Imagine how difficult it's going to be for SB Dept of Public Health and for Human Resources to replace all those valuable employees. That's going to be a very tearful process. That dept and the county are going to be sad for a long time.

I haven't gotten that far. I'm still hung up on their spouses, children, siblings. It is so senseless and heartbreaking.

Law enforcement sources tell ABC News the IEDs found in the building were remote detonated devices. The devices were described by one source as “rudimentary.” Sources believed the bombs used radio-controlled activation of the kind used on toy remote control cars.

Meanwhile, what about their neighbours and the baby in that home filled with things that go boom?! They were an extreme danger to society before they even became front page news.imo.

Agree!! So many things could have gone wrong in that house.

IMO, political correctness passed the point of being a powerful, necessary and useful tool of human rights advocacy long ago and has become more and more a tool used to oppress opinion, dissent and debate. It is, JMO again, antithetical to free speech. When people lose their ability to sense irony, to see the importance of humour in our culture (and, I believe, our culture is worth defending), to be able to defend positions with logic and instead resort to shutting down argument with PC limitations, they become unable to discern the truth of what is happening under their noses.

If warning signs predictive of trouble or danger concerning this case (and undoubtedly many others), as mentioned in the article linked below and others, were ignored because there was a perception of a potential PC backlash to observations of such behaviour, and, as a result, a danger to the observer's professional and social well being, then political correctness must be examined. Political correctness has, it seems, become a shield behind which cultural values--like freedom of speech--have been attacked. Political correctness, in its current form, seems to have become a liability.

A fiance visa let us ponder...........................

Uh, it wasn't him. He was speaking for a female friend. You can blame over the top PC for this.

I have been waiting these past couple years for an example of when our out of control PC is going to get us killed and I think we have finally seen a perfect documented example.

When PC begins to get people killed then it is a sign that things have shifted way too far past even common sense. There needs to be a common sense balance that remains within the laws of the land but also doesn't go so far that we ignore real threats to human lives.

I think we hve to accept that this was gonna be a Paris - they had plenty to do multiple attacks ,,

things that go boom

rented cars

seem funded

i think the only conclusion is a cell IMO

willing to die

disgruntled emloyy seems to be fading

IMO, we just have accept that cells are here, active, and if we look at the past month highly charged and ready to go

+1

Had she not feared calling, there might be 14 families with their loved one at home today.

JMO but two people with guns and bombs killed a bunch of people yesterday. THEY are what got people killed, and PC had nothing to do with it. If people are too afraid to report suspicious activity that's on them. No "PC police" showed up at their door and told them what to do. I'm a big believer in "You are responsible for your own actions." We still have freedom of speech and anonymous tip lines. If anyone is out there saying "I would have done something, but..." I hope they take a long, hard look in the mirror and confront their own reasons for their inaction.

IME people who keep track of what their neighbors are doing are NOT the kind of people who keep quiet about it. JMO

I agree the killers did the killing but I disagree about PC. There was a very good chance lives could have been saved had the female person not been so afraid to report her neighbors.
And her fear of reporting had everything to do with PC. She said so herself.

Raymond Wetzel, a father of six, was one of 14 people killed in the mass shooting at Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino Wednesday.

A family spokesperson said Wetzel, an environmental specialist, was in a small meeting when suspected shooters Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27, burst inside the social service center and opened fire.

His widow, Renee Wetzel, learned of his death late Wednesday night.

"They are very overwhelmed," family spokesperson Celia Behar said. "There are six kids that have lost their father and Renee is a stay-at-home mom, so they've also lost all of their financial support, and the kids are just finding out today."

There is a family photo at link. Get your tissues. You will need them.

does anyone know right now who is streaming live now on this story I am sick of cnn on in background

TIA

Bracing myself for the news of all the Victims. May they RIP and my heart goes out to their loved ones. Sigh....Healing thoughts to those who endured the terror and injuries as a result.

I really think it's unfair to blame the neighbor for not reporting. We have no idea what she thought, we only have a statement from another person saying what she may have thought. That's so far removed from what was actually going through her head, I don't think it can truly be relied upon. It seems like a terribly cruel thing to say that because of her fourteen people died.

I think she feels guilty for not calling and is looking for an acceptable excuse, but if what she's saying is true... I don't have a lot of respect for cowards. She can blame PC but she made her own choices. Maybe lives could have been saved if she'd faced her fear and put her own feelings aside.

Lets think a mmomen, dropping off your infant, knowing you are gonna be dead shortly has to be a "higher" calling than some boss. We have not heard anything about being up for being terminating. Lieing to grandma, and burdening her with a inafant at her age , again a disgruntled employee - as more info comes .....

one bomb can kill your boss or one AK -15

again Link last thread he made 50k which translates to what 38K this stuff is expensive , it is also not like they rented a compact car ,,

which then takes us back to summer , where they were promising blood in US of A

a "wife" on a fiance visa, is certainly a great cover...the fact that she particpated and died despite having an infant is ...............

they are breaking it to americans slowly - this was gonna try and be a Paris here in USA, imo imo imo

and shopping malls (capatlisim ) -- ?????

I would think changing into tactial gear, getting all that amo in your rented car, loading your bombs, driving to and from has to leave us with not only was this planned , but they "packed" before he went to the party ......

...there is a photo of Tashfeen circulating on the internet. She is wearing traditional Muslim garb and her head is covered, so, not much to see.

But what are you going to say when you call? Is it against the law to get boxes, work in your garage at night, and have different men coming by? The only reason I'm asking this, it wasn't too long after 9/11 and we had a very nice Middle Eastern couple with their three kids living next door. I hadn't seen the husband for awhile, and different men were coming and going from the house. I was concerned, but I also was afraid maybe something bad happened to the husband. It turns out the husband was in Iraq, being an interpreter of some kind, and the men coming and going were relatives helping the wife with the three boys. If you don't witness something criminal, what do you say to the police, I don't like the way this or that person looks like? I'm sure this woman is beating herself up inside.
