I don't know? Rings true to me but I'm a horrible judge!

Thank you! I'm not at home or on my iphone so I can't listen to it now, but I'm glad you found it because I was looking all over last night and just couldn't find it.

And IKWYM, it is so hard to judge these things.

Good news on the reward!!!

Looks like the added a facebook page to the article about the reward. I can't get on to facebook right now, but here it is: www.facebook.com/find.jahessye

(for some reason I can't get it to come up like a link, I'm hitting the icon and its just not working for me)

I'm going to try and get out there this evening, so I'll see if I can take some pictures.

Sounds real to me, too. I listened to the first few minutes yesterday before the full call was released, and even then I thought she sounded genuine. I can really sense her grief/fear... :(

JMHO

(I had previously pointed the finger at mom but now I'm not sure. And if she's innocent, then I feel bad for her that she may have been trying to get her life in order and then all of a sudden her daughter is gone and her past is aired for the whole world to see.)

I think she's being truthful. It's almost as if, during the course of the phone call, the reality of the situation begins to hit Jerice. Towards the end she seems to be starting to panic.

I am so frightened for Jahessye.

I was reading your description and then looked at a map. I may be missing something, but if she was on the south side of Glendale Ave, wouldn't the eastbound traffic be on the south side lanes? Just trying to get a 'picture' of this - thanks!

traffic on the southside of Glendale would be eastbound
traffic on the northside of Glendale would be westbound

Yup, that's right. For Jayhessye to be walking with traffic going east she would have need to be on the southside of Glendale, and since she would have been coming from south of Glendale, she would have been on the right side of the road.

Thank you! I didn't go by her apartments because I didn't have the exact address with me. So when I got back from the area and then looked at the map I got it mixed up. I just went to walk through it again in my mind and I started out again with her coming from the wrong direction. I grew up north of Glendale and now I'm south Glendale, some how I am very insistent in my mind that I'm orientated in the same way.

I'm going to delete my post, darn. I knew I must of had it wrong because someone else hadn't thought of it, so I checked it and checked it... I just wasn't starting out on the correct side of Glendale.

Thanks for checking that out, maps aren't my thing, I'm going to remember that next time I think I've got a brilliant idea about them....

My prayers are with you baby girl...........Please be safe.

Going back to the 911 call, I do believe the mother sounds sincere. However, there was one bit I'm unsure of -- when she stumbled with her words about where she had been. That happened twice. Anyone else notice that?

I noticed that too and thought she was either surprised by the question, didn't really hear it, or didn't expect it and was fearful to answer. jmo

I agree she sounds sincere, think I'm gonna sit back and see how this plays out. I was initially prejudiced when I read the court docs from 2006, I thought oh boy, here we go again. Not so sure now ... In the 911 call it sounds like Hunter is multi-tasking big time. Talking to kids/people who are around her and even sounds like she has another phone and is talking to her Mom at the same time as 911. I'm gonna let that word fumble slide for now.

Hold on Jahessye, we have a whole lot of people looking for you little one.

Prayers for Jahessye.....please be found soon baby girl.

I dont put too much stock in 911 calls anymore. :-(

I keep coming back hoping and praying this little angel has been found safe. My prayers are with you Jahessye wherever you are. You are loved by many.

Johnson admits finding her missing 5-year-old granddaughter isn't even her biggest concern.
“My main concern is my three grandkids in foster care and trying to get them back,” Johnson said.
Earlier this week, CPS took Jhessye's three siblings out of the home.
“They said one kid is not eating, the other kids are just distraught,” Johnson said.
“CPS took the kids and said they were in danger,” Johnson explained.
Johnson said CPS won't give her any specific details. But, ABC15 uncovered court documents that show Jhessye's mother has a criminal history that includes child abuse.
Police won't comment on the subject of Jhessye’s siblings, which could be a reason Johnson said she decided to call a special meeting with the Glendale Chief of Police, City Manager, and Mayor Elaine Scruggs.
“She has resources that I can't even tap into,” Johnson said.
Johnson told ABC15 the police have botched the investigation from the beginning and she blames one thing.
“It's her race and it isn't their child and she doesn't have blue eyes and blonde hair,” Johnson said.
Glendale Police Officer Tracey Breeden said that's absolutely not true.
“We reassured her the number one priority of the Glendale Police Department is the disappearance of Jhessye,” Breeden said.
Police said they no longer think the little girl wandered out of her home.
On Wednesday, they upped the reward to $11,000 dollars. That’s on top of the $5,000 dollar reward offered by Jhessye’s grandmother.

"I want the national media to pick it up. I won't stop until they do. I don't know why it's not national now," said Shirley Johnson, Jhessye's grandmother. "They have that ability to send out to other states. They have that ability to make sure someone from across the nation (knows) what is going on."

Retired Phoenix police sergeant and child advocate Paul Penzone said he has also noticed the distinct lack of national coverage.

"I don't know what's missing or why, but in our community this is a big deal. We'd hope it would get national media in hopes of getting a successful recovery," said Penzone.

I completely agree!!!!!:maddening::maddening::maddening:

Jahessey Shockley's been missing for nearly nine days, and there hasn't been a peep about her disappearance in the national media -- and her family wants to know why.

We've been a little curious ourselves, considering the cable news channels have been dwelling on the disappearance of Lisa Irwin, a 10-month-old Kansas City girl who disappeared from her home on October 4.

As police continued to investigate, the girl's grandmother, Shirley Johnson, met with Mayor Elaine Scruggs, City Manager Ed Beasley and Police Chief Steve Conrad. She had previously said not enough was being done to find Jahessye and that the search should be expanded. The grandmother has been vocal throughout the past week.

Jahessye's mother, Jerice Hunter, is eight months pregnant.

Late Wednesday, Scruggs told The Republic the meeting had gone well.

"She (Johnson) needed to express her feelings, her concerns, her questions and talk about a lot of things," the mayor said. "At the end, she said she really felt better and was happy to have the meeting."

Scruggs said she was glad to provide support in the wake of Jahessye's disappearance. She said Chief Conrad was able to explain how police are conducting their investigation and which agencies are involved.
