I am seeing a lot of the same questions/things being posted over and over, so I will try to answer

Family and LE has access to Bryce's FB account
No report or results were released to family on findings on the vehicle (prints, blood etc)
TeamAmber is run by Amber Dubois' mother

I absolutely do. My son did for 4 months.....definitely possible for Bryce as well. Jmo

We are hoping that Bryce is too

I bet the battery will run low, but I guess it took several hours to do so. One time we forget to switch off the light, battery was still fine next morning, but it was a newer one and just the lights. 2 fishermen saw him. Ok..but who saw him after 2.Am? Maybe he drove back to Buttonwillow, and another person drove back to castaic. like I said earlier, it's hard to writing down, what I exactly mean.

No fishermen saw BL that I am aware. Fisherman/men/"officers" discovered BL's crashed SUV at 5:30am, but no sign of BL.
From the timeline:

Friday 5:30 am officers of the California Highway Patrol found his 2003 Toyota Highlander SUV on its side at the bottom of a 15-foot ravine on the Castaic Lake Main Boat Launch access road(Main Ramp Rd. The back window had been shattered.
cell phone, laptop and wallet inside the vehicle.

The time period from ~2:08am (call with Mom and Castaic video of SUV) until 4:20am (video of SUV) is a blank slate - we have no information about BL/his SUV/purchases/pings/etc. We do know that 'Mom' said the 2:08am call with her was the last call he made or was party to - in other word the last call on his phone account.

It has not even been confirmed or not, at least publicly, that BL was ID as the driver of the SUV in Castaic videos.

Dragracerz Where is TES? They are much larger and have been doing this since the 70's and have an excellent track record. Have you contacted Marc Klaas to get in touch with Nancy Grace for this to go National? Why are you only using Team Amber?

Thank you

Also, if he received/sent a text message all he would have to do is delete it off of his phone and there wouldn't be a record of it on his phone or, more than likely, on his cell phone bill. I don't know about all carriers but my cell phone bill only tells me the number of text messages sent/received, not the specific number, date and time each was sent/received.

 You're RIGHT! OMG YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

That is not true. LE has the laptop and cell phone and are able to retrieve texts on phones that were deleted and emails that were sent and deleted on laptops.
I thought my sister had these but she was just informed early on that there were no calls made out of the ordinary, according to the call log on the phone itself
We do not have the results/info from LE as to what else they might have found out about the phone or laptop

Has Dragracerz checked in lately? I can't find any news with Team Amber. I had never heard of this search team until this case although I am familiar with the Amber Dubois

Hallo und herzlich willkommen! :seeya:

Wow, I'm impressed. Feldjäger are great in tracing somebody. I read about some missing girl a few days ago, that the fbi is now on board.
If I got that right, if the vanished is a at high risk missing person, the case is provided to nationwide LE . So every state must have know that bl is missing.(police departments) found this very informative https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=...10cycle/30Abills/0530a01anjmissingpersons.pdfsend from GT-N7105 with Tapatalk 2

Allow me to interject. I ran the search centers for Danielle van dam, Amber Dubois and Chelsea king. When a search center is being established, it can take some time for actual searches to commence as there is much training going on behind the scenes. For example, when our group arrives on scene, we bring two or three members of our organization with us, but then have to train volunteers from the community to do these jobs. There's no other way to say this, but it just takes time. once these groups are trained, the searches really take off and much is accomplished. I have personally worked with both Mark Klaas and Brad Dennis, his search director and with Carrie of Team Amber and can assure you that they are consummate professionals and work tirelessly in their efforts to help the families of missing children. I've noticed that you are concerned that TES isn't involved, please keep in mind that you simply can't have too many search groups involved as it can create more confusion and has the potential to stymy the efforts. If you have too many chefs in the kitchen, somehow the water will become over salted.

@ dragracerz

We're missing a lot of details at what appears to be ground zero ...

  1. Were the SUV keys recovered? Where were they located?
  2. Were the passenger doors locked?
  3. Was the headlight switch/knob/whatever in the on or off position?
  4. Was BL's "green book sack" found in the crashed SUV? At his apt? Not found, it's missing? How about the backpack he used the prior school year? Located? Where?
  5. What kind of drink did BL buy in Buttonwillow? Was the can/cup recovered in the SUV?
  6. Was the engine running when the crashed SUV was discovered by the ?fisherman??
Additionally ... I'd like to know how BL typically reacted when he became very frustrated, with his Mom for example.

They are not a well known search team with as many resources as TES nor have the track record and reputation. Whatever, I'm tired of asking. If it was my son thats one search team I would have on my team even if I had to personally fly toTexas and grab Tim Miller and his crew and bring them back with me LOL. You might want to get team amber to get some PC and media attention because as of now it's lacking and people are losing interest in this case.

Also, when Tim Miller and TES is involved in a search he is always in front of the camera on the news talking about the case to get the word out and updates. I've not seen one person from Team Amber on the news talking about this case nor on the Nancy Grace show.

I hope he is found soon.

