If the unthinkable has happened, where would one look for them, if looking at cell towers is one clue, then there must be other factors to find them.
How far would the perpertrators go in distance to hide things? Would they go as far as the SUV, half the distance? would they go north northeast, or as far down as the Slab City, hard soil? soft soil?
Nightime, daytime, according to any "thought out" time link? Maybe too far down would pick up the border patrol spotting out around both sides of the Salton Sea? Around Joshua Tree?

Speaking of the " Mojave Desert"....Keith Bushey, a former sheriff’s deputy chief for San Bernardino County told The Sun, “If there were to be a cross everywhere someone dumped a body, the desert would look like Forest Lawn [Cemetery].”
Starting to read, some reports suggest that a perpetrator generally likes to have a buffer zone between the area they live and work, some suggest that they dump their business between 5 and 24 miles away, some average 14.3 miles away, that could all add to mapping, there is a lot of interesting reading, some has data some speculative, but a lot of reading period.

People missing from the area, I included Hemet and Beaumont for reference

I looked at where the Concrete plants are off Dillon road, Berdoo Canyon road is 12.8 miles, Box Canyon road (out by San Andreas fault line) is 20 to 30 mile out depending where one picks from, that road I believe reconnects to the I-10, pretty far out.

What is the timeframe for these disappearances? I'm sure that a lot of these could be drug/gang affiliated. I'm also sure that disappearances without explanation are very few. Those are the ones who generally make the news and generally stick. I'm reminded about Christina Bastian Who's case I've followed since day one. She disappeared around Apple Valley/Hesperia area toward the end of 2015. No reason for her to just leave and her dog was seemingly found abandoned on the streets.Articles of hers were found along the side of the highway in the middle of the desert and her truck later located on an obscure dirt road many miles from there.

To your other point about a buffering zone, it is interesting to think about. It is believed that LISK dumped his victims where he did because from that vantage point he could see any cars from miles away before they would see him, so he knew he would have enough time. The desert is a perfect dumping ground for this reason. There could be a serial killer out there (or many) who do this very thing. They might even be living in highly populated communities and abducting people on the outskirts, then to murder and dump. Or torture.

The Family needs to keep pimping that SUV, somebody saw it at the Walmart/Sam's in PD parking lot with a sign on it this last weekend.
If they didn't park on the I-10 right after, then it sat a whole day somewhere, I would spread that vehicle around from Cat City to Indio, and at Casino's 24-7, it may make someone speak up or spook someone.
Between 10:00 PM and 4:30 AM is 6.5 hours at a minimum. It had to be two or more perpetrators if they dropped the car., three if were to be more efficient than 6.5 hours.
Park that SUV out at Spotlight 29 and Fantasy Springs Resorts Casino big time....

I'll try to revisit the NAMUS database tomorrow and list out the persons and date on excel or something that paste reasonably well.

I would agree that the turnaround should not be THAT long or difficult in obtaining. Sure, LE can't just walk into a wireless store, flash their badge and expect to have the data presented (you'd be surprised at how many think that's all that's required). Warrants etc are needed and is all handled at a higher level.
I can't personally speak for tower data turnaround but phone records including text records (conversations) are very easy to pull and easy to read, specifically speaking for AT&T.

It's more complicated than you might think. Usually, a subpoena has to be issued to corporate headquarters. The wireless store is actually not legally authorized to release any of this information. I work in a corporate office and handle subpoenas. Due to the high volume of requests, it can take weeks and then has to be approved by an attorney prior to its release.

I've been out of the loop and haven't caught up on every post on the thread, but I was thinking - how did JR and AM communicate about the supposed trip to/from Brawley? Could JR have already been "abducted" and then his abductor(s) used his cell phone to text AM to try to get her to meet "half-way" by claiming he needed a ride, specifically somewhere dark and isolate. It was quite late when she left to get him, right? Just my thoughts.

In this case it would probably be a warrant that was issued. But apparently for tower dumps warrants are not necessary in Cali. Only a court order. In terms of phone pings, I think you are right, a warrant would be issued requesting phone records from the corporate headquarters of whatever phone company is involved.

As we have no real idea where this case stands, it's hard to know what resources are available to Riverside--what probable cause they have for additional warrants is really unknown. I have to imagine though, that LE is quietly hard at work on this case. Families of both JDR and AM would seem to be very engaged, and I have this feeling that they won't rest until this is resolved.

There has been radio silence in the last month, so who knows?

It would be really interesting to know if any similar types of disappearances have occurred, anywhere in the region. If this wasn't personal, maybe there is someone out there who has done something like this before. And it doesn't have to be a couple vanishing. It might be an individual. But same MO, vehicle is found untouched. All personal belongings missing, that sort of thing.

That theory has been visited a number of times. It's just so hard to know anything at this point.

Just tried to post an refined area excel file from NAMUS, I messaged the moderator for help and suggestions.

I just can't get this case out of my head. I had to leave the thread because it was driving me insane. It's like they vanished into thin air. I want to believe that they were madly in love and ran away together for reasons unknown and are happy somewhere in like Argentina, I don't know. But I just feel so emotionally attached to this case, as I'm sure so many are.

I just wish we could get an update from LE. It's been so, so quiet. I just hate it.

I thought the same thing but it's so hard to fine information the only place I was able to get some info is from the missing person database but there's only been a few cases the most recent was a male around the same age who left for work but never make it to work but it wasn't in CA.

Honestly though, I doubt LE would have any more info to provide in spite of possibly jeopardizing the case. We don't even know if a crime has been committed. I don't think their silence is purposely, just nothing new to offer and the leads may be drying up as well.

I'm actually familiar with the complications. I'm also aware that of course things take time but this case would fall under an Emergency Request. Not exactly the same turnaround as when there's a civil or criminal case and records are being subpoenaed for court. Especially where one is requesting old data or deactivated account data. Certain data is only stored for so long but in this particular case where recent records were requested and no doubt requested as Emergency, the turnaround would be fairly quick. Imagine the lawsuit there would be if a telecommunications company sat on an Emergency Request that resulted in death that could have been prevented?
By the way, I work for AT&T.

But there is nothing to indicate an emergency.

An Emergency Request is classified as an emergency request from law enforcement working on kidnappings, missing person cases, attempted suicides, etc.

This case of course falling under missing persons.
