Is a suspect the same as a person of interested? On the video it says they searched the other person she was dating home after he torched his own vehicle but he is not consider a suspect .... so is he consider a person of interest?

Person of interest is current day speak for "suspect"

Perhaps Audrey told her sister Beaumont (or even Banning) and she confused it for Brawley. Or maybe Audrey accidentally said Brawley when she meant Beaumont.

I think law enforcement is keeping things tight lipped because they have information. Same with the family. Otherwise I feel like they would be all over the media with search parties, reminders of the reward, requests for tips. Absent Kitty Alvarado's segments and the mothers' Facebook posts, there isn't a huge presence regarding this case here in the desert.

I'm going to attempt to play devil's advocate based on speculation of what we've learned and attempt to not tread on TOS.

We know Jonathon was without a job or in between jobs.

We know (or supposedly) he was going to Brawley and back. Obviously this was a 'special' trip for him because it seemed out of character and his close friends say he didn't know anyone in Brawley.

How was Jonathon getting money? Was he behind on his portion of the rent? If this trip to Brawley was for his own benefit, was he paying for gas? And how?

By what means did he pay for the pizza?

Did Jonathon know Audrey's ex (or current) BF?

Is there a connection between Jonathon, this other BF and Audrey??

Maybe Jonathon met Audrey through the BF. This could be the catalyst.

Did Audrey know why Jonathon went to Brawley and was it the first time?

Jonathon's mother didn't know about Audrey, did Audrey's parents know about Jonathon?

How did Jonathon come to meet Audrey? Was it through her BF?

Not one of Jonathon's friends have anything to say about Audrey, as if they did not know her. Virtually the same for Audrey's family and friends.

There is a major underlying secret.

I think the PI said it best.

"The families and friends need to be open and transparent with law enforcement as they possibly can, even with what you tell them may be negative".

All JMO and pure speculation.

I respectfully disagree. I am not a criminologist (although I double majored sociology and criminal justice with a concentration in criminology) but a person of interest is someone who may have info on the crime. Could be because they are a suspect but a POI is NOT necessarily a suspect. If we're splitting hairs.

I agree that they have info, and they may feel it is unflattering so they are not sharing. That's my opinion only and not based on any facts.

I read that he was laid off, perhaps collecting unemployment? Not sure how long it's been but I would imagine he had that as income though perhaps not enough to cover all needs.

I respectfully disagree. I think that they go much more hand-in-hand than you've described. Although not a named suspect, a POI is certainly being considered as involved in a crime.

Perhaps more hand in hand than I described. But the person I was responding to was stating their opinion as an absolute fact. I am trying to abide by TOS in this thread since it's been a little emotional in here.

Nothing I say here is ever stated as absolute fact.

I will pray for answers in this case. Something about this young couple really hit me hard. They are the same age as me and my friends and Jon especially reminds me of someone I'd chill with. My gut tells me there is a LOT that LE and the families are holding back. I'll check back in here and there and keep hoping for the best.

Can you reference the post in which called it a game?
I don't think Gracie was referring that there was any post or comment that it was or wasn't a game. IMO, she meant that it's been too long.

Look back at post #405, she's just reiterating what was quoted.

Location of the burned vehicle may reveal insight.
Indio
Palm Desert
Beaumont
car location, let's dig......

With the new release of information thanks to the PI, it sounds like LE do have some good leads on who is involved with JR and AM's disappearance and are taking the necessary steps to solve this crime. Based on that person's action, I don't have any real hope that these two missing people are still walking around. Sadly. I hope we eventually learn where these two are, but until then we just have to wait for LE to do their work and announce their findings.

Yes, sad and true....
It's important to find them, forensics could provide a clue, auto fabric on shoes or clothing, one thread of a carpet from a certain make for model, add to a list off potential items that could convince a jury....
Time to pay up.... "Real friends and family got your back" Do it.... speak up.

We usually stop at Morongo on our way to Palm Springs (from Corona).
Last time, I remember thinking there's a LOT of area that could hide a body.

I think the only path we have right now is researching burned vehicles.

Did this PI actually work on the case? Where did he get his information from? Full disclosure: didn't watch the vid.

