I wonder why he touched her car to begin with? Why not just leave it at the school?
How many times does it get reported in missing persons news stories that their cars were just found sitting at the person's last known location...
But if he drove - well, someone obviously did - her car to wherever and then to that paddock, they're leaving their DNA in that car and just messing it all up more! Or am i missing something?

And what is at Stanbridge?? That is even further away than the car was found, and I think it is further away than the laptop was found too.

About a dozen people from the Leeton Volunteer Rescue Association have joined the wide-scale search, along with SES personnel who have been seen to have placed forsensic markers at a vineyard at Stanbridge.

Thanks for that link, Possumheart.
So, as it's been reported, I guess we can discuss it then - as in, statements made about the family's movements?
No mention ever of the father, correct?
Sounds like they spent many years in Holland, if the boys are now speaking English with a Dutch accent.
Pleading with their mother to return to Australia? Wonder why they left Australia to begin with?
Something obviously wasn't going too well in the Netherlands.
And, so they come out to Leeton of all places, and I see I'm not the only person on here who thinks that's a bit of an odd destination to settle in. For cleaning work. They come out here with nothing but what they can carry, so to speak...
Almost sounds like they've fled one place, then the next...
So, sounds like they all wanted to leave HOlland, but one of the twins doesn't stay with the rest of the fam; goes to Adelaide. Wonder what happened there.
I agree with whoever mentioned that it sounds like VS wanted to make a new start here ... but just totally stuffed it up!

... and, the irony is .... now they'll have to move again!

One problem I see with the theory I posted is that, the pictures of her body don't line up with it being an accidental death. It seems to me that for someone to be so careless and stupid as to leave photos of the body on a camera in his car, they must have believed they were going to get away with the crime, and wanted to keep the image as a trophy. The fact he took the picture and kept it suggests to me that he may have been planning to assault/kill her/someone for a while.

I had this exact conversation with someone. They suggested he was stealing from the school, she stumbled across him in the act, he killed her in a panic... But then we agreed that it's hard to fit photos of a burnt body into that scenario. Trophy taking is not a feature of a panicked killing to conceal another crime, as I understand it.

Committing a crime in the Netherlands is a serious matter: http://www.expatica.com/nl/about/Crime-and-the-legal-system-in-the-Netherlands_104004.html
Individuals who commit minor offences, such as public drunkenness or traffic offences do not need to go to court and do not incur a criminal record.
For more serious offences where there is a criminal record the data will be held for at least 30 years. If the punishment awarded lasts longer than 3 years the period of record is extended by the duration of the penalty, while for sentences of eight years or more the period is extended by 10 years. For sexual offenses, the data is deleted only 20 years after the offender is deceased
.

You are also unable to work in certain positions if you have a criminal record in the Netherlands.and here we have Australia's open arms policy https://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/residents/return-documents.htm
If you are an Australiancitizen you have an automatic right of entry to Australia and need only present a current Australian passport on your arrival

#BREAKING: Police investigating the murder of #Leeton high school teacher #StephanieScott have found a body in bushland north of Griffith

Found in National Park - 5:30 tonight -- Cocoparra National Park. My heart goes out to all involved.

I'm still confused about the family background, the twins were born in Tasmania. However I'm assuming the mother was actually Dutch as the article posted by Angeline above says she had to do English Language training in Canberra. Even after 20 years abroad, a native English speaker doesn't lose that do they. So are they expats or was she a Dutch woman who had kids while visiting Australia? This probably isn't important but I too am curious about their decision to move to Leeton of all places.
