The ex-boyfriend's house was searched again. Video at link.

OAKLEY, Calif. - Oakley Police Department served an additional search warrant in connection to the disappearance of Alexis Gabe, who was last seen at her ex-boyfriend's Antioch home in January, officials say.

On Thursday, police detectives served the warrant at the home on Benttree Way in Antioch, City of Oakley said in a post on social media. Antioch police assisted with the effort to locate evidence in the 24-year-old Oakley woman's disappearance. The home in question is where Gabe was last seen, her family said. Investigators are looking to see if foul play occurred at this location.

The ex-boyfriend's home was subject to a previous search in February.

OAKLEY, Calif. (KRON) — There are new developments in the search of missing 24-year-old Oakley resident Alexis Gabe. Detectives exercised a search warrant at a home in connection to the woman’s disappearance, Oakley officials announced in a Facebook post Thursday evening.

A home on Benttree Way in Antioch is where Gabe was reportedly last seen, according to officials. Investigators are looking into whether this residence is where she was met with foul play.

Gabe has been missing since January. Numerous search efforts have been enacted since to find her. Last month, the Oakley Police Department announced a $10,000 reward for information related to Gabe’s disappearance.

Police have described a person of interest related to this case, KRON4 reported in April. He is described to be around 6 feet tall, slim build, dark skin, wearing a large jacket, a dark cap and an N95-style face mask with a beard protruding from underneath.

“We are aware of numerous reports of recently recovered deceased bodies around the Bay Area and beyond,” said Oakley Police Chief Paul Beard. “The community can be assured that the Oakley and Antioch Police Departments are actively looking into all reports and cases.”

MAY 13

OAKLEY, Calif. (KRON) — Investigators have found a “key piece of evidence” in the case of missing 24-year-old Oakley woman Alexis Gabe, city officials announced Friday evening in a Facebook post. The cell phone case found belonged to Gabe, her family confirmed to officials.

Back on Jan. 26, video captured a male walking away from Gabe’s car on Trent Street in Oakley, according to officials. Investigators suspect the subject discarded Gabe’s phone case on that day.

The cell phone case was found in Antioch and will be analyzed at a crime lab. Pictures posted by Oakley officials show the case has a cartoon depiction of rapper Tupac Shakur (2Pac).

I'm glad they were able to find some door cam video.. the figure is walking west on Oakley Rd at the Belden intersection. They didn't say where the cell phone case was found... other than Antioch.

There has got to be more surveillance video out there. People LOVE their Ring cameras in the Bay Area.

The exboyfriend on Bentree lane is still around?

Glad to see some movement in this case. Hoping more clues are found and released in the days ahead.

The exboyfriend on Bentree lane is still around?
Good question. LE searched his house several months ago as well. IIRC, they took away several trash bags of items at the time but AFAIK nothing was publicly mentioned about what may have been found.

Alexis Gabe reward upped to $60K

[...]
On Monday, the Oakley Police Department announced that the reward for anyone who provides information leading to her discovery has increased to $60,000. An anonymous donor pledged $50,000 to her reward fund, raising the reward from $10,000.

This is the most recent MSM report I could find, but it's several days old.

waaaooooooo... man but how will they locate her now? this will be like another pearl pinson. her poor family

my heart is breaking from this (first link) from the father - "Gabe's father, Gwyn, spoke for the family on Jones' death during the press conference Thursday. "What happened to Marshall was tragic and unexpected. My wife cried so hard last night upon hearing of his passing. He was our daughter's first love... he became part of our family. We had no idea he was capable of doing something like this to her. We didn't want him dead. We wanted him arrested to pay for his sins. We wanted to meet with him face to face. We wanted to look him in the eye and ask him why, ask him where is Alexis. I know police are saying that our daughter is gone, but our daughter will remain alive in our minds and in our hearts. We will continue to search for her until we find her."

such grace. and it disputes all the peanut gallery with the "good, save the taxpayers money" well thts not what the family wanted. they want to know where their daughter is.

If the police knew the name and knew that he lived at that house on Bentree, I'm not sure how if all of a sudden shows up in Seattle and then shot dead?

NOW the police tell us
"While the investigation had almost solely focused on him, Thursday's announcement was the first time that police named Jones as the formal suspect who allegedly killed her at his home in Antioch.

He hadn't been cooperative with police when Gabe went missing, and had moved out of California days after Gabe went missing to Washington, where he has some family and friends."

Hmmm. Sounds like they pretty much knew who they had to find but couldn't since April. They were already tracking him by then. Wtf. And they ask the public to identify that fuzzy blurry image???? If he was missing then why wasn't anyone asked to LOOK for him??? Instead they raised $100k?

Horrifying and so sad for the family... she is a local to the bay area so local news was covering it regularly.

(Respectfully snipped by me)

The article says that he moved back to Washington (family/friends) shortly after Gabe was declared missing, five months ago. So it wasn't all the sudden he went to Washington and they tried to arrest him.

Unless LE had a reason to hold/detain him, LE really can't just stop someone from moving out of state. Being non-cooperative and evasive may be poor behavior but it isn't a crime.

I like to think they were monitoring and tracking him for a while in the hopes that he might go back to 'the location' (wherever he dumped her body). Let's hope they can still figure it out. JMO.