They didnt specify just mention they reached out to him and asked what his "gut" tells him and that he has 30 sum years of experience. But dude knew some stuff apparently whether he prepared for the interview ornis privately working it. I dont think he was doing them a solid. Or i guess he could have. Ionno. Weird tho.
Unrelated i know someone whi works for a new station specifically in production. In the past weve talked about how competitive it can get and that theyre known to have in house investigation teams. Not taking away that some people actually care about the story but higher ups sometimes want badly to break stories or bust them open so they'll go to lengths for ratings. That kinda resonated with me when I heard of this new piece. Specifically because of the click batey headline re "the picture that could change the timeline" or whatever it was. Im curious if they retained that PI or they had him dig. He doesnt work for LE (or maybe he does (not fact), he even knew riverside county bloodhounds are beat in the nation) so anything he revealed wasnt whaat LE was caring to share thus far.

If you think about it if one of us heard that on the streets we wouldnt be allowed to post it here. Were discussing it because its on an article so it kind of makes me feel somehow kmir got those details on their own uhm ...terms.

I understand, I'm just thinking that anything he says is basically hearsay since he didn't work on the case. Kind of like when you watch the news about a prominent figure being in legal trouble or going through some health issues and a lawyer or doctor is interviewed but they have to say that they have not represented or treated that person. I'm not sure that there's much to go off of from this PI. We don't really know if he's doing more than speculating himself.

Some take-aways FOR ME from the most recent KMIR report (not universal truths, just what I got from the report):
http://www.kmir.com/story/36112804/update-sources-reveal-new-information-on-missing-couple

1) Law Enforcement is hard at work on this case.

We don’t know if the search warrant executed on Audrey’s friend was directly related to Jonathan and Audrey’s disappearance, but LE had to have probable cause for that warrant, so they are obviously pursuing leads with a fair amount of vigor. [Important to remember that neither the Private Investigator Luis Bolanos or KMIR reporter, Kitty Alvarado are working with LE, or even having their questions answered by LE on this, so we have yet to know what the investigation into the friend revealed or even if the KMIR report is entirely accurate.]

(“Requirements for a Valid Search Warrant
An application for a warrant must be supported by a sworn, detailed statement made by a law enforcement officer appearing before a neutral judge or magistrate. The Supreme Court has said that
probable cause exists when the facts and circumstances within the police officer's knowledge provide a reasonably trustworthy basis for a man of reasonable caution to believe that a criminal offense has been committed or is about to take place (see Carroll v. United States, 267 U.S. 132 [1925]).”http://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-rights/the-fourth-amendment-warrant-requirement.html)

2) Private Investigator Bolanos stated that Riverside scent dogs are some of the best in the nation.

It could be that even though neither Audrey or Jonathan’s phones pinged in Beaumont the night of May 10, that they were there with the SUV and perhaps, were, as Bolanos suggests, transferred to another vehicle at that time. Eye witnesses may still be critical to this case being solved. Especially if someone drove by that spot at the moment of the transference to another vehicle—and the witnesses to this, just don't realize yet, what they were viewing.

Keeping the exact location of where the SUV was discovered in the public eye, might still prove valuable. At least it’s worth a shot.

3) The pizza Jonathan is believed to have ordered May 10, was ordered at 5:44.

During prime-time hours I’ve known Dominoes to take as long as an hour to deliver, even if the time given is 20 to 30 minutes. So if the pizza arrives within the following hour, Jonathan, at best is finished eating and cleaning up by close to 7. This does add a new element to the timeline. Don’t know what it means, but there really may be a scenario we can’t imagine, because the timeline we’ve been working with is off. There’s even the chance that JDR was already with Audrey when she went to see her sister, but chose to stay in her car.

And I think what the most recent KMIR report also reveals is that there might be even more leads being developed. No arrests have been made, so the friend with the torched car, no matter how suspicious that event seems, may have been a dead end.

Last week, this was a drug deal gone wrong. This week, everyone is looking into love-sick boyfriends who recently torched their cars. Next week, there might be a completely new lead that takes this case in a whole new direction. So glomming on to any one clue, might be a trip down the rabbit hole.

Early reports out of Indio did have this as a voluntary missing, as did the California Department of Justice. I remember wondering about this, at the time. That status has clearly changed. And the problem with a lot of these news sources, especially on cases like this, is that they simply mimic previous reports rather than conducting their own investigation. Riverside Sheriff’s department now lists the two as missing under suspicious circumstances, and they are the primary investigators on this case. It's their assessment that counts.

Someone out there knows exactly where these two are. And hopefully they will tell someone in law enforcement. You just hope that someone with information and a conscious will buy a burner phone, call from a location away from where they live, and let LE know what they know. They can stay anonymous.
