ANTIOCH, CA - Search dogs that specialize in sniffing out human remains and bones picked up a scent Monday morning on the property of Phillip and Nancy Garrido in Antioch.
Hayward Police Lt. Chris Orrey said the dogs detected the scent near the same place where cadaver dogs led searchers last week.
The search dogs were scouring the grounds for any evidence that would link the Garridos to the 1988 kidnapping of Michaela Garecht in Hayward and the 1989 disappearance of 13-year-old Ilene Misheloff in Dublin.
Crews expected to start digging on the property Monday afternoon. At the news conference, Orrey told reporters nothing of significance has been found yet. More at link: http://www.news10.net/news/story.aspx?storyid=67293&catid=2
