(MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, AL) -- Baldwin County Sheriff's deputies say the resident discovered a partial human arm and hand near their home. Sheriff Huey "Hoss" Mack says the resident's dog walked up to the home carrying the remains.

UPDATE: 3:35pm Monday Nov. 10, 2014

The torso was found naked without a head, legs or a right arm by a person passing by Weeks Creek this morning.

The only identifying feature on the hand was a ring. Deputies are asking if anyone recognizes the Tungsten ring or has information as to a missing white male subject to contact the Baldwin County Sheriff's office.

Two males have been arrested in connection with the vicious assault of Manitoba teen Rinelle Harper, CTV News has learned.

Merritt pleads not guilty to McStay murders

Charles Ray “Chase” Merritt, 57, was arraigned in a Victorville courtroom, just a few miles from the desert site where family’s remains were discovered in November, four years after they went missing from their Fallbrook home.

Kim Pham trial: Women get 6-year terms in nightclub brawl death | 89.3 KPCC

Two women convicted of fatally kicking and beating a 23-year-old woman in a brawl outside a nightclub were each sentenced to six years in prison on Friday.

Candace Brito, 27, and Vanesa Zavala, 26, were earlier found guilty of voluntary manslaughter and assault in the death of Annie Kim Pham, an aspiring writer who died two days after the January fight when she was taken off life support.

Both cried as Orange County Superior Court Judge Thomas M. Goethals imposed the punishment. The judge also was calculating credit for time served and restitution to be paid.

Also in the room was a 21-year-old woman lying on the floor. She was wrapped in blankets and in desperate need of medical attention, weighing only 59 pounds, police said.
While executing the search warrant, police said they found large amounts of literature and notes pertaining to ritualistic behavior and the Nuwaubian Nation of Moors, an Islam-based cult which is known for being a sovereign group, police said.
Investigators later learned that Calvin McIntosh fathered all four children.

Police said they learned Calvin McIntosh would deprive the children of food when they were disobedient.
The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner ruled starvation as the cause of death for Alcenti McIntosh, police said.

Third relative charged in fatal beating of boy, 3 - Chicago Tribune

A cousin is the third person to be charged in the death of a 3-year-old boy, who was found malnourished and brutally beaten in his West Rogers Park home, authorities said.

Dominique Lott, 25, has been charged with first-degree murder and was ordered held without bail Wednesday afternoon.

Prosecutors say Lott, along with the 3-year-old boy’s pregnant mother and the boy’s father, waited hours to call for help after Donnell Coakley was hit more than 100 times with a belt and an electrical cord last Friday.



When police found Donnell at about 9 p.m. Friday, he had injuries to his buttocks, legs, back, arms and head, according to court documents. The boy had a chipped front tooth, was missing patches of hair and had a large open wound exposing muscle on his left arm, prosecutors said.

Police have charged Iashia Sweeting’s common law husband and his daughter with murder in the starving death of a baby and neglect of Sweeting and three other children.
