There were reportedly 25 other people in addition to the family at that campsite area.

A 2 yr old child, exits the tent in which he is sleeping with an older adoptive sibling.

Wonders off. Without making a noise or crying for Momma?

And none of those 25 people in rather close proximity in addition to the family hear a thing?

Possible but at this point in time I am of the opinion not probable. JMHO at this time.

Just getting to the thread so if this has been posted please forgive me..We used to camp when my kids were little. After a full day of lake, running, playing the kids were exhausted!! There's no way in heck I could have ever woken up my child at that hour. If we left I would have had to pick him up and take him wherever I had to go..They sleep like rocks at that age!

Why has there been no reports of anyone awake at 1:30 am or so when they called LE? I know when people go camping they often stay up late drinking beers or hanging around the campfire talking........ Especially if they are the younger crowd a local posted about earlier.

The campground itself is probably strictly enforced.... that is quiet time is no later than 10pm.

Video at link.

snipped:
The Flagstaff family went to the campsite on Friday. According to Dwight D'Evelyn, spokesman for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, the custodial mother claims she last saw Syler around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday inside a tent immediately adjacent to the tent she slept in.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., she found Syler missing and conducted a search before calling 911. D'Evelyn said the first official call recorded by YCSO Communications came at approximately 2:30 a.m. from a camp host and deputies were on scene by 3 a.m.

Deputies contacted and spoke with more than 25 campers who were on site at the time of Syler's disappearance. Non-family member campers told deputies they saw Syler at the campsite Saturday evening.

Two new bits of info I bolded.

The 911 call was made by the Host of the campground.

The tent for Sylar and the older adoptive sibling was adjacent to Adoptive Mom's tent.

I was pretty sure there was to be a press conference today at 5 p.m. yet there is no press release on the Sheriff's website

I don't believe there was any real news other than the biological mother was located in another state. Also, that there was another boy camping with them... I think a 12yo who was a friend of the other children. So there were 3 older kids not just the 'siblings' that was reported earlier. Police are questioning the adoptive mom about why she didn't tell them this detail earlier (not that this new boy has any relevance to the disappearance).

Looks like we might need to start a time line soon and a who's who (once more info comes out).

I have to cook dinner in a few (yes it's only 10 to 5 PM here :))

Any takers? :)

I am afraid for this child. If he wasn't taken, he is out there somewhere. My heart hurts right now.

I have to say goodnight, but I am still praying for a miracle! :praying:

I'm confused as to why she was checking on the kids at 1:45AM.

Unless something was obviously amiss outside of their tent, why would she not just listen out for them and make sure no one was upset or making noise?
Most parents of toddlers--especially parents who take their toddlers camping--know that rattling around trying to find a zipper, then unzipping that zipper, and letting enough light in so that you could see all members of that tent ALL will likely wake up both Syler and the other children. You wouldn't wake up a toddler in a strange location, IMHO.....as it's difficult enough to get them asleep in a new setting like this in the first place.
We take our 2 year old camping frequently. We have a 3 room tent and wouldn't dream of keeping our children in a completely seperate tent.....if for nothing more than the movements you feel when someone is awake and stirring in the tent. That said, I can't imagine that these other children are SUCH deep sleepers that they wouldn't wake to Syler crawling out of his covers and unzipping the tent....but, moreover, I'm not even certain that a 2 year old can work a tent zipper. Mine certainly would have trouble with that, and wouldn't be able to find the zipper in the dark or figure out how to work it without great effort and time....but my 2 year old sleeps in a pack-n-play, because there's no way I would risk him wandering off in the middle of the night.
That said, there is very little chance that this child walked away from that tent site on his own. I've seen very few children who would leave the comfort and safety of their bed and their sibling and their parents, and willingly walk out into the dark and unknown in the middle of the night. Toddlers who wake up in a strange bed and location do one thing pretty consistently....they cry, they panic, they don't know where they are or where their parents are. They want mommy and daddy.....they don't wake up, remain silent, remove themselves from a tent, and go exploring in the pitch black dark.
IMHO.

I'm confused as to why she was checking on the kids at 1:45AM.

Thanks for reminding me... I forgot to report that in her exclusive interview with a local TV station she said:

"I just got a strange feeling that something wasn't right, so I decided to check on them and that's when I noticed Syler missing". (don't quote me exactly but her words were very close to that)

This whole thing stinks!

Where do you live Kat? It's 10:05 p.m. here!

Me too...from the very first video of her whaling "My baby's gone! Find my baby!" :banghead: Sorry, it just wasn't very convincing to me. :waitasec:

That was my "ah ha" moment as well.

Oh wow... forgive us for being OT... I thought you were in Texas at one time when we were working on some local cases! You are in a beautiful place now though! Enjoy and get your dinner done! I'll be up well before you in the a.m.!

Police located the biological mom in a state in the eastern US.

There is still major doubt in the 'adoptive' mom's story. Police don't know even if she is legally trying to adopt the child.

Lots of holes.

Now the adoptive mom is claiming she had a 'bad feeling' about a Mexican man that was in the campground across from them. He had been watching them all day.

She said she think the baby was kidnapped.

This news station had the exclusive interview with the adoptive mom. I'm not sure if they have it online but it's worth seeing if so.

Oh, GMAflippinB! So she now says that she had this "bad feeling" about a "mexican man" who had been "watching them all day" BUT, this feeling wasn't bad enough to put Syler in her tent between her and her mom to keep him safe!!! Whatever!

ETA: Heck, if this "mexican man" was "watching them all day" and giving her a "bad feeling" then she should have packed up her entire family and taken them home OR zipped all of her kids up in her and her moms tent to make sure they were safe.

Grrrrr! She's just figured out that her stoopid story of a 2 year old wandering around in the dark with no shoes on, without making a noise isn't believable to anyone with a brain. Well, duh!

Oh, and another thing, this 2nd story about a "mexican man" who was "watching you all day" and gave you a "bad feeling", isn't any better. What's next?? Alien Abduction???

Tell us where you hid Syler already, okay!? Thanks!

:applause: on your post Lovejac

I wonder now if the reports that other campers saw Syler at 9:30pm are accurate. How could she get him out of there between 9:30 and the time he was missing without anyone seeing since this camp site is so small. Single people without kids don't normally pay much attention to kids from my experience.......

Lots of unanswered questions here and incredibly hinky behavior by this 'mom'.

Oh no.....I really do hope he has been hidden due to this so called custody battle....rather than anything awful......like an accident being covered up.....

but I've heard it before......... "The mexican, the portugese paedophile ring, the dingo has got my baby"

Sorry to be cynical.....

Video (you can click and make it double the size).

Custodial Mother: C Priem 36 yrs old

Christina's Mother: N. Collins (Nancy was there as well) 57 yrs old

Both ladies from Flagstaff

Also at the site were 12 yr old girl, 14 yr old boy, son and daughter of C Priem. And a 14 yr old friend (gender not identified in report).

Interesting video.

Apparently they never had the presser ? sigh :(
