I was going back and checking on the hanging with friends statement I remembered reading about. So many different variations of BL hanging out with a friend or friends in the news reports. In Laguna Niguel? In Buttonwillow? Did he tell this to CHP or mom...or both? *sigh*

“He said to California Highway Patrol later that day that he was heading to Laguna Niguel to hang out with a friend and blow off steam,“ Karen said.

"Shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday - Karen speaks to her son on the phone and asks: “What are you doing?” His response, she said, is: “I’m going to hang with friends later.”"

"A bulletin was issued and a few hours later police found his vehicle at a Kern County rest stop. Bryce told his family he was fine and hanging out with friends."

There is also conflicting information about when his mom first was told that he was going down to Laguna Niguel. (When he got his car keys back? After he left and told his mom he broke up with his girlfriend? When the CHP officer asked what he was doing?) So completely confusing! :banghead:

"A bulletin was issued and a few hours later police found his vehicle at a Kern County rest stop. Bryce told his family he was fine and hanging out with friends."

All quite different.
1.) “He said to California Highway Patrol later that day that he was heading to Laguna Niguel to hang out with a friend and blow off steam,“ Karen said.

2.) 9 p.m. Thursday - responding to a call from the mother, CHP officers stop and search Bryce’s car spotted on Lagoon Drive in Buttonwillow. “Something happened in the whole 10 hours he was around there,” she said.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday - Karen speaks to her son on the phone and asks: “What are you doing?” His response, she said, is: “I’m going to hang with friends later.”

3.) Bryce didn't call his mom after saying that he would. He was planning a trip home, so she got worried about where he was. The family reported him missing to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. A bulletin was issued and a few hours later police found his vehicle at a Kern County rest stop. Bryce told his family he was fine and hanging out with friends.

All conjure different possibilities. Wish we knew what is correct... I am really hoping this "possible sighting" in Oregon pans out (per FB page).

Well ... *if* the sighting in OR is BL and *if* his plan is to go to AK à la Into the Wild then he's part way there. JMO

The girl who posted this for her grandfather is checking with him regarding his shoes and whether he had a tattoo.

She has replied below her initial FB post (Posts by others). States grampa said he was wearing a tight fitted undershirt under another darker shirt, seemed muscular and had red hair... seemed clean and healthy. Post is here, she follows through with more information at end of thread.

If this person turns out to be Bryce, he defiantly wasn't in the car when it went over.

Unless Bryce has found someone/somewhere to sleep, clean up and get a change of clothes, I wouldn't think this is him.

Also, if Bryce's intention was to go off on his own, why would he head south only to end up north of where he started from? Unless, of course, he has a brain injury and is confused.

Well, we know he left Castaic lake... from there, he could have gone in any direction. Makes as much sense that he would go north as it does he would have gone south... or east (Illinois). If picked up by a trucker...

EDIT: Correction - we assume he left Castaic Lake

So we do know he is alive? since he left Castaic Lake ..
(sorry if its a silly question, just trying to catch up)

I guess my point is that he was headed south for a purpose...what that is, we can only speculate. Even though there's some confusion, most articles point to the fact that Bryce did not tell his parents he was headed home. Therefore, it may be that he was not. There has been some speculation that he was headed to meet an unknown friend in San Diego. But he ran out of gas and, as a result of the survey they texted to her, his mother found out he was on the road so he had to then say he was headed home. So, if he in fact left Castaic of his own accord, I would think he would continue on the path he was on, not head back north.

Just thinking out loud.....

We hope and pray he is, but no...we do not know 100% that he is still alive.

Unfortunately no, we don't. We know he wasn't found (deceased) so we are being cautiously optimistic. :)

Looking through Bryce's FB page there are some pictures where it seem he is wearing a white undershirt under a button up.

We know he hasn't been found period. All the theories here are mere speculation. He could be in the lake, he could be hanging from a tree somewhere like Linnea Lenox. He could be anywhere.....Dogs are wrong many times. People are missed in searches all the time.....my husband is in law enforcement so I know what I'm talking about. We are just hoping he is still alive. You can never give up hope. For Pete's sake they are still searching for Kyron Horman, Susan Powell, Gavin Smith, and the list goes on and on. So many others who have been missing for years and just vanished off the face of the earth. Thank god they finally found Hailey Dunn's remains. Not knowing must be the worst. Ugh!!!

I just listened to a old news video that was shot two weeks into the crash, it stated "Investigators say they have no evidence indicating the missing man left the area after phoning his mother that he was going to stop in the area to rest in his car". hmmm

I wonder how the family is deciding where to set up for passing out flyers. Didn't they say Valencia for tomorrow? If so, is that near the crash site? I don't think it is. But not sure.

When they say Starbucks without specifying, it's the one in Castaic, a couple miles from crash site.

I'm sure this has been talked about but if he didn't harm himself which I'm starting to really wonder about period , the 2nd car was a friend who helped him dispose of the car.

Just hoping be surfaces soon if that's the case. I am stumped!
