Circumstances of Recovery: At around 7:30 a.m. on August 20, 1975, a construction worker driving on the south side of Interstate 10 spotted a body lying facedown in a ditch near Rita Road in the desert southeast of Tucson.

Officers responded to the scene and discovered the body, believed to be that of a young man in his 20s, about 25 feet down an embankment off Rita Road, approximately 100 yards from Interstate 10. He had been shot execution-style and was possibly the victim of a "drug rip-off." The man carried no identification and was clad in white pants and a white t-shirt, similar to the type worn by carpenters or painters.

There were no signs of struggle at the scene and deputies speculated that the man had been shot elsewhere and his body later dumped alongside the road. It is believed the man was killed less than 24 hours prior to his body being found, possibly during the previous night.

Pima County sheriff's deputies released a sketch of the victim in the hopes that someone would recognize him. They also sent the man's fingerprints to the FBI in Washington, D.C. for analysis, but the man's identity remained elusive.

The man's remains were later exhumed in a renewed effort to identify him, which resulted in the age range being increased to 25 to 40.

An autopsy was performed, but sheriff's detectives would not release the results, claiming that it could hamper their investigation. Detective Jim Barkman said the man had been shot.

The man was a Caucasian who appears to be in his 20's. He was dressed in a white T-shirt and white pants of the type usually worn by carpenters and painters.

The man had short, curly black hair, brown eyes and a four-inch scar on his right forearm. He was about five feet eight and of medium weight.

Barkman said there was nothing in his pockets except some change.

The body was found face down along an embankment about 25 feet below Rita Rd. and about 100 yards from the interchange at I-10. Barkman said the man was killed during the night.

A construction worker discovered the body at 7:30 a.m. while driving to dump on the south side of the freeway.

Meanwhile, an entire corpse found August 21 near Interstate 19 and Rita Road remains unidentified. Officials suspect the body is that of a victim of a drug rip-off.

He also had tattoos on his arm per one of the articles but no mention of what type.

He very possibly also could have been Hispanic or African admixed or Middle Eastern admixed. I once knew a guy who was a quarter Middle Eastern (Lebanese) and the rest white and he looked exactly like the recon.

He has a certain Mediterranean look to him, could also be Italian.
