping parts, and it raises no red flags with screeners." )
