God this search is giving me less hope by the day .. they came out all guns blazing a week ago and it seems to be ending in a fizzer. If this comes to nothing it's their last horrah IMO, they will have an uphill battle getting funding for future searches as ministers etc will need a lot of convincing.
Patience is what is needed. This search event is so intricate in nature it requires extreme care not to disturb anything or cause any further damage if something is discovered, and not to leave anything behind. It is very very difficult searching for very small items such as an infants' teeth and smaller bones and fragments in water laden soil. an even higher level of difficulty if the soil is a clay profile. Natural minerals and hummus in the soil stain human skeletal objects making such very difficult to observe. It is a painstaking process. IMO from information provided by a friend who has undertaken many archaeological digs and surveys in European war fields and Egypt.
