Train derails in New York, killing 4

New York (CNN) -- A passenger train derailment Sunday morning killed at least four people and injured dozens more, officials said.

Firefighters and emergency rescuers swarmed the scene near Spuyten Duyvil station in the Bronx, where at least two train cars had flipped on their sides. One car was just feet away from the Harlem River.

Three of the dead were thrown "as the train came off the track and was twisting and turning," New York Fire Department Chief Edward Kilduff told reporters...

AMESBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Amesbury police have put out an alert for two teenage girls who they believe have run away from home.

Victoria Griffin, 14, and her friend Lauren Byron, 15, were last seen Saturday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. in Amesbury. They left more than 20 letters to their friends and family that they were "going away for a while," shut off their cellphones and deleted social media profiles.

Griffin was reportedly seen at a bus stop in front of the Stop & Shop in Amesbury at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, according to police.

Police believe the pair may be headed to Florida from Boston. Anyone who has seen the girls is asked to contact the Amesbury Police Department at 978-388-1217.
