She is likely dependent on a feeding tube, and long term patients on the high sugar liquid tube feed diets often develop truncal obsesity, in addition to laxness of skeletal and abdominal muscles, combined with stiffness and contractures, etc. Her physical body habitus in the abdominal area ("shape") may have concealed a growing uterus. The baby may have been very small, while full term-- we don't know. She may have limb (hip) contractures making her physical shape difficult to assess for the usual signs of pregnancy.

Just some of the issues with a decades-long condition of immobility/ incapacitation.

Suspect in Hacienda HealthCare rape is Christian rapper with clean record

Sutherland’s wife filed for divorce Dec 5, 2018 stating marriage is broken beyond repair.

This is his 2nd marriage, has 2 children - 12 and 13 yrs old

He and his sister were adopted from an orphanage in Haiti.

Been in Arizona since the late 1980’s.

Adopted Parents had some money, have at least six plots of land that they were trying to develop a few years ago. Parents may have some means to pay cash bond.

Sutherland received a Court Ordered DNA test. Got dna results yesterday, arrested immediately.
 
Okay, I work for a defense attorney and even I find this absurd! No direct evidence? Are you seriously claiming that?! It doesn't get much more direct than DNA!

It is unbelievable to me that they are actually going there. They will either have to claim she consented or claim virgin pregnancy or claim he was framed. Holy crap.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, NS is still in jail (“Facility: LBJF 22,” or “Lower Buckeye Jail (Facility)” 22).

It doesn’t appear that his case history has been entered into their case information page yet, but as soon as it shows up, I will post. If indeed he has been bonded out, his case history will definitely indicate that (at least that was my experience when I followed another Maricopa County case last summer).

Direct evidence is evidence that doesn't require inference to interpret. Direct evidence of sexual assault would be if someone caught him in the act. Strictly speaking, DNA is extremely strong circumstantial evidence.
But yeah, that statement is ridiculous.

The reporter is mistaken, IMO.

I believe what happened was s/he saw the “Final Release Order and Order Regarding Counsel” (third and fourth pages of the pdf document attached below), and assumed that NS was being released right away.

In fact, the release order only sets forth release conditions NS would be required to comply with if he were to be released (thus the “If the bond is posted ...” on the third page).

So no, he isn’t getting out any time soon, IMO.

Apparently the accused was still working at the hospital weeks after the patient gave birth.
Wondering if in some small way he felt like a "proud " father and how he reacted when word (no doubt) spread through the hospital that a baby was born- did he try to get a look at the child?
speculation, imo.

I didn't mean it like that. I just saw some posts saying he should be deported (or along those lines) and I asked if we actually knew if he was born in the US or not, which doesn't really matter to me. Was just making sure that was accurate info, I now know he was adopted.

Not all defense attorneys are “bad,” IMO.

He often called in sick. I think in an attempt to avoid DNA swabs. Must have been breaking out in a cold sweat.

And it’s good he’s not getting out. Omg. His victim is similar to a 3 y.o., imo, that makes him a pedophile, on top of a rapist!
My gf (RN) has 3 new LPNs under her charge, all three took a one year course. According to my friend, none of the three can administer an IV. Their skills are nothing more than a NA. Is one year even enough? Granted, they learn as they go. But, I prefer credentials.
I also heard the rapist was the direct care person for his victim, on the night shift. So, exactly what was going on?
