Sorry to nit pick but I noticed this and it's a slight qualification: He said "we were told that"...both parents were at home when they went to bed...etc.

Yea I picked up on that too, interesting remark.

I do not see how Sergio having no contact with the sons would help if there was some sort of external threat of payback. They could be hurt just as easily while they live with their mother. Becky is out and about and could be found.

I agree. I think LE/CPS believe Sergio himself is the threat to the boys' welfare, but how and why?

Well, we also got confirmation that RC is, indeed, the boys' mother. but then, we had already figured that out here.

They are playing this very close to the vest for a reason, I am starting to think there is a ton more here than meets the eye.

I've never seen a case that hasn't been played "close to the vest." Have you? There's always more than meets the eye. LE hasn't been sitting around playing checkers for the last several weeks.

In FL there are Sunshine laws that legally allow the release of certain documents as a case proceeds, but I've never seen LE share details of their investigation other than to say the cursory "we're doing everything, following up on everything" type of statements.

Total hesitation/careful wording "we were told... "

I believe they have huge pieces of the puzzle. Not the actual perp it seems, but a clear trail. They appear to be stalled out, and I am not sure whether it's across the border or another jurisdictional matter... but that's only my sense.

I am not getting the vibe that Sergio is a threat to the kids out of any of this, I know I have argued the case over and over and some of you believe that to be the case and I may be wrong but it seems there is another reason, what it may be I have no idea.

Chief Villasenor and the Tucson PD sure have done a great deal to try to find Isabel. I like the way he handled the Presser. I did find it strange he gave us all the name of the person to contact with questions. Is anyone really going to contact Tasha Peterson at CPS to question her?

Am I the only one who thought he worded his response "oddly" to the question of the parents both being there that night? When asked if both parents stayed in the home that night, I would have thought he would have just said "yes", but he didn't.

Just me?

:)

No, not actually. It is just police jargon. They always say 'that is what we have been told' because they werent there.

Didnt find anything strange about what he said though.

IMO

Wonder how much CPS will share, he gave the spokesperson´s contact info to the media, I would assume there would not be much they could share, but if he gave the contact info that seems to infer that more info might be available.

Well, I suppose his confirmation that they`re still looking at the family and have 5 officers assigned to specifically look at that angle is some new news.

Ugh... Vinnie is also reporting the boys as Isa's 1/2 brothers. MSM really needs to fact check better.

Yeah, this kind of nonsense really irritates me. All it takes is some 3rd grade math skills to figure out that the boys belong to both SC and BC, and a minimal amount of research. Media seems so laid back (to put it nicely) nowadays about checking facts. It's frustrating.

Absolutely. I imagine the media is calling her as we post. She may come out and make a statement bur will not divulge any of the particulars.

He gave her name and number because they are not involved in the CPS argreement.

IMO

OMG....I wouldn`t want to be her right now.

I got the feeling they want everyone to know that they did not zero in on parents at once, they are doing everything they are supposed to do, following all leads, checking out all RSO's, etc...but personally I get the impression the clues are not leading them away from the home. JMO

That is true, what I mean is that I dont think they are as in the dark as some of these comments suggest, on the surface these pressers leave a lot of people feeling as if no progress has been made and I think they very much know exactly what happened and are just stalling to build their legal case.

Unfortunately, I'm sure people will. I also believe I know this woman from my nephew's case a few years back. If the same person, I shudder.

I don't get that vibe either. Somebody in Sergio's "circle" of friends, family, acquantances? I don't know.

What do you take from all of this Prof?

I don't know. Give me some extra time? :P It does seem like LE is playing games here. The statements made in this presser seem conflicting, at best.
On one hand, he's reiterating everything he has said previously, and stressing that they are investigating all angles equally, and then, come question-time, he puts an ever so slight squeeze on the family.
I am going to have to rewatch this presser.

Overall, I think it really did not give us any new information at all...