Team Amber was trained by Brad Dennis of Klaas kids and are very well respected, they were the team that found Michelle Le.

How many others have they recovered? I believe TES in the 100's and why no PC's?

Be gentle with me, I'm new on the posting, but been reading for weeks.... Here's my burning question: There were two different sightings of a person matching Bryce's description, both posted on the Find Bryce FB page. One on September 10th at the Habit in Valencia (see: https://www.facebook.com/FINDBRYCELASPISA/posts/623898800987860 ) and a few days later on September 12th, at the intersection of McBean and Valencia (see: https://www.facebook.com/FINDBRYCELASPISA/posts/624930760884664) which is 1.4 miles from the first spot. IMO, if I were to believe this is Bryce, and looking back at his behavior from the moment his friends took his car keys, through Buttonwillow, to the trips to Castaic (two) and then to these sightings of someone who is "out of it" or confused, I would (IMO) say that a combination of Adderal, with alcohol, and maybe a few other things mixed in, created a fugue state originally, which was then made worse by the accident. (Some 29 years ago, I rolled my car down a slope, and thanks to a seat belt, stepped out of the car, and locked the door, though there were no windows remaining!)

Bryce could be walking, just walking, aware enough to seek water, but with a small brain bleed or other head trauma (swelling). Would explain why the cell phone was left behind. I think of my accident and how I was determined to find a phone at a gas station. Then, could not remember a single phone number.

See attached map for sightings. Hopefully great effort is being made to search McBean and surrounding streets for places Bryce could curl up and take a nap unseen. Just my musings... Truly hope we find him, safe and sound:newhere:.

People have mentioned TES so many times in regards to this case -- no offense -- but I think the family knows the organization and it's reputation by now. Also in the beginning, they did ask TES to get involved and TES was not given permission to help search.

I think it's easy to judge the steps that they are taking from the outside when you are not part of the decision-making process. I trust that the family is doing everything in their power to find Bryce, and they feel that Team Amber offers the help that they need.

I wish I had the time off from work and the money to fly out to help....just like a few other cases on WS.

I know what I will be doing if I ever hit the lottery....

I've followed missing cases and trials for many years and coming from a family of LE I'm just going by what I know and have seen done over the years in missing person cases.

I've only seen Ambers mom on the news in the last week for being upset over a book that was written about Amber and Chelsea's murder but nothing mentioned about Bryce. I'm just trying to help as this is what this site is all about.

Hi, I've been a lurker. Just wanted to put my two cents in. I've been involved in two search for missing people within the past 3 years. My husband's niece and my husband. I was the one who found my husband's niece body and almost found my husband's body, but thankfully turned around very close before I reached it. Both were from suicide. Both very different cases. The niece was 19, bipolar and had just broke up with her boyfriend. my husband at age 30 was completely a shock. Never seemed depressed. We didn't have any marital or financial problems. My only theory that makes sense to me is that he had some sort of mental breakdown or onset of mental illness that he was hiding. I found a podcast on his phone, the last thing he downloaded which was about schizophrenia. I know I'm starting to ramble but it should be pointed out that schizophrenia does have onset around Bryce's age, and is often linked to marijuana abuse, and could explain BL's odd behavior.

As far as the search, in both cases, both bodies were found between a half mile and a mile from the car they left. Both searches were sending people very far from the car sites to places that seemed very unlikely to me. Both bodies were found close to visible trails, but were a few feet off kind of hidden off the trail. Helicopters and LE both failed to find the bodies, how I have no idea, they were not far from the cars and were in fairly obvious areas, but were missed by both volunteers, LE, dogs, and helicopters initially. It also should be noted that I used search dogs and they picked up scents in locations that do not make sense at all in terms of where the bodies were found.

I live very close to Castaic and have been wanting to help but don't know if it would be an emotionally healthy thing for me to do. I did drive up there Wednesday afternoon and found the crash site, watched hawks and buzzards, tried to sense where he would go, but felt very odd and not very safe physically or emotionally by myself there. The lake is also so big and all the places and trails he could be quite overwhelmed me. Has the mile radius from the crash site been searched thoroughly? I also am interested about the other side of the dam across from the crash site. I did see a few vultures fly that way, but had no idea how I could get across there safely. It was also frustrating that the lake wanted to charge me when I said I was helping so I had to park up off Lake Hughes and spend most of my time walking just to get to where I wanted to start searching. I also drove by the crash site yesterday but did not see any search teams out.

I don't know if any of my rambling helps at all, but I just wanted to put out there that I think a very thorough search from the crash site should be performed. And that as they are searching they should be looking with the eyes of someone who may be suicidal or have had a psychotic break. Anywhere he could have hidden, maybe OD'd, anywhere he could have gotten stuck or hurt from, ie jumping from the dam to the lower lagoon. I know this is morbid, but it just seems like it should be ruled out. These were all things that LE seemed to dismiss and rule out in both my husbands and nieces case, but were unfortunately untrue and the search they performed just wasn't thorough enough.

Tamrabbit:

Welcome to our group! You have offered great insight. I am sorry to hear of the devastating losses of your niece and husband.
