It's not over until all the appeals are done. You can convict anyone when you violate their constitutional rights and suspend the statute of limitations.

Regarding the statute of limitations, it hadn't expired in Andrea Constand's case.

I'm glad he did. Shows his (Cosby's) true character.

I haven't read every post....is Cosby looking at any actual real jail time?

Cosby is free until his sentencing in 3 months. He only has to wear an ankle bracelet monitor if he leaves home. Of course Cosby may just get probation at sentencing. But if he does get some prison time, can he stay out on bail waiting for the appeal to be heard?

The trial hasn't had a lot of coverage in the UK, so I'm just catching up. I normally take the view that defence attorneys are just doing their job, but I'm genuinely angry with Kathleen Bliss. How could a woman bring herself to utter those old misogynist slurs against rape victims? She must have known what she was doing.

Is he arrested, or did he get to walk out of court ?

Judge Steven O’Neill said Cosby could remain free on bail until sentencing. Steele pleaded for him to be jailed immediately, saying he was a flight risk and owned a plane. Cosby, who had been silent throughout the trial, shouted back.

“He doesn’t have a plane, you a--hole,” said Cosby, referring to himself in the third person, his voice shaking. “He doesn’t know.”

O’Neill didn’t announce a date for sentencing, but state law requires it within 100 days of a conviction. Cosby, 80, could face up to 30 years in prison, a stiff fall from grace for the pioneering actor who’s amassed tens of millions of dollars over his career and became known as “America’s Dad” renowned for his wholesomeness and wisdom after starring in the landmark The Cosby Show.

Does anyone have links that show what the prosecutor is talking about at the press conference?

Prosecutor said something to the effect of "you got a glimpse of who he really is". I think he was talking when the guilty verdict was read and other parts
of the trial.

If anyone can link to any video showing this part I would appreciate it.

Thank you,
Tricia

I am glad that Bill Cosby is aware and understands that the world has heard of this guilty verdict - he has been acknowledged as a sexual predator.

Up until Jimmy Savile died, he thought the world would never know his secrets. He had even been knighted in Britain. It wasn't until after Savile died that his sexual abuse of more than 400 children were discovered. Britains thought the world of Sir James Savile, not knowing that during his hundreds of visits to children in hospitals, he sexually abused them.

I thought of Jimmy Savile's facade all around him - just like Bill Cosby built his own facade for years.

Two well-known celebrities who were sexual predators and thought they would never in a million years be found out.

BILL COSBY FOUND GUILTY! Sorry I'm shouting but I am so happy this monster will be off the streets. Guilty on all 3 counts, could be seeing 30 years in the pen.

Today is a day for saying it is NOT OKAY to view women as objects to be used!

This is a story about a man (likely a narcissist) who felt entitled to do whatever he wanted, to any woman he chose. Yes, he is sick -- but that is no excuse. He could have chosen to get help.

NO... it is NOT okay to hurt and abuse women! This is society saying NO!!!!!!!! Yes, we believe the women! Yes, you WILL be held accountable!

My son was the most happy to hear this verdict... which gives me faith in humanity.

The jurors analyzed the “ friend’s” testimony and decided she was a phoney.ha

When she didnt show up for the defense it kind of makes you wonder if she was lying about it from the get go. It is interesting that they alledegly had her say those things in a deposition though. I think those are "swear to tell the truth" usually so its a big mystery about this so called friend that never showed up for the defense.

So glad the jury did not let his fame get in the way of the evidence they saw and heard during the trial.

BBM

IME it's not uncommon (even in this day & age) for women to blame female rape victims and to "*advertiser censored* shame" them into silence.

Hatfield, the poster "Really?" may have been referring to Marguerite Jackson. I don't think the jury was made aware of Sheri Williams, the witness that Cosby's legal team tried unsuccessfully to subpoena. The judge disallowed them from reading her deposition testimony in court.

Seems there really is a shift in the tides. No longer do victims need to suffer in silence. Especially when going up against those in a position of power/money/fame etc. etc. I am elated by this verdict. So very proud these women fought the fight. It was a strong message today and with the Me too movement.

BRAVO!!! to you, Bravo

So he is walking free right now. He said he has no plane...we don’t know that as fact yet. Just him saying so.

Did the Judge ask for his passport?

I think the prosecution was right to be worried about him being a flight risk. Even if he doesnt own a plane he probably has a lot of money stashed away and someone like him could finance an exit from the country and end up in a place that does not have a treaty with the US to extradite. He could probably afford to charter a private plane and pay someone to whisk him away.

I hope he doesnt run from this before his sentencing.

There is a current case, Michelle Carter, who is out until appeals are heard. She was the person who talked Conrad Roy into going back in the truck to commit suicide in several texts.

Roy committed suicide in Fairhaven, Mass...so this is a different state.

Many sites report but this is from massive.com on Aug 3, 2017...such as Boston Globe, People, Boston Herald...

As of March 15, 2018 Boston Globe reported no dates were set yet. Other sites have updates too. So BC can be free for a long time.

I am on Ipad and cannot direct link. Sorry

Can someone pls refresh my memory re: the first trial: Did Cosby spend any time in jail before he got bail? How long? Thx.

Cosby likely has more than one passport and can flea the U.S. if or when he chooses.

I doubt that BC will ever spend any time in prison. He's a malignant narcissist and will find away to extricate himself from this embarrassing "situation".
