Yes did you see the clips of the depositions that her mom and dad gave! I still can't get over them. They chat seem to remember anything...ugh

I saw those too finally. Ya know I couldn't make myself watch them after the 1st five minutes!! I was really aggravated with the responses.

The fact that they could do those depos and keep a straight face, even when caught in lies, astounded me. However, there was interesting new info that wasn't previously released. Or, I don't recall hearing anyway.
Crazy thought, but I wonder if the police have a way to verify that she is still gone. I wonder if she could have been snuck back into the house without being seen??

Still missing. There Is a petition floating around to be signed. The goal is to put pressure on the District Attorneys office to get charges pressed.

I'm not sure what they would be charged with that would be enough, if they want to flush her out, honestly. Perjury, they probably have commited that, but I'm not sure they have enough. They would probably need enough to charge them with a serious felony. IMO.

I'm not convinced she is still anywhere other than home. I truly think she is back home and laying low. I believe she left initially, but has been snuck right back in her home. The police have no warrants to search the home. The family has not given them any reason to feel a crime was committed in the home, so she can hide out there for quite a while. Of course all of this is only my thoughts.

Kidnapping is a felony. IIRC she doesn't have legal custody of that child anymore. Is that right?

Granted, most of the time when you see a non-violent parent get caught on their kidnapping charges (Sabrina Allen, Slinkard kids) years later, the parent who ran off with the child receives a much lighter sentence than a stranger would. Understandably.
 
I think she is being hidden by some kind of underground network.

Many times, a parental abduction results in the death of the child(ren). I do not think they should receive a lesser sentence.

I mostly agree with you... even if the child is not harmed physically they likely suffer a lifetime of emotional damage. To say nothing of the damage done to the other parent's life.

Do I think their sentence should be as harsh as someone like, say, Nathaniel Kibby? No, probably not. But I have been disappointed in the sentences I have seen for parental kidnappings in the past.

I thought they wanted charges against her parents. Doesn't she have a warrant pending? She also, has no idea she is kidnapping the poor baby. ( well legally, she doesn't, she hasn't been served with anything legally) I, think she knows of course. But, that would be difficult to prove.

Oh, she knows she has kidnapped him. She knows exactly what the court orders for parenting time were. She knows she's keeping the baby from his dad. Therefore she knows she is legally kidnapping him.

She technically knows which is what I stated. It is also an issue of proving that she knew and understands. As you can see several earlier posts, people did not agree, here. So, there is a very good possibility it would be a tough case for the D.A. to be successful on a felony charge. It's hard enough on any felony, but when it comes to mother and child it becomes another monster. I often watch and read and don't understand why they don't arrest the person. The truth is after working in the justice system, I have seen many of these cases fail. When some of these fail, the child(ren) end up suffering.

I may be a little more willing to say chance it, but it seems like the legal system is tying everything up and they are staying on top of it. They appear to be exhausting all of their options and that is a great thing. Less wiggle room. And honestly I think she is either with immediate family or my gut says she is within the home. All of this is my opinion of course. It is just the way I am processing it.

All the lies... I know the family and Maddie, and even I think they're at fault for the disappearance. I feel Maddie and William are somewhere out of state. I can't remember where I saw it but Maddie was seen dressing William up as a girl! They're not in the house... All honesty in Phoenix are so close together the neighbors would know. Maddie would never agree to be a lifelong prisoner. My thiught is she's with some new family friend and maybe even making a life with another Mormon man and pretending to be a happy family of 3, mom, "dad" and "baby girl". That kind of deception would work better... And Maddie is obviously open to new relationships because in the deposition, Cassie said Maddie was going on a date *with* sick, puking William. Perhaps not a "date", but a meeting with the person with whom she was going to disappear with? My .02 as a long time Jones family friend.
