Missing Alex Lerda, 17 considered at-risk: BPD



Police said 17-year-old Alex Lerda was last seen on November 29 at 4:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Loon Court, just north of Rosedale Highway and Coffee Road.

He is considered at-risk due to no prior history of running away said police.

Anyone with information regarding Lerda’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.

Incredible, isn't it? Before this year, when they went missing in Bakersfield they usually returned or were found fairly soon, but most who have gone missing over the past few months are still missing.

There is not any one reason. A few kids are running from abusive families or foster families. Some of the girls are running away with boyfriends. All too many girls are being lured away by predators they meet on the internet. Trafficking is a big, acknowledged problem in the area. There have been several recent reports in newspapers and on TV news about the Bakersfield problem.
