I have learned that the media often takes things out of context. As was mentioned, what the Uncle of Bryce said today. He talked for half an hour and one line out of everything he said was repeated. So I'm going to reserve judgement of the roommate.

So, so true. Had this happen to a close friend this last week. Long news interview & lots of footage & just a tiny clip used on the news missing the main message.

I heard they found shoes with the burned body. Why couldn't they just show the shoes to Bryce's parents??? Or maybe a piece of clothing? They don't need to do a full autopsy to identify if he's Bryce or not. How horrible this all has to be for the family. My heart goes out to them.

Exactly my thought. I just hope they are intentionally holding back for purposes of furthering the investigation in some way.

From the timeline:

2:08 a.m. Friday - Karen Laspisa talks to her son for the last time. He tells her his GPS tells him he will arrive in Laguna Niguel in three hours and 25 minutes. &#8220;He told me &#8216;I got off the I-5 and I&#8217;m in a suburban area. I&#8217;m going to sleep in my car,&#8217;&#8221;

Also, the video footage of the two times by Castaic lake was at 2:07 and 4:20 (I originally posted 2:30 & 4:20)

2:07 would be while he was talking to my sister during their last conversation Her phone records show call was 2:08. That is the conversation when Bryce said he was off I5 looking for a place to sleep
Possibly the time AT&T has and the video footage has dosent match by a few minutes but this does put him (or at least his vehicle) at Castaic at 2:08

Ya know... I hate to think this way, but I can see Bryce driving off looking for a dark place to sleep. I had always assumed the 2:08 call was from Castaic. There's no real "suburban area" right off the freeway between Buttonwillow & Castaic. But knowing for sure BL was right there at the Lake Hughes area at 2:08 when he spoke to his mom, indicates he honestly intended to pull off to sleep. And I would guess he called her to tell her this. It would be a huge coincidence for her to call him at the exact moment he pulls off to sleep.

In anycase, say he drove up Lake Hughes at 2:08 looking for a dark spot. He could have parked not too far past the last camera spotting. Not as far as the boat launch area. It's possible someone came along while he was parked & sleeping in a dark, somewhat hidden area & God knows who came along & what kind of bad things took place. Whoever was there then called a friend, took Bryce's car to meet them closer to the freeway & had them follow back up Lake Hughes at 4:20 & it wasn't Bryce driving that 2nd time at 4:20. The 2nd car was an accomplice to someone else. They were trying to take Bryce's car around the gate & crashed unintentionally. I think they need to look at anyone going into local hospitals or urgent cares for suspicious injuries.

I sure hope I'm wrong with this line of thinking.

I saw this while looking for info on the autopsy. Sorry if it's already been posted, I just found it interesting:

"Detectives have also not ruled out whether the [burnt body near Castaic] being found is connected to the body found in Gorman on Aug. 28; however, they are being investigated by separate detectives, Dolson said.

Both autopsy results have been put on a security-level clearance by the Homicide Bureau of the Sheriff&#8217;s Department, according to Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner&#8217;s Office."

"Identification through dental records could take anywhere from 10 to 14 days, Corral said.

The county contracts with forensic odontologists, who are not part of the regular staff of the Coroner&#8217;s Office, Corral said.

The delay comes from having to coordinate with the schedules of the specialist, who have their own practices and to make sure the identifications are positive, she said."

I think there is an explanation for him being at the lake.

1. He decided to sleep in a suburban area. He kept driving while on the phone with his mom and ended up near the lake. He may not have been saying anything substantial because he was driving and did not know where he was. I have done this countless times. Mom calls me when I am driving, I end up driving around away from where I wanted to go and am most likely saying "uh huh uh huh ok bye" He may have intended to sleep in the town of Castaic but ended up staying on the road to finish the call and ended up finding the lake which also has campers so he decided to stay rather than backtrack.

The phone call may have distracted him.

And or...

2. He has few photos on his instagram. Two of them show he and his girlfriend at a lake. Could he have liked lakes? If I were in an unfamiliar area and wanted to sleep in my car I would head to the beach if I was near one. It's an area I trust.

I just looked at the maps, and I have what may be a silly question.

Considering that his car was seen heading to the lake twice (and it was not reported as being seen heading back from the lake between these two times), I've always assumed that Bryce made a circle around the lake or somewhere in the area to end up driving towards the lake twice. However, looking at the map, I can't figure out how he could have made it back to the lake without going the way he came (and thus being seen again on the video) -- maybe the video only faces one direction???

from my desktop investigation, I did a google map search to try and find the site where the SUV was found.

Thefirst shows the distance (approx) from I-5 to crash site, second photo the Y from Lake Hughes Rd left onto Main Ramp Rd, and the third is close up of the Y.

In that third you can see a cell tower site on Lake Hughes Rd, I believe that is where the SUV was driven off of and then landed on Main Ramp Rd, it is the only place on Lake Hughes Rd you could get a car off the road without driving over a embankment or through a gaurdrail.

This does not make any sense. I've never seen an autopsy take this long aside from toxicology tests. They must know something and just aren't telling us especially because there is a security hold. Weird.

I tried to get similar pics and looked at the same exact spot. I am not certain and didn't ask Mike exactly where the crash was but know the car went down about a 15' drop and landed on the passenger side. There was definately a gate and cell tower by the accident site

This is approximate area. BL's car went off Main Ramp Rd (which may have been closed off by the gate at that hour?). His scent was picked up by the K9s around Government Cove Rd which is down the same road closer to the water. The body was found (*edited*) 2 mi further down Lake Hughes Rd

I'm hoping that's good news of no foul play. But I guess it is unknown if there were other cars at this time.

Thank you so much for keeping us updated! It is truly appreciated as all of our hearts are with your family. Praying Bryce is found alive & well. If he's out there right now, as least we know there's water.
