She has no recollection of how she ended up in hospital or even her own identity.
But the vivid memories of Australia has led this woman, known only as 'Sam' to call on the public for help in a bid to track down her family after she was found on February 1 in Southern California apparently suffering from amnesia.
The woman, aged in her early 50s, was

My guess- she might have had a transient/homeless type existence on Hawaii. & She might have found a way to come to California to get on Medi-Cal (which has been a good gov. medical insurance for someone with cancer.) Yes she isn't a state resident yet but there are emergency provisions in some cases.

Sadly ovarian cancer is pretty fatal & usually fast-moving at that.....This whole lack of identity issue might not matter much longer...

Do you guys remember the movie "Overboard"?

She was 'discovered' in critical condition. Left laying there, she surely would have died. She did not voluntarily go to a hospital for help. While under hospital care and in what sounds like a comatose state, they discovered her tumors and took it upon themselves to operate and remove them. The doctors were not surprised that she has amnesia as it is a common, let's say typical, symptom of her ovarian tumors.

My analysis: someone left her for dead and is refusing to come forward.

My prediction: eventually she will be recognized by a past friend and this case will take a dark turn.

I'm extremely curious about the dates that the two photos were taken. If she was found in February, and has had chemo after surgery since then, why does she still have a full head of fairly long hair?

Again: I call shenanigans. MOO and all...

I keep checking back in hoping for an update!

Hello,
I'm a long time lurker but I've only posted once or twice. So please point out any faux pas.
I've been following this story and it really doesn't sit well with me.
No media record of her being found in February? It seems like the local law enforcement would have issued a media release in an attempt to find her identity. If only to find her medical record, which I assume would be useful for them to have if she has cancer.
Silence from February to June when the page began circulating. It has been picked up by the MSM but there are so far no comments from any official agencies to verify the information. All that is being reported is from the FB page.
The page first circulated the photo asking for people to contact Aaron Haass of the FBI if they have any information. The phone number listed is registered to a company called "Us Fbi" (http://us-fbi.carlsbad.baystat.org/business-ca2/us-fbi-550e61f1d1276dd4668d82b5/)
the address listed is the Sandiego FBI branch, but no amount of searching could link that company name and agent to that branch. The manager of the company is listed as Pat Connolly who is a former FBI agent but is now a professor (https://www.linkedin.com/pub/patrick-connolly/6b/b99/a96).
I have emailed the media liaison for the Sandiego FBI office and asked him to verify if the phone number is actually officially linked with the San Diego FBI and whether he could verify if the request for information came from their office.
I have also emailed the media liasion for Calfire and asked if they could verify whether any southern Californian Firefighters had found a woman matching Sam's description on Feb 1st.
The page edited out the link to the FBI agent today and replaced it with a link to interpol: http://www.interpol.int/notice/search/missing/2015-25715
MOO the Interpol link is not enough evidence for me that her story is real. I'd be interested to know the process of listing someone as missing on that site. I believe this might be an elaborate hoax or someone who is in need of psychiatric help as was the case for Samantha Azzopardi ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ed-Australian-student-Samantha-Azzopardi.html ) and Robin van Helsun ( http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/jun/15/mystery-forest-boy-dutch-runaway ).
Again all MOO but I will be happy to be proven wrong if any part of this story can be verified by authorities. I would also be more convinced if they continued to release photos or videos of Sam or even just photos of the clothes she was wearing.

I have seen no police agency of any kind backing this up and I have been following this lady and her story very closely.

My question is whether the woman herself is part of the scam, or whether she really is lost and confused and is being exploited by the people who are supposed to take care of her. I'm inclined to the latter explanation at the moment. Subject to changing my mind on further evidence, of course.

This is from her face book page.If anyone see's this please post it so I can see it ok?

Maybe she's wearing a wig?

Wow, thanks for all your hard work. I, too, questioned the FBI agent, but I didn't go further than googling him and finding no record of his existence! Let us know what you find out.

She looks a little like Janice Klein of Plano, TX, who disappeared and was found a few days later at an airport. Also an amnesia situation.

Tonight an interview with Sam...11 pm on NBC Channel 7

I don't see anything on the nbc San Diego web site. Maybe they will post it after it airs. I'll keep my eyes open.
Edit: The video she has posted on her facebook page is actually at the bottom of the NBC San Diego page. It has a caption below it that reads, "How the San Diego Foundation and Girl Scouts San Diego are teaming up to bring the outdoors to more residents in under-served communities." Unfortunately, I can't get it to play on my computer.

On the "found woman" facebook page, a couple of posters asked if more pictures could be shown. The moderated asked for for people to respect Sam's privacy. It seems if they could post a profile pic it might be helpful.
 :waitasec: :dunno:

JMO but unless she was mugged or left for dead by someone she knew she would have in jewelry etc wouldn't she. I can't find any story about fire fighters finding anyone at that time either. Hope she isn't another Lori ruff or benjamin because those cases did my head in lol

what happened with lori ruff? we still don't know who she was right?

I hope the police will investigate if they haven't already & charges will be laid if it is discovered this is a hoax, which I'm 99% positive it is.

They just had a tease for the interview. Looks like it's also on NBC LA.

Just watched the interview. No new info. She does have the exact same gap between her front teeth as the woman posted above.
