The court minutes from 3/24/22: the defense filed a motion which addressed the fact that both the defense and state are investigating a claim that Alissa is alive and living in Connecticut. Holy hell. Holy.HELL. We don't know if MT claimed she was alive in CT or a tip came in or the state uncovered something in their investigation, but THAT'S A BIG DEAL. A year has passed and the trial for murder is still on, so the investigation must have amounted to nothing, but it's worth noting. Poor girl. Where are you Alissa?

Can you help me find the minutes for other dates? It looks like there were court things going on in Jan & Feb of this year.

Jury selection is underway for the high-profile murder trial we've been waiting years for - the 2001 disappearance and death of Alissa Turney in Paradise Valley, AZ. Her own stepfather, Michael Turney, is charged with her murder. This case is full of bizarre secret tapes and recordings, but an arrest may never have been made without Alissa's little sister creating a powerful podcast and using TikTok to try and solve her sister's homicide.

PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Jury selection started Monday in the high-profile trial for the murder of Alissa Turney. The Paradise Valley teen disappeared in May 2001, and Alissa’s sister began a podcast and TikTok page to help try and solve her sister’s case. Finally, 19 years later, an arrest was made in 2020.

It’s not often we see “no body” murder trials because they’re hard to prove. Alissa’s remains were never found, but there is a mountain of circumstantial evidence the state has against her stepfather Michael Turney. The jury being selected Monday and Tuesday will decide his fate.

The court said they should have the jury selected by Tuesday. As of now, the trial is slated to begin on July 6.
