At this point I think we have us a Triple Crown winner, that is just a flat out WARRIOR of a horse!

I hope so but 11 times that has been said since 1978 (i think that was the last triple crown winner - around then anyway)

I have a question. This might be different in different places but if CPS shows up and asks to come in do you have to let them? Do they need a warrant?
I think people allow it because they are scared....

I know that the automatic thought is that if CPS has been to someones house....there must be something wrong there....

Um, hold up pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Did the sister say that as truth or what? I don't want to misunderstand what's being stated.

She read that statement in front of the crowd at the vigil at the same time she told the crowd about that CPS. wasn't at Sergio's home in December. (not sure about the exact wording)

The link has been posted numerous times in the last thread from the vigil.

I also have no clue if she is being truthful or not.

ETA: Lukasiewicz said she wanted to clarify two points. The first was that Sergio had never directly communicated with Child Protective Services prior to last Thursday.

I believe it is called "hearsay". ;). But why would she spin anything?

In Florida I believe you do not have to let them inside, but you should talk to them. Also, talk to a lawyer before signing any "case plan".

Thank you, Patty G! And isn't that a direct contradiction to LE's statement that CPS had been to the home prior, with the last of those visits in December?

IMO, but the sister is not credible.

Years ago when I was going through my divorce I had CPS called on me. CPS went to the schools, pulled each child out of class, and talked to them. Then they did a home visit which was when I was informed of the allegation. The CPS worker said my 5 children all had a high self esteem, were well taken care of, and the charges were NOT substantiated. Case filed away(not closed because one was never opened).

What happened? My ex took the children every other weekend. I went out of town while he had the kids and he got sick so he decided to bring the kids home. Since I was not home he left my children with a neighbor who had a mentally challenged male living in their home. This male told one of my daughters that he thought she was pretty. The comment made her uncomfortable and she told her paternal grandmother, who in turn called CPS and alleged that I was 'allowing my daughter to be molested'. Not a pleasant experience. Made me want the divorce even more. lol

BTW I did not send CPS after him for leaving the kids with the neighbor.

Holy Carpola! CPS coming to check out the clothing not matching the weather when the temp is in the high 60's? I am beginning to think Arizona is a very unusual place.

And then we see so often in other states very serious neglect and abuse and CPS does nothing to have the child(ren) removed from the parent(s).

:maddening:

OT: My horse didn't do diddly-squat :blushing: Geez, I couldn't even find #5 in the pack after the first few seconds of the race :D It's exciting to know that there could be a Triple Crown Winner for the first time since Affirmed in 1978 :woohoo:

Whenever the major horse races are on, I find myself humming and/or singing my favorite racing song. For your listening pleasure:

When the sister read a statement last night, she stated that when Sergio was going to court that day that people were stating "animal abuse".

Sorry... I should have prefaced my post with "as a local, I have not heard any (local) chatter... " . I know about the sister's statement. I also know how words can be chosen either poorly or with great precision; depending on the speaker, circumstances, background, intent, etc., etc.

IMO/JMO/and all that...

I think the December incident has been way overblown. It may not have even concerned Sergio since he wasnt even spoken to until May of this year. Even LE came out and said it was a MINOR incident and had nothing to do with Isa.

I dont have any reason to believe his sister wouldnt be truthful about something that can be verified. I dont find her biased just because she is his sister but I do think she would really know what happened.

IMO

I may have missed a briefing/press report. Can you please provide a link to the source stating it was a minor incident and that Sergio did not speak with CPS until May? Thanks.

Reminds me. Still no word that the Celis family has a lawyer, or lawyers. My take is that they are being stubborn with the attitude that we saw BC show with the statement "bring it on" about the accusations in her televised interview. One of the reasons I think they may not be guilty is that they are acting, in my mind, innocent. Acting pissed off and stubborn, thinking sooner or later the truth will come out and that they don't need to prove their innocence to anyone. JMHO. (which translates to Just My HUMBLE Opinion, even though the websleuths lingo translates it as HONEST. )

Maybe because A) she doesn't truly understand things/terms/procedures, or B) she feels that her brother is being unfairly targeted by LE and apparently some folks near the court house... therefore is embellishing or misspeaking out of frustration.

I dunno. LOL.

You do not have to let CPS inside if they show up at your home without a warrant. If you don't show CPS that your kids are there in your home and healthy (parade the kids behind you so CPS can see them), CPS can and frequently does come back with a court order and takes the children. Call the police when CPS shows up so an officer can verify that the children were there and alive. CPS in my state (PA) has been known to be deceptive to get a court order to remove children.

Schedule a visit with the CPS worker to come inside only after your home is immaculate and all liquor, guns, medicines, broken electrical outlet covers, and ect... have been removed (regardless of the age of your children). In my county, lunch dishes in the sink can be written into CPS's report as "a completely filthy residence endangering the children".

CPS doesn't need a warrant to come into public schools and talk to children WITHOUT the parent's permission. CPS cannot enter private property to examine children without a warrant or unless the resident lets CPS inside.

I completely understand a sister defending her brother. What I do not understand is her statements being repeated as factual rather than the opinions of a relative of one of the POIs in the case.

I only questioned that what she said was being posted as fact and asked if she were the only source for these rumors. Apparently asking for actual proof is not allowed. JMO

MOO

Sounds very similar to some high profile cases here in the UK involving Social Services.

MOO, but this case has come to a frustratingly grinding halt for two reasons:

1, LE ain't saying (or have) nothing
And
2, The parents can't or won't say anything.

From a investigation point of view, it seems to be going in the same direction as the Sky/Baby Lisa cases......:banghead:

OHHHH yes it is, if we can't have some factual info then all of this is of no use. That's why I asked the question about the sister saying that CPS hadn't been there in Dec, I wanted to make absoloutly certain I didn't get that wrong, or read it wrong.
