Helenbee99 I have many questions about Fariba's relationship. Does she live near family? Why is it that no one in the family has met him during the eight months that they have dated? Also did she email anyone during the time that she was on the cruise?

I am wondering if there is some way to get the passenger list and send out an email/letter to them asking about any information that they know? Like you said if they saw an argument. Also if you could communicate with the people who had cabins around Fariba's. It seems as though without a lock down on the ship that valuable information that could be very pertinent to Fariba's disappearance.

There was a passenger who seemingly checked in with us and her cabin mate reported she was missing when we were entering the port,” said Ryerson. “There’s no evidence of any other thing at this point.”Because the vessel had already docked, Ryerson said the cruise ship was not locked down and the passengers, some of whom had already disembarked, were not questioned.

This sound weird to me,especially with a missing person alert

So did he purposely wait until the ship was docked and passengers were disembarking before sounding the alarm that she was missing? Giving a third alternative to where she may have gone?

I am a family member of Fariba Amani. I know that she DID NOT jump. I can bet my life on it. She has 2 beautiful children, loving siblings and Mom. She had a love for life.

We are in desperate need for answers, and I know that there must be somebody out there who has witnessed something. Not a crime but maybe a heated argument or something on that ship or even in the hotel. We are asking, begging anybody with any information whatsoever to come forward. We need justice.

This was a beautiful, loving and caring person and she did not deserve this. No one deserves this.

We are absolutley devastated by this.

Oh and there are no cameras on the deck. I believe it should be mandatory for all cruises to have cameras all over the ship including the decks.

Welcome helenbee99 :welcome:

Please accept my sincere condolences in the disappearance of beautiful Fariba. I am very disturbed at the circumstances surrounding this and would like to help the family in any way to get some answers as to what may have happened.

Can you tell me, if you know, if either Fariba or her boyfriend smoked? I ask this because the majority of the ship is non smoking with the exception of the Lido (open air) deck and the casino it appears. Even the rooms are apparently non smoking. Could they have been spending a lot of time on the open air deck for one or both of them to have a cigarette?

And with that in mind, wouldn't other people be up there for the same reason? Unless it was long after everyone was in bed for the night considering they had an early disembarkment the next day.

The way i read it, was that he reported her missing before docking, and having done that, I cannot understand why anybody was allowed to leave the ship.jmo

I've been reading cruise reviews on this ship and it appears that the ship returns to Florida around 7:30am and the passengers begin to disembark at 8:00am. Didn't the boyfriend say he just got up at 8am?!? Why would you still be in bed when you're supposed to be packed up and leaving the ship?

I also read that the casino closes at 1am although they have been known to leave it open as long as 2am if there are people still at the tables. So why would the boyfriend leave her in the gift shop and head for a casino that was supposed to be closing?

Personally, I don't believe a word of any of his story. But we always have to look at the alternatives I suppose.

Two recent reviews from a couple of weeks before Fariba went missing indicate that the weather was not very nice and that the boat was doing a lot of "rolling" because the seas were not that calm. Being a smaller ship, it would likely have more of an impact. And they complained of being seasick.

Checking the weather for Freeport Bahamas and West Palm Beach Florida on the 28th and 29th indicates that it wasn't that warm and sunny either. In fact there was some rain on both days. I hope our poster who was on the cruise just before can elaborate on just how unstable one might be walking around on the upper deck in the middle of the night in what might have been slightly rough seas. Especially if perhaps you weren't feeling all that well due to seasickness.

Some very interesting points Kamile,I do not know what time he actually said that he left her, maybe you could help there?..

Also we must look at ALL the alternatives, however against the grain they may seem..

I am not familiar with the cruiseline that she was on, but on our ship, Carnival Fantasy, there was a little sensation of movement at times but definetly nothing that caused us to not be able to walk steadily, etc. Since a man had recently fallen to his death on the same ship we were on, I made a point of checking the height of protective barriers on the decks, on each floor, etc. They are probably at least 4 to 4 1/1 high or higher so to "fall overboard" would require some effort, unless of course, you were doing the "King of the World" stunt (which I did and the rail was still high enough that I would not have fallen overboard...).

The weather in Freeport on that day was warm, pleasant, and a brief shower around 1:00pm. It was gorgeous during that time.

I believe the inital reports stated that he left her in the gift shop at 1am and headed to the casino. Sometime after that, no time given, he returned to their room and proceeded to go to sleep even though she had not yet returned. He claimed to have fallen asleep and he didn't notice her missing until he got up at 8am the next morning.

At least that is what I think I read?

I was on a cruise in February a year ago. My granddaughter, a young teenager, stayed with me in my room. The last night they had a teen function, dance, pizza and other activities. They were locked in the disco room. She had her phone on her but I still waited up until I heard her come in. Her mother, I assume, was texting her every 10 minutes. lol If the gift shop closed I'd be out there looking for FA if she was not back by a reasonable time and calling her cell phone just to make sure she was all right. And I know a child is different but your sense of caring for the safety of someone you love is the same.

Did he not care because she broke up with him while on the cruise? Something does not sound right at all. jmo

You have raised some very good questions

which begs the question did they part company at the gift shop on good or bad terms?.. there must be a camera in the shop, near the exit..If they parted on good terms, he should have been concerned as soon as he got back to their cabin, bad terms he may have thought that she wanted to be alone, and there was no way he was going to look for her, because he was mad also.JMO

I never read that anywhere it was JMO. It was a question "Did he not care (about where she was) because she was planning on breaking up with him...?" I was not stating it as a fact and was JMO only as I posted. It was reported earlier in this thread that FA was considering breaking up with him after this cruise.

exactly my thoughts

Dear Helen,

As a family member can you tell me how to contact Fariba's sisters ? I searched on the internet and I found no email contact, no facebook page dedicated to Fariba's missing.

How can someone who has serious information can contact the family ? Create at least a facebook page for Fariba's missing !! it's free of charge.

And to reply to someone question in this forum: Yes the boyfriend is a smoker.

Unfortunately we cant get the passenger list. The lock down was not done because the boat docked at 7am and she was only reported missing at 8am......

she did not email anyone that we know about at this time
