OK the language of this post is giving off different vibes than the one that suggesting the accident had been "staged".

Staged made me think maybe DR crashed the jeep on purpose but without him in it. Although why is a mystery, doesn't really make sense.

But the description here could just as easily have been someone "yahoo-ing" around with an abandoned crashed but still mobile vehicle they found. Whether that yahoo encountered/hurt DR or whether DR was nowhere around when the Jeep was found.

It adds possibilities to the scenario but not all good or all bad. Just more complex.

If the yahoo was just messing with an abandoned vehicle, I hope they come forward. And there should have been tire tracks other than the Jeep's. MOO
The read I'm getting from comments about the jeep having been started so many times after the air bags were deployed is that it is thought to be some reason to suspect someone of maybe wrecking the jeep initially in an attempt to get it eventually wrecked in a different manner which better suited their (possibly) devious intended & planned "staged" accident.
I'm not sure though why we shouldn't think that perhaps Daniel wasn't just initially out for a drive in the desert - possibly in an attempt to relax a bit - and maybe had an initial accident where the air bags deployed. ...but one from which he was able to drive away from. (Possibly after needing several attempts to finally get the jeep started.) And perhaps he drove away in a somewhat injured state even. And then at some point after that, he had this final accident. The final accident may have even happened due to him being in a somewhat impaired state.
I'm just not sure that I'm ready to jump straight to suspicion about the accident scene where his jeep was found being one that was "staged". ...at least not from what I've heard so far. Perhaps there's more info though that I haven't seen yet?

Considering the possibility that Daniel was carjacked and the Jeep taken on a joyride in the desert with at least one impact event. Where Daniel is remains a mystery.

Was the quarry in operation and staffed during the time Daniel went missing?

All depends on if injured, and without getting too snarky, I don't think you understand the terrain we in the search parties are dealing with.
I just wanted to clarify that I'm not blaming search parties. I think everyone is doing a great job. Its just frustrating knowing that he may be down there and people aren't able to see him.

I personally cannot wrap my head around this new information!! This latest update is something I did not see coming. :(

So according to the expert who looked at Daniel’s vehicle closely, along with the location it was found, and the accident data...he states it looks as if the accident was staged.
•accident occurred (1pm) 4 hrs after he was last seen
•vehicle was started more than 40 times (46 to be exact) after the airbags were deployed
•vehicle traveled an additional 11 miles after the airbags were deployed

Possible theories of what all this means??

•What was going on during the 4 hours before Daniel’s vehicle crashed?
•Was Daniel even the one who crashed the vehicle?
•It was driven 11 miles after it wrecked, but it’s not likely that means 11 “straight” miles...so it’s not like you can go out 11 miles in all directions from where the vehicle was found to find the initial crash site!
•Where do you go from here in trying to find Daniel?!

The whole situation, just everything is devastating. Prayers for answers! Where are you Daniel? :(

Search For Daniel – Please help look for Daniel Robinson

The 8th search for Daniel was scheduled for today, Sat., Aug. 28 (5:45am-10am). I’m praying for an update. ❤️

Here’s some specifics on what today’s search was planned to look like:

Line/Grid Search Overview – Search For Daniel

Line/Grid Search Overview

On August 28th, 2021, a different search is occurring. Everyone needs to pay attention and be prepared… both physically and mentally.

First and foremost… be healthy. Drink and bring lots of water. Wear a hat / sunscreen/ etc. Have your cell and radio fully charged and other protection.

For this search, you will be ‘close’ to each other; arm’s length. For those who want, masks are available and recommended.

You will NOT be allowed to TOUCH anything you see or find suspicious. GLOVES are provided and a tapping stick is recommended to help ‘touch’ anything you need.

Basically, you will be walking, in groups of 14, roughly 7 feet apart, sweeping a 100′ foot wide swatch of property

EITHER between Daniel’s vehicle recovery spot and a tree where K-9’s identifed human scent… not necessarily Daniel’s.

OR further down behind that tree, along the river beds….still in groups and following the procedure.

The Disappearance of Daniel Robinson

DISAPPEARANCE:
•Daniel was last seen around 9:15am on June 23, 2021.
•He’d been working at a site near Sun Valley Parkway and Cactus Road, near the Hassayampa River and west of the White Tank Mountains, testing groundwater.
•He drove away from the site without telling anyone where he was going.
•That evening, a missing persons report was filed.

