Mickey then maced him, he stabbed her, she slumped over

"She popped up and stabbed me in the chest, I'm not sure if I was surprised that she jumped up or that she was alive. I...shot her once, then was shaking and threw up."

No connection found to Lavergne, brother hasn't heard from her but has heard that she is likely in Fort Polk area. Police interviewing to see if she is the same woman from ID found in Lavergne's residence.

We're running the confession today, because it is the first time we are able to hear what he claims happened, in his own words. Mickey and her story have captivated the community, unlike any other. We understand some will not want to hear anymore from him, let alone see his photo. We just believe it's an important part of the case so many have been following. We are human. This has been a very difficult story to cover. Many of us becoming emotionally connected--- it doesn't compare, we realize, to those who knew Mickey. We're sorry for any additional pain this may have caused you today; we just wanted to shed some insight into our decision to air the confession.

Regarding his confession and accidentally hitting her? Bullshiat.
All of it is bullshiat.

The only part I believe is he hit her, held her against her will, she tried to call 911, she maced him and then he killed her. Failed. And had to do it again.

If you have a gun and are drunk and hit a bicyclist and want to avoid the cops then you are not going to argue much with them about money. You pay and you grovel and hope to hell everything is ok and you don't end up talking with the cops. That is, if you are someone just trying to avoid the cops.

This guy? He is a piece of work. Isn't he? "oh gosh, I didn't mean to hit her, and she got all macey on me. Shucks! I wish I didn't have to do all that but gosh, she was trying to kill me."

My blood pressure is up. Sorry. If this is inappropriate then I understand.
What makes my blood boil is the idea that he thinks anyone is buying this bullshiat. Uuuuggghhh!

I understand Mickey's friends want to go on with life.

However, there's many more potential victims who would like to know more about bsl. If things like this are always kept from the public, no one will take incidents like this seriously.

Had the public not constantly talked about killers like Jeffrey dahner or Ted Bundy, the public would have even less caution than they do now.

It's true, to understand criminals, you must learn how they think.

I've been lurking on this thread forever. Been following Mickeys case since day 1 (kind of obsessed, actually) and I hope I'm doing this right.

2 thoughts crossed my mind watching BSL's "taped confession" video:

1. I have a degree in psychology. We learned how to spot a liar by judging behavioral cues. Placing one's hands over or obscuring one's mouth is a tell-tale sign that a person is lying. Diverting one's eyes during the "meatiest" part of the lie is another way to tell. BSL is lying, in my opinion.

2. Didn't his first victim ( the gal he blindfolded and forced to perform oral sex and went to prison in 1999 for 8 years give or take). - didn't she say something about how "distinct" and " unforgettable" his voice was??
I just don't think there is anything distinct whatsoever about his voice. He just sounds and looks like any other guy from s. Louisiana, IMO

I wish I could finish off what Mickey started on that loser

I just watched it. I don't understand the controversy and flack KATC is getting for airing it. Our community is saddened by Mickey's violent death and shocked that a monster has walked among us. That being said... This confession is capital BS! He is so full of it. I don't believe 90% of his confession but the end result is the same. 1.) Mickey came home to a community that cried for her and hoped for well being. Not the way we wanted her to come home- but she is now resting where her family chose to inter her and not where this monster placed her. 2.) not one but TWO life sentences at Angola.

Just wanted to reassure you that he does in fact have a very distinctive voice. I know him! In school he was known as "man talk" due to how deep his voice was. Best way to describe it is a voice like "josh turner" very deep

What really concerns me is his 2year window to file an appeal for relief. IMO his confession differs from his plea of guilt. One example is regarding the plea saying Mickey was basically forced into his truck but according to his taped confession it appears that she may have gotten in by free will. So could this discrepany open the door for an appeal? How many other details don't match up? Even in reporting by the media details have been interpreted in different ways so I am left not knowing what to believe. When reading an official report or even watching a video whether it is truth or lies your not going by someone else's interpretation. So where do we go from here if this is the end of the reporting?

Mickey has so consumed a part of my heart, mind and soul. RIP Mickey.

Does anyone know where Katc is getting their information? They say they are public documents but I have been searching for the last two weeks for the 218 page document and I have still not found it. Any suggestions? Also they said the video confession was several hours long all we got was bits and pieces. I am from around that area and was a dispatcher for a helicopter company.I know I have seen BSL roll throught the heliport a time or two but that was about 6 years ago and frankly hewas always sleeping and the guys had to wake him up when it was time to fly out. Any information on the 218 pg document or the full length recording would help and if I find it I will be sure to share.

Especially considering that she had mentioned the $100 vs $500 payment for the damages to Mickeys bike- those details were just speculation at that point, right?

I don't believe his story either. it definitley stirred up some emotion in me. he was so calm, like he was talking about sports. i believe the shaking in his voice was fear of punishment not remorse for what he did. Makes me so angry. also as Nancy mentioned on FB, this was not his final confession. i think people are getting upset because it was one small portion ofthe tape where he down plays what he did and outright lies. they have 2 hours worth so I'm surprised at how little they posted, I was expecting a lot more. Or is this a story that they will continue to add to over a few days?
