Too bad WH did not have this kind of peace her entire life (the photo with her and BK napping)? Why do so many gifted people fall into the drug habit .... I think it's because they dream of fame and fortune and think it's what they want but can't handle it when it actually happens .... too many famous people have died from drugs .... more each year.

Goes to show that money doesn't buy happiness. :twocents:

I think she was an addict because she had a predisposition to chemical dependence + lots of money + many enablers + lots of stress trying to stay on top. I don't think it had anything to do with money not buying happiness.

Because they think fame and fortune brings happiness and peace. It doesn't.

Thanks for the link .... I will watch the Dr. Phil episode. Right now I can't help but feel sorry for NG's predicament, especially if he was not involved in KB's incident. I can't imagine the pain/anguish he's going through and I really hope this intervention helps him. After all, most of the world thought BB was the one to introduce WH to drugs when it was just the opposite .... now NG is going through the same thing that BB went through with being accused of being involved in BK's bath incident. I will make up my mind after watching the Dr P episode. Some people state that he was a leech off of WH & KB, but it was WH that took him in AND probably introduced him to drugs same was WH did to BB & KB.

What predisposition did she have .... as far as i know her father nor Cissy was into drugs. Her brother introduced her to cocaine but that was by choice of both WH and her brother, not due to DNA.

I saw a clip of Nick on Dr. Phil today on Inside Edition. OMG!!! :drama: :dramaqueen: He is such a phony faker I can't stand it. Any bit of empathy I had for him is gone. His fake crying and overly dramatic self, was really gross to see. I also found it odd that rather than saying he missed a loved one, his choice of words were very telling to me. Instead of saying he missed WH because he loved her, he said something to the effect of how he lost the greatest singer ever. :waitasec: Really? :dunno: Just sayin.

Seemed more like he misses the greatest meal ticket ever. :twocents:

Remember, WH took NG in to live with she and BK .... he didn't break in and set up residence in her house.

I am not watching. I think this looks like someone out of control and maybe out of control because he thinks he is about to be arrested. He seems to be coming apart at the seams.

I was taught in a treatment program that alcholism and chemical dependence is a disease and that an addict has a 50% chance of having an alchoholic or addict parent. They taught us that it is in our DNA. Not every person "predisposed" to this disease becomes an addict. Most people who have a drink of alcohol or take addictive drugs prescribed by their physician do not become alcoholics or addicts. At the time I was in treatment, the statistics were 10% of us have it in our DNA. I did not mean to start a debate about this but only point out that addiction is not caused by fame or money or the influence of another person. WH had one of the most beautiful voices ever heard and it was a tragedy to the whole world that she lost it and is no longer with us. Without more facts to go on, it seems to me that BKB and NG were both victims and I don't quite understand why people are seeing him as such a villain.

NG said (and I quote):

"Mom, I lost the most legendary singer ever!"

I'm gonna be watching the dr. Phil interview because I want to see the context of this remark about him being present and giving WH cpr. In my mind there are a lot of unanswered questions about her death, and if NG was there it changes everything. There is a lot more to this saga IMO.

Exactly, that's what interventions are for .... people falling apart from addiction(s).

That is probably true with either parent being an addict.

Notice the I. As I mentioned before he seems a mite selfish. I'm not a fan of Dr Phil but I do agree that NG needs to "man up"
At some point he needs to stop wallowing.
Oh and that fake hyperventilation from NG.

I don't doubt that drugs and drink are part of the swings in his emotions. I'm just not sure how much is real and how much is manipulation. This is just my opinion based on his tweets and the snippets from the Dr.Phil interview and the On My Own show.
He seems to lack sincerity while being verbally agreeable.

What I want to hear on this Dr. Phil show is NG's mother explaining how he ended up living with WH. What age -- 12 or 16 -- was he when his mother gave up on raising him and why? Has she been a part of his life since? I find it extremely opportunistic that she hasn't shown up until now, but maybe I don't know the whole story. Just wish I could understand, once and for all, how NG got included as a quasi member of the WH family. It has always sounded strange to me and the info has remained limited for some reason like there's a secret.

