I would think be too much work for him his age with his own lawns as well. I would say especially with house up for sale after FGM husband passing would be contracted, even could have been organized by real estate agent when the house was being listed.

From memory, I think that we saw a riding lawn mower in FGMs carport in an old pic.
Most anyone could use one of those. And most blokes (and some ladies) enjoy riding around on them.

Thanks, musso. Sounds like The Australian has been reading here. :D

"has taken secret prison testimony from a man"

Whatever happened to 'according to police sources' or 'according to prison sources' or 'according to court documents'?
As a member said before, it is unfortunate that we now have to wonder what the source of this kind of info is - if it is a legitimate source.

Sometimes I wonder if SFR are communicating with LH and CO for tactical reasons.

It is always CO seeming to have this new information before anyone else does and detailed information from inquest.

I just wonder.

Putting trust in a journo is a huge risk, a really big risk. But what if some of it is tactical? Just like the podcast.

Who knows where they get the info from, I just hope that it is in fact fact.

My last go with a ride on mower ended in tears.

But thats what happens when you treat it like quad bike and run over a tree stump 30cm off the ground :)

I remember others questioning things in past threads when articles stated 'according to police sources' with no specific officer named. It seems to be getting even worse now, with no source at all stated.

Murder mystery link to William Tyrrell case

He we go!

Now the dots are connecting!

The inquiry into the disappearance of William Tyrrell has taken secret prison testimony from a man who twice stood trial for the murder of a 17-year-old girl.

Frank Abbott, 78, was accused of raping and killing Helen Mary Harrison, whose body was found in a shallow grave near East Kurrajong, northwest of Sydney, on March 23, 1968.

The Australian understands Abbott has been convicted of child molestation, and he recently complained to fellow prisoners about being linked to William’s disappearance. He was quizzed about his knowledge of the crime when the inquest travelled to Taree last month.

Abbott was living rough in 2014, and police responded to his testimony by conducting a rapid search of an old sawmill near where he once made his home.

Thanks MOP .....
is there any more to the article???
Seriously considering the need to take up a subscription for the Australian....

Maybe he is the new “fall guy” for what is really happening behind the scenes as he can’t fight back while in jail..,,??

Or else they are really putting pressure on him???

I have also wondered if this was released purely as he was on the witness list to take “the heat” off the investigation into the FFC photos???

Very interesting that they are relating the latest search directly to his testimony ,.... where is the direct evidence for that statement.....???
Don’t get me wrong I’m not suggesting it’s incorrect..,, but who from the Police said that was the case???

Was he a closed court witness or did they interview him in jail???? And if it is the latter then who leaking the information?

Or did journalist visit him in jail and do interview with him????

AMOO...., but still happy that the case is staying in the media... more chance of finding William..

No, there is not much more to the article. And yes, it would be more credible info if a source was cited.

The article then just goes into the murder trial years ago. Twice tried for the murder. First time, hung jury. Second time, acquitted. Said he was with his parents at home when the murder happened.

It was 25 years after the murder that it finally went to trial. Both of his parents had died, so his corroborating witnesses were not available.

He confessed to the murder to two women in 1977, and a fellow prisoner later on (my note: evidently in prison for something, even then). He said those people just wanted the $5,000 reward. Also, some police documents had been lost or destroyed by the time he went to trial for the murder.

it was posted earlier today along with the cute dog on the road,i think page 25 or so,ill go look
They're images from Google Maps street view of a property in Herons Creek Road. It's sheer conjecture that any of the searching happened there. No connection has been established between that property with its blue car and FA.

Bit of a conflict between 10News Daily and The Australian, isn't there?

10News in the above linked video "Abbott will appear at the inquest (from prison)"

The Australian in today's article "has taken secret prison testimony from a man who twice stood trial for the murder of a 17-year-old girl. "

Both items published after the inquest was postponed.

Hi
I’m new to the site but have been following this case with great sadness for lil William from the beginning almost and have been reading all comments on this website for thoughts and ideas... just a thought from me has there been anymore news on PS brother in law and why he wasn’t on the list for the August inquest? I take pics along the way of people n pages n posts that I feel are maybe pieces to this puzzling case and looking at the only pic i could find of FA which was the one of him leaving the court back in 1994 with his hand trying to cover his face and then looking at the pic of the brother in law of PS entering the court back in March inquest and then comparing the 2 pics maybe I’ve gone mad looking into this too much but i see a strong resemblance between the 2 men
And how is it Right that these low-life predators continue to be protected by anomoumity rules. IMO it should be 'publish the offender'; that doesn't necessitate naming victims.

Victims of abuse live with it forever. Know them; See how it plays out, their daily struggles for self-esteem & worthiness, the destruction of potential & often the ending of their life.

Why would any right minded person think that their perpretators are entitled to be 'protected' ???

Where's the validation for the Victims ?

Who decreed such a f{#%{d up legislation I'd like to know, and I'd like to meet with ..

My parting comment as I get off my soap box - things must change. Otherwise bring on Armageddon !

Hi Deefind. As Gregory Newton appeared at the March sitting of the inquest, he probably wasn't needed any more. imo

Gregory Newton then took the stand, a tall man with a full head of white hair, who resembled country singer, Charlie Rich.

Mr Newton’s brother-in-law and late sister lived directly across from the house where William vanished.
Mr Craddock asked him about where his brother-in-law was standing on Benaroon Drive before the two men joined in a line search.

He told us that Mr Newton’s son played for the Coffs Harbour Snappers rugby union team, and that he was staying in Kendall with his sister to see the boy play.
After walking Mr Newton through a line search, a barking dog and, yes, the thickness of lantana, Mr Craddock quipped, “I think the Snappers lost?”
“They did,” Mr Newtown replied and chuckled, along with others in the court.

Inside the divided inquest into the three-year-old’s disappearance

Welcome to the thread! PS's BIL's testimony was given at the March (1st tranche) inquest, so he had no reason to appear again.

Ok great thank you... how about the photos I mentioned in my post? To me I def see a resemblance however it could just very well be my deteriorating eyesight .... I briefed myself on the t&cs of this forum so I’m not quite sure if it’s ok for me to post the pic I’m referring to?
Thanx heaps

My apologies I just read your entire reply.. only looked at part of it when I made my last comment.. just figuring out how this all works lol.. so thank you for clearing that up for me

I agree, It is the victims that suffer forever.

I wonder if citing mental health issues is one reason to remain anonymous?

Nothing found of that snip from DT for either yesterday or WED

Thanks for looking. How strange. Maybe they put the article up then pulled it? I couldn't locate it on Press Reader either, even though Google said it was there.

Or maybe DT adjust their articles for different states. Not sure what state you are in, but perhaps it was only in NSW editions. The post looked like it was a photo from a newspaper.

or

No need to apologise. I added to my post later, to include the MSM info about Mr Newton's physical appearance.
