There are many pictures I've seen of beautiful Jhessye, showing a lovely, happy, smiling little child. I am so sad for her loss, but am glad that she had those years with Lisa Vance and her family. That was when she was happy. What a disgrace that she was returned to that monster, Jerice, when she was loved and growing up so nicely in the heart of a family who wanted her and truly loved her.

I know Jhessye is in a happy place now, but how sad that she is lost to the family who loved her, a life cut short by that monster.

I hope her other children can heal and recover from the horror thay surely witnessed.

For Jerice-I don't even have words to describe what I wish for her.

Yes! What a great couple of days for justice! :) I can't wait to find out what evidence they have.

I still and always will feel that no punishment for Jerice can offset what she did to Jhessye and her other children.
Jerice - You are evil in the shape of a human, but bearing the soul of the devil. Same goes for your evil mother. It's a shame your mama isn't in a cell too.

I hope a new thread can be started a new with headline. Don't want anyone to miss the good news about Jerice the jailbird.

I added her name to the thread...

*Jerice Arrested* and put a big ole exclamation point on it too... ;-)

What a beautiful post. Thank you. :tyou:

When I see those beautiful photos of the precious, glowing little girl I can see how much she was loved. She had so much life and light in her eyes. And it kills me to think how she felt to be suddenly forced into her 'mother's' clutches like that. But as you pointed out, at least she knew love and knew what it was like to be cherished and cared for. For that I am thankful. :rose:

FYI Grandma Shirley (I call her that for identification purposes only, not because she has acted the part) posted on a public forum that CPS was trying to put the other siblings up for adoption and wouldn't allow her to take them "home" to California with her.

I don't think I can link to her comment, because it includes the full names of the minor siblings. She claims that CPS has harmed the children mentally and physically more than they had ever been harmed before in their lives. Ummm, no, Shirley, I don't think so. :(

If CPS really is trying to adopt out the kids, I say "good for CPS." :) But I wonder if they are looking at other relatives (e.g. the cousins) and/or if they are making efforts to find a single adoptive home for all the siblings.

I wonder if the family member who had Jhessye and treated her so well and loved her would step up to the plate for the other kids....

Do we know if Jerice has given birth to the last baby yet??

I have been so terribly busy at work and at home with my own little ones, but I just HAD to stop in here to say "Whoohoo"!! Justice for our little butterfly!! I cannot begin to tell you the goosebumps I had when I read the news yesterday that Jerice was arrested. I tip my hat and give a standing ovation to LE in this case!! They have been just simply amazing!

I found the comment, sitting on my fingers :banghead:

Hoping someone can answer this question. If welfare benefits were being received in California, could one also apply in Arizona and receive them there simultaneously? Is there some kind of inter-state database to prevent this?

If someone does manage it, they can, and probably will, be charged with fraud. If they're convicted, in addition to jail time and fines, they won't be able to receive benefits in the future. I'm not sure if it's forever or just a number of years. I think the only way the states would know about it would be if the person said they had moved from the other state (and the new one would check with the welfare system in the old state of residence), if someone turned them in, or if they were dumb enough to discuss it with a reporter or something. There may be a Federal database now, but I know there wasn't several years ago.

I cannot find anything that says when she is due with this next child. It was in a link above that in March 2012 that she was pregnant again. She does not appear to be pregnant in the video, but that's just hard to tell, for me anyway, due to her beetle juice stripe suit, but she supposedly is. Her last baby was born in Oct. 2011, but was taken by the state right after the birth.

I doubt that there is a federal database. If there were, children would become trackable by their SS numbers which have been required upon birth. It would prevent double-dipping and false claims by cheats cashing in on children to receive state/federal funds. I think it was this very case that prompted me to wished for this universal database to become a tool to track children. Some of these children may have been reported "missing" but no connection has been made by the department that issues those checks. There has to come a point when some of the "rights to privacy" is forfeited when an adult collects substantial aid to dependent children.

When I saw that Jerice had been arrested....I couldn't even post for a few days.

On the day of her arrest, before I was even aware that it had taken place, I was looking out of my office window. There's a nice, peaceful view of a farm and some rolling hills, and it is a big stress reliever for me to just gaze out at it for a few moments. I noticed a big yellow butterfly flitting around the shrubbery....and of course I immediately thought of Jhessye. I reminded myself to check in on the thread to see if there were any new developments. I have been busy at work, and I just moved while also getting my last child off to college. Empty nest syndrome, and downsizing took over my life. Several days would go by without me having the time or emotional energy to check in. And then... there was that beautiful yellow butterfly...like a sign. On that very day....
I was floored when I saw the news. I can't even begin to explain, except to say that Jhessye touched my heart, and her suffering saddened me in a way that I won't forget.

Hopefully Jerice will never again be free to harm another child. She exudes evil, and I pray that the jury will feel it in the same way that I do. Just watching her on that court video made my skin crawl. She is completely without a soul, and she obviously feels no remorse.
Jhessye meant nothing to her own mother. But she meant so much to so many other people.

God Bless this journey to justice for our little Butterfly Princess.

Beautiful post EllaMae ♥

YES! YES! YES! Such wonderful news to come back to! :woohoo:

Fly carefree with the angels butterfly knowing how many lives and hearts you've touched!!

Video of interview with Lisa and Victor Vance, some of those family members who shared the care of Jhessye while her momster served her time in Cali.

At the end, it mentions the family believing that Jhessye was murdered and dumped some 3 weeks prior to her being reported missing. Wondering if this belief is based in any of the facts/evidence provided by LE.

Also, about midway (1:53) through the piece Victor discusses the day Jhessye was reported missing and the fact that Jerice cursed them out for showing up at the scene and told them to mind their own business. She then continued to smoke and discuss going out to the club later on. LE was forced to separate the family members from Jerice because they were so upset by her seeming lack of concern about just reported missing Jhessye.
