Him bringing out the notes makes sense if he believed that she was being held and was trying to appeal to the abductor by showing her humanity. You show photos, letters, whatever. If you held back and they later turned up dead - could you live with yourself?

I think it is unlikely that she was abducted.

I think RT did, at least at the time of the interview. There have been cases where the case for the MP being dead has been stronger and the family still held out hope in the face off all odds.

Starting at the beginning of that day.... I'd go over every place we stopped at , in case someone with nefarious intentions was spotted on camera following us.

Any phone calls received I'd relay to LE, or give them my phone.

Trying to think of what other information I could give LE to help find my spouse.
Not sure if I'd make public any love notes. But that's just me.
What good would that do ? Imo.
Eta : grammar

Frankly, going to "abduction" seems strange to me. Getting picked up by concerned strangers...much more likely. My parents never picked people up when they traveled, except in the desert. Single women, children, they picked them up. They then taught me never to do that. But people still do it. If Barb was upset and by the RV, and if RT's estimate of how long she was there is off...I could see that happening.

Could it turn into something more sinister? Sure. But a traditional abduction might not have taken place, it's possible she was offered a ride in an air conditioned car and went for it. She would surely have contacted other family members by now, though.

A whole lot of forensic questions I'd ask, if I could, such as Barb's relationship with alcohol, whether she was known to go on benders, etc. Since it seems she wasn't into SM and did not usually have a cell phone or go on the internet, she might not even know that a huge search had been conducted. Surely she would have reached out to her brother (if she had his number memorized). Did she? I'd want to ask RT what numbers she knew by heart.

His media interview probably came on the heels of his polygraph and LE interview(s). I'm sure the line of questioning was a kick in the gut. Tough questions. I believe with the love note mention, it was him on the defensive. Trying to show evidence that all was fine between the two of them. The more he does this - the more he will be eaten alive in the court of public opinion.

If I could advise him - it would be to be fully honest with investigators, period. That you have zero to prove to a bunch of strangers. Oh, and absolutely no more media interviews.

I think if he gave LE the abduction theory, they would have advised him regarding the media interviews IMO. So either they told him no interviews and he did it anyway or they encouraged him as a strategy. What else could it be? I guess they could have not said anything about what he should do after the lie detector? JMO

This is an area that is just starting to grow. Fort Mohave has two grocery stores, a hospital and a few strip malls. When I first moved here you had to go to the general store to pick up your mail and there was only one stoplight from Needles Ca. to Laughlin Nv. We have grown, but it still hard to find sidewalks on Hwy 95 from Needles to Laughlin. Its a tourist area that use to be a retirement area. I can't think of one business camera that would be helpful.
If they went the Needles Highway route to hit the 40 at River Road Cutoff both The Palms RV Resort & Storage and Oasis Super Storage along Needles Highway have a lot of security and I'd imagine have cameras facing toward the highway. Also IN Needles right near the 40 there are many new corporate indoor marijuana grow operations that also have heavy security and I'd imagine many exterior cameras. There is also a fairly large retail marijuana operation just as you come over the 95 bridge into CA that I would also assume has many exterior cameras.

ETA - Those are just SOME of the businesses which might have cameras that I can think of along either of the 2 routes from Bullhead to Needles if in fact Bullhead/Laughlin was their starting point

I wonder who's idea it was to take the trip to the Mojave?
It's so baking hot this month there.

Why an empty desert? In Mid July? Especially when you already live in the desert?

Also, it sounded very last minute,
BT spoke to her brother in Hong Kong about it just a few days before she left. On Wednesday?

Was it last minute, and whose idea was it?

And how she had to specifically mention she wouldn't have good cell service and may not be reachable.
Why go to a place that remote then? Why not somewhere else that's relaxing yet near civilzation?

And then she goes missing from there.

Just mulling over these things...

If RT was only 5-15 minutes behind and taking a few photos it does not seem logical to me that a self proclaimed desert biker found a urgent need to seek shade.

It also seems odd to me that RT mentioned when SAR got there they messed up a “potential crime scene”. So far to my knowledge he is the only person who points to “kidnapped” and “crime scene”. And as someone else pointed out upthread- LE would have been
There prior to SAR right? They seem to have the capabilities of recognizing a “potential crime scene”. I want the best outcome but even without cell or SM by now if she decided to leave, she would know through news, tv, etc. she is being searched for.

Put the key under a rock? Who in the heck does that!?

How do we know if that is even true?

Also, if she got lost or took a wrong turning, wouldn't you shout and call out to your partner, don't think the desert would be particularly noisy, so even if she'd run - surely he'd be able to hear her if she was calling him?

Surely there are also banks in the area, right?

I was married at one time to a very possessive, controlling man. If he perceived that I had done something to displease him, he would make my life intolerable until I confessed to the transgression and begged him to forgive me. During this time I would write notes to placate him just to keep the peace. That was when I was very, very young. He would proclaim to everyone what a perfect marriage we had and how deeply he loved me. When I escaped, he hunted for me for ten days with a weapon to kill me, because in his mind, if he couldn't have me, no one else would either. During trial, he told the judge that our marriage was perfect and that the only way I would leave him would be if I was drugged or someone abducted me.
Go figure.
This is profound and scary. Thank you for sharing.

I don't know that. Someone said here the sound of a running car does not even carry into the desert so I don't know.

The WS member that went to the site made it clear that they could see and hear for a long way around the area of the truck and camper. Is is possible that RT's comments were rooted in this? I mean was it so obvious (to him) that she MUST have met with foul play of some sort because that is the only thing that made sense considering he had backtracked, looked unsuccessfully for her and was able to see and hear for quite a distance?
