Hah! I found it! Ambercat located Seasons brand jeans in Canada. We later found they were available in at least some parts of the US. They occasionally show up on EBay clothing sales: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Womens-Seas...-tags-With-Matching-Jean-Jacket-/111990084609

I think "Seasons" may be a brand of jeans from Toronto, Canada. They are listed on the Canadian Apparel Federation's website, yet I have to be a member to read their profile.

The Doe Network rejected the potential match as Stacy Arras based on the dental information. Kind of disappointed, but not overly surprised.

Should we revisit the possibility that she died from an infection again? Early newspaper accounts claim the autopsy was inconclusive, but later they determined she had been suffocated to death. Is there a 1% chance she died of an infection?

We appear to be left with 4 solutions to the big question:

#1. She was a hitchhiker and died of an infection. The trucker(s) disposed of the body.
#2. She was a hitchhiker and was murdered. Since she wasn't raped, it's hard to think of a motivation.
#3. She was traveling with her father/relative and died of an infection.
#4. She was traveling with her father/relative and was murdered. Motivation may have been annoyance with her.

#1 and #4 have been discussed here before. #2 is hard to explain with what we know. #3 doesn't make any sense.

I considered the possibility that the older and younger males may not have been working together, but may have simply known each other and happened to be at the diner at the same time. It would be a long shot, but it's entirely possible. While I'm not an expert on the truck driving culture in 1982, I do doubt that a white man born in the 1920s and a younger black man would be friends.

Three people traveling in one semi would have been very crowded. Could the 60 year old white male and the younger black male have been driving separate semi trucks? And if one of them murdered her, what reason would the other have to keep silent about it?

Could the brand of jeans be "Four Seasons" instead of "Seasons"? I found an article about a line of clothing that became popular called "Four Seasons" and also read that many shopping malls had clothing stores who sold their own line of "designer " jeans, like Merry Go Round and Rave, which were very popular in the 80's. Kids would have considered those "designer".

if she was related to the guy she was with, domestic violence
if she was an older guy's young wife or girlfriend, a "rit of fealous jage," to borrow a line from the Pink Panther.

she had some money or jewelry on her and was robbed and murdered for her possessions
she tried to rob the driver and he killed her and threw her out
she was killed by accident during rough sex
she was a working girl, and after she left the men at the diner, she took up with another client and he killed her for any of those reasons

they were involved in drug traffic or other crime and she was killed for any of the reasons criminals kill each other: knew too much, cheated, snitched, etc.

I think she's a viable candidate, she did disappear about a year - ish before VS was found, maybe she was travelling with a trucker and in the few weeks leading up to her death and discovery, she had been taken to a dentist in a nearby state and had her tooth drilled for an emergency root canal? But before she could complete the procedure, she had upset him in some way and was killed while in AZ?

This is my first time finding a possible match for a UID.

Good statistics, but I don't think it's her. According to her Charley Project page, she was likely abducted and murdered on the same day in 1980. This unsub was last seen alive by witnesses in February of 1982.

It says DNA is available for her. Assuming it was submitted to CODIS, and it likely was, then it didn't match Valentine Sally's.

Eleanor C. Parker. She fits the description and recon very well, but her circumstances don't necessarily make sense. If she was abducted, then she could have been travelling with her abductor until her death. I can't find a ruleout list for VS, but Paker's DNA is available according to NamUs.

Any thoughts?

The chances of her being Durst are probably close to zero.

Parker sure has the look (see attached, click to enlarge), and I don't see anything to confirm that she was murdered or even abducted. She could have walked away from her life; people do it all the time. But since she has DNA in the system, it's likely a ruleout by default.

Definitely not Kathleen. It's been well established that her husband Robert Durst killed her the day she disappeared. In addition, she's over the age limit. But I think Eleanor Parker is possible.

To me, that stop to cash the check might indicate she was planning to leave but didn't want to leave any obvious signs. But it might also mean somebody followed her and robbed and murdered her.

She was on the eastbound side of the highway. The Doe Page indicates that she was found 11 miles west of Williams, AZ. It also says that she was previously at the Monte Carlo Truckstop in Ash Fork (which is West of the point where she was found).

Also, the detective told me that they were heading toward Flagstaff, and that they actually detained a suspect in Flagstaff who was a trucker that fit the description of the perp, and he had a wife that was blonde and very attractive and fit Valentine Sally's description, but they located the wife and she was very much alive.


Note: I revised the Google Earth views, because I found out that point A (i.e., the Monte Carlo Truck Stop) is at exit 149, which is only 2.2 miles west of where the body was found.

I can see a few likely scenarios - I don't think he should have been ruled out if his wife was alive (who knows what kind of relationship they have behind closed doors).
I also wanted to mention that it may also be possible for her to have been with a ride at the cafe, and then dropped off and picked up by someone else... or picked back up by creepy guy. I agree with you that it seems odd - but if I were the investigator I would go back to the witness and show her some of the potential unsolved missing women and ask if any of those is a match?
Did this suspect have any particular qualities that stood out? Any personality traits?
And again, it may even be just a coincidence this guy's wife looks like the victim - but maybe it was just him and his wife at the cafe and she never saw the victim to begin with?

Really I know my main goal is put a name on this poor victim and bring her low life murder's to justice and I don't care who do it.. Just as long as justice is served on this case, I hope this is your main goal too...

She matches with CHarlotte Kinsey from Oklahoman last seen on I-40 with royal russel long. IF YOu look on charley project you will see that even wears a cowboy hat ex description as witness have at the stop. HE has a long record.

Charlotte Kinsey has been ruled out according to NAMUS. She was also a little too young to be VS. She was also 5 feet tall when last seen in 1981 and VS was 5 feet 5 inches tall.
