Hello. I am new here but have been lurking for a couple of months. Started lurking in the Sandy Hook threads. I just wanted to share a link that I don't think has been posted. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I have not read every single post in all 4 Elisa Lam threads but I have tried to read most. :)

Anyway the link is here. I have not seen that picture of her posted anywhere, which is why I thought this was "new."

The link is about 7 high school students (EL included) who each won $800 to continue their education. It says "Future Leaders" at the top. :( The actual text reads:

Anyone wanting a refresher, this news video is pretty good, one of the better ones

In the background of this video, there's a rooftop swimming pool and is either the Stay hotel or Cecil hotel's pool...I'm not sure

Some folks on WS thought Elisa chose the water cistern for a late night skinny dip when there might've been a pool instead

She was probably killed by a staff member with a door to the roof as we had all suspected at the earliest hour. He may have gagged her and killed her accidentally while they had consensual sex, and he hid the body because he was scared and didn't know how to make the problem go way.

But I thought that it might be a possibility that she could have killed herself, having spent a couple of weeks crashing alone in her room - providing someone had stolen her pills. This is because she blogged that she could stay in bed like this for a long period of time in her darkest moods.

But I've just remembered her old blog where she talks about experiencing these dark feelings at the time they occur, and that her blog is her only means of communicating to the outside world. So if her pills had been stolen, then she would have continued to blog about it, unless her laptop was stolen as well.

Does anyone know if her laptop is with LE? I'm assuming she didn't blog from her phone, which is with LE.

This is really a valuable contribution. Thanks Anansie. According to Dr. Henry Lee, a renowned expert on forensics, figuring out whether Elisa drowned or not should be fairly "straightforward." According to media reports (which as Lee notes are not always reliable), the coroner found no sign of trauma that would explain her death. If that's true, wouldn't that rule out the theory that she went into the water tank alive?... At any rate, they should be able to figure out whether that happened fairly soon, right. I tend to think that she was dead before being dumped in the water tank, but this should be easy to figure out, it seems.

Also, my own tentative belief has been that she was not in her right mind due most likely to drugs or medications of some sort or possibly a psychotic break and that this made her vulnerable to a predator. And we should find out whether drugs were involved when the toxicology report comes out.

Both databases don't give names. I ran a 10 year search in the first database on Asian women between the ages of 10 and 29 years and not much popped up.

I checked the same decade search in the 2nd database for a 500 ft radius around the Cecil Hotel, and only theft-type of crime appears, a total of about 30 events.

Both databases didn't provide any names.

Because the emotional impulse to kill or abuse outweighed the instinct for caution.

And once EL was dead, it would be hard to remove the body from the hotel, unless you were a guest.

A guest could take the body out in a large suitcase.

But an employee or a long-term resident would be concerned about being caught, or seen, leaving with a large bag. And lots of employees would use the garbage disposal system, so that wouldn't be an obvious solution either.

Also, there have been thousands of cases where a person is killed and their body hidden in the place the murderer lives or works at.

Some recent ones involving only the work place include Annie Le and Eridania Rodriguez.

If she was indeed murdered her killer was somewhat organized. He had a dump site in mind in advance or has thought about the water tank for sometime.

Good post X Files -- I agree, I too think she was suffocated, maybe like those kinky sex acts goofy folks do placing a container bag over someone's head to stimulate better sex....LOL.. I don't get that one...LOL...someone explain that act to me!

But if Elisa's TOD/time of death was Feb 14-16 and all of us assumed she was dead as early as Jan 31, how would her body be preserved for so long?

My other thought is if she was in the tank with the right temperatures, could this delay the de-comp?

Her body was putrified, so it is no longer grossly straightforward as water enters all the tissues. We have to wait for pathology to tells us on a microscopic scale whether the tissue was dead before the water entered, or still alive - I think the terms used are hypotonicity vs necrosis.

We do not KNOW what personal belongings LE has.

We don't KNOW that she had a laptop with her. There has been no reference to it by LE or in MSM

We don't KNOW that LE has her cell phone. The only reference we have from LE is:

I do not think it was consensual sex or any BDSM sex game that went wrong.
I do not have the answers. I would need to read a report from the medical examiner for cause of death, time of death.
Media isn't always correct.
She could have been held alive. Unfortunately, I do not know. Unless she was frozen, but I doubt that. We will know in 6-8 weeks if they choose to release more info.
 
There was a news report that all her belonging were in her room, including her computer.

If this report was true, then LE has her computer.

Can't access magri**esque's archives and her tumblr seems to have changed. It is now Beatify... with a picture of a girl looming off the side of a tall building.

I'm not simply stating it's Dec 31st; it's fact. Go to that user's archive page (add /archive after the URL -- the user she reblogged it from), go to December, and you can see it, too! :) I'm not sure I can link it here, since it isn't Elisa's.

I find it weird that her queue is emptying regularly at midnight every day now, when it wasn't emptying for awhile, and was a different interval before. Weird that she manually programmed all of these. But so far, every one has been a post from before her disappearance.
