I don't think we know why Jasdeep was going inside, but a member of the victims' family gave an interview and said he thought that was probably the case, and that Jasdeep may also have offered him some juice as well, based on his knowledge of his relative and his thoughts after watching the video.

I wonder if the perp was really collecting tin cans and things to recycle with his white garbage bag, but if so, did he do this regularly with a gun in his pocket? Or did he pose as a person who was collecting recyclable items but was looking for a victim or victims that morning, or did he target this family business.
And the zip ties. Dear God, there is no way he randomly went in there knowing they had zip ties or anything to tie them up with,( they only started business 6 days prior) if he wasn't there before, JUST saying if he wasn't he had to bring the zip ties with him right along with the gun( and the garbage bag) Talk about premeditated.

Yeah, this was too smooth to have been anything other than premeditated.

I just want to know where he took those men during that 6 (or so) minutes.

You and me both. Do we know where the farmer found the phone(s). I would love to figure out distance, could also bring in another player. I can't see this schmuck pulling it off on his own but who knows.

They could be like ducks on water, of course, but despite having a suspect in custody that tried to end himself LE doesn't appear to be aggressively looking for potential bodies here, especially bodies that could be mere minutes away. And from an evidentiary standpoint we all unfortunately know how important it is to find bodies quickly. Where are the searches? The pleas for help? I'm only feeling hints of 'standard operating PR procedures' from LE at the moment. This is not a criticism of LE, but an observation that LE is acting a bit differently than most I've seen in similar circumstances. In other words, is the evidence they have now suggesting different scenarios? Or, are they just so sure that his purported family confession is real and they are waiting for him to likewise confess to them?

JMO.

I think it's possible that she was restrained when he left, and he cut them off to allow her to walk to the truck. He'd allow her to get inside because it's not like she would get far with the baby, and perhaps he threatened to kill the other two if she ran.
Him cutting her loose makes sense, it looks like he has something in both hands when he is leaving with her, and I think that is where that one still photo came from, where everyone is trying to guess what is in his hand. Could have been cutters, or broken zip ties or restraints.

Merced County Undersheriff Corey Gibson said a farmer found a phone belonging to one of the victims on a street in Dos Palos, a town 30 miles (48 kilometers) southwest of Merced, and answered it when the family called it.

Warnke said that while detectives have not established any motive or determined whether Salgado worked with any accomplices, he believes the suspect was driven by money and colluded with someone else.

A farmer also found two cellphones belonging to the victims in nearby Dos Palos, officials said.

I think they're out there searching, and we just haven't heard about it. From the presser today, we learned that they threw everything at this right away, from assigning every detective they had, to bringing in other local, state, and federal agencies.

It was less than a minute - from the time he entered and left with Jasleen and the baby. I guess he could have quickly done that, but odds are greater she was unrestrained. I think he threatened her, maybe even taking Jasdeeps phone so he could watch the outside of the building.

A man who was involved in that 2005 robbery shared his side of the story exclusively with CBS47.

The man, who owned a central valley trucking company, said Salgado worked for him for two years. After firing Salgado the man said Salgado showed up at his home with a ski mask one night in December 2005.

“I went to shut the front door,” said the man “when he pulled out a gun and held it to the back of my head.”

The homeowner said Salgado duct taped the hands of himself his wife his 16-year-old daughter and his daughter’s friend before he “stole all the money we had, rings, that kind of stuff.”

The man said Salgado even took the ring off of his wife’s finger before he “made the girls jump in the pool, and tried to push me in the pool.”

Once in the pool, the man says Salgado told them “if you call the police I will kill you” before walking out the front door.

The man said they did call the police and Salgado was arrested the next morning according to the California Department of Corrections.

Only 8 years in prison for terrorizing that family. Unbelievable.

IIRC, they also were using drones to search the area.

So there's the trucking company connection.

I keep forgetting about the time difference. It appears very likely that they've found the bodies, as it would be unusual for someone of his rank to be there.

There's also the forthcoming statement too.