I do not believe for one moment that WH introduced BB to drugs. That is not to say that I think BB did so with WH. I think WH was using casually when she and BB began seeing one another and he was no stranger to it but was perhaps sober at the time. I think neither led the other party down any primrose path to destruction. It is MOO that both had their demons going in.

I think it depends on what age NG was and what prompted WH to "adopt" him into her household. I honestly don't know if he learned much being in that home or came in all full of knowledge and brought advantages to the table that had nothing to do with him needing a stable environment. For me the jury is still out on that one. But his claims that he tried to save WH are bunk, pure bunk. I wonder if he fed that same BS to BK and convinced her his presence at the WH scene was simply covered up. I wonder very much if BK heard that story and bought it. I wonder very much. Because a young girl grieving the loss of her mother, with whom she was close and wanted to emulate, hearing such a thing from a trusted member of the "family" I could certainly see that young lost hurting young lady being played. Just saying. I do not know if NG has anything to do directly or indirectly with BK's current state. But I am mightily suspicious. That is just me.

I might be "odd" for feeling the way I do, but I see this entire cascading of events surrounding WH, BKB and NG (along w/other hangers-on and relatives distant or not) to be a tragedy. That's what it actually is since so much pain has been leveled in that group, most of it self-inflicted.
No one has to choose a path of destruction. Every day is a new start. You can't change the past but one can reach out for help and enjoy a better future. I find the entire thing extremely sad.
As far as NG I honestly think he is an addict and alcoholic (same thing) and his actions and words since BK's hospitalization show that very plainly. I have sympathy for those who suffer from the disease of addiction. The first use is self-chosen but not for much longer.
This always seems to explain it from the addict's point of view and is honest:

>Pain and deception are a river that carries you in it's current. You can choose to go with the current, or swim against it.
I believe the pain we feel within ourselves can be the product of our self-deception, which we can choose to overcome or we can choose to accept as a limit to our own freedom.<

my pain is self chosen, at least i believe it to be<

So I guess what I would like to know - whose paying for NG and his Ritz Carlton hotel stay, the drugs, the booze and now his rehab? Did he have an income source? A job? Is Mom stepping up? Or is Dr. Phil covering it all for the train wreck of a story that seems to never end.......somebody is paying the bills.......

I will not be one bit surprised if none of the questions people are hoping Dr. Phil asks NG will be asked. Why was he not living at home with his mother instead of living with WH and what happened the morning BK was found in the tub. Because this case is under investigation I believe that will be the answer to that question. As for why he was living with WH, if it gets answered, the answer will be short and simply, my mom and I didn't get along back then.

There is so much finger pointing at WH and BB for BK being addicted to drugs. IMO Yes, children learn what they live, BUT at some time in their young lives they figure out what is right and what is wrong. I'm sure BK was well aware of what her parents were doing (drugs, smoking, drinking) and at some point before she started using, knew those things her parents were doing were wrong. It was her choice to use or not to use. That's like saying any parent who does wrong in front of their child should be blamed for their child going off the tracks also. There are so many children who grew up in bad, unfit homes and knew enough not to make the same mistakes their parents made with them. Those children grow up and instill totally different morals for their own children, making their lives better than what they had. That could be anywhere from drugs, alcohol, smoking, sexual abuse, child abuse, parental abuse, yelling and screaming, etc.

You would think BK knowing drugs killed her mom, that would be enough to steer her clear of them. I realize losing her mother may have been a coping mechanism for her, but again, she knew it was wrong. If she didn't have family or friends she felt she could turn to, there is all kinds of professional help out there, if she would have only reached out to those who could help and support her in a positive way, instead of those who may have only drove her further into addiction. I have the impression BK lived a very boring lifestyle and drugs brought some fun and excitement and good feelings into her life. As opposed to her mom WH, her life was the opposite of BK's around the time she started doing drugs. She couldn't handle the pressures of that lifestyle and turned to drugs to help her cope with all the fame plus the turmoil. WH found out success and money could not buy happiness, therefore she turned to drugs to fulfill that happiness and drugs also helped her cope better, or so she thought.

All JMO and rant over.
