Aron, I am getting curious about the nature of a predator. I can understand issues surrounding "the other things"... But what would the predator be after.....
What is any predator after? I can't answer that question. I do hope I'm wrong and that Theo is found safe and well. It's a large area with a lot of bushland and ocean. Shark attacks aren't unusual up there, but this case seems unusual to me.
Primarily, predators operate on an Id (hedonistic-pleasure) principle and their motives and drives aren't something I have an insight into. I study the human mind, but because of a bad grasp of the mathematical language, I could not study criminology and psychology but do study some subjects of psychology in my counselling degree.
So the nature of a predator will manifest in different forms, for different reasons, for different needs. Most have trouble controlling their compulsions and their life becomes unbearable if they don't act on their fantasies. So what a predator is after is personal satisfaction, power, and control through dominance.
Please if anyone knows more and thinks I'm off track, correct me, but from my observations studies and readings, this is what I understand of the predator mind.