SEARCH:
•Investigators with the Buckeye Police Department spoke with Daniel’s friends and family to gather information about him and where he may have gone.
•Some time before his disappearance, LE learned Daniel was acting a little withdrawn, but friends and family shared that he’d seemed back to normal by the time he went missing.
•Searches were conducted and local hospitals were checked
•LE obtained cellphone and financial information
•Family created a website dedicated to the search, and have organized their own searches.
•Daniel’s Jeep was discovered by a cattle rancher on July 20, 2021.
•It was approximately four miles southwest of where he was last seen, and appeared to have rolled 20 feet down into a ravine.
•The airbags had been deployed, and it was determined via the vehicle’s “black box” type recorder that he’d been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
•The driver’s side window was smashed and the front windshield cracked.
•His personal belongings were found at the scene, including his clothes, cellphone, wallet and keys.
•The clothes were found three feet from the vehicle, including his boots and safety vest.
•The investigators didn’t conduct any forensic work on the Jeep, so the family hired a team to analyze it. After they are finished, they will then look at his computer and cellphone.
•The family has announced their personal investigation has moved from a missing persons to a criminal investigation.
•However, the Buckeye Police Department do not suspect foul play in Daniel’s disappearance, based on the information found in his Jeep.
•His father disagrees and has shared that he feels investigators are just looking to wrap the case up.
•There is currently a $10,000 reward being offered by the family for information leading to Daniel’s return.

CASE CONTACT INFORMATION:
Daniel Cornelius Robinson was last seen leaving a worksite near Sun Valley Parkway and Cactus Road in Buckeye, Maricopa County, Arizona on June 23, 2021. He was 24 years old, and what he was last wearing is unknown. At the time of his disappearance, he stood at 5’8″ and weighed between 150 and 165 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and he’s missing a portion of his right arm, starting at the forearm.

Currently, the case is classified as a missing persons investigation. If alive, Daniel would still be 24 years old.

Those with information regarding the case are asked to contact the Buckeye Police Department at 623-349-6400 or 623-523-0234. Tips can also be called in directly to his family ay 803-200-7994 or submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 1-888-274-6372.

I’m curious to how LE feels now based on the new findings from the private company Daniel’s father hired? Do they still believe “no foul play”? Do they considered the case suspicious?

I can’t help but think what if the family never hired this company? What if the analysis of Daniel’s Jeep and the collision was never conducted? ...all that information may have never been known...

the vehicle was started 46 times after the airbags deployed? and traveled 11 miles with deployed airbags?

46 times?

I have a hard time believing this.

I suspect most of those were starting attempts, not successful starts. Like turn the key and it cranks a few times but doesn't catch, or it catches but then soon stalls out.

It also could mean the jeep was somewhere with traction issues, like in a ditch, and if the person attempting to drive it wasn't fluent with a clutch (assuming the vehicle was stick shift) then stalling out multiple times could easily occur.

(Cancel that idea if we know it was an automatic, as I know manual transmissions are less common these days.)

IIRC, Jeep stopped offering a manual transmission after the 1999 model year. I am a woman who prefers to shift for herself, and check this when vehicle shopping.

His clothes and boots were there? So strange. He definitely could have hit his head, not be thinking straight, but out in the middle of nowhere, cars wrecked, his clothes, shoes, phone etc are there, but he is nowhere to be found.

I would say maybe he walked to try to get help, succumbed to the heat/dehydration, and animals drug him somewhere, but he had no shoes (unless he had another pair in the truck).

Thanks, oh well, so much for that idea.

I'm with you, and I discovered how rare it was when I went to buy a new Toyota pickup back in 2017. I practically had to order it custom in order to get manual transmission.

What's with all these acronyms?!? DBM means what? Newbies are feeling like newbies and its never fun to ask a question that 92% of readers are going to think is stupid. :);)
Thanks.

I agree. But I also wonder if there's any chance that data could be corrupt. IIRC, the recon expert stated that they generally only expect to see 1 or 2 restart attempts logged after an accident and that is because the act of hooking up to the box to download the info will register as a restart event. Admittedly, I am not familiar with the mechanism or how the hookup ports work but that sounds to me like any time power is applied to the box, it logs an engine start event. And that seems less than reliable to me in a vehicle that's just been in an accident where the vehicle had had a strong enough front end impact to cartwheel it one time and come to rest on the driver's side. I could picture a scenario where that type of impact could result in a short that continued to log engine start events as the box detected power surges. I'd be curious to hear what LE, other reconstruction specialists, or even the manufacturer had to say about that data. Similarly, I'd like to hear if there could be some other explanations for how those 11 miles appeared to have been logged after the air bags deployed.

Adding quote from @JJ Ray from back on post 176 on page 9 where he described how the accident appeared to have occurred:
It appears that he climbed the hill could not then negotiate a turn the the left which sent his car down an embankment. The front end dug in and more than likely "cartwheeled" (one rotation) on to the drivers side at the bottom (they had a photo from the police).
