I gotta say I'm very skeptical of the woman who has come forward with the info about seeing him (the one with the dog). It took her until Sunday when she saw his picture to call? When you heard the news of a missing girl in the park and then it turns into a crime scene, why on earth would you not call if you thought it that odd?

And, that was not why they searched that area again at all (as a side note).

The article states it was Sunday afternoon when she saw him and that she called the police a few hours afterwards when she was watching the news and saw that it was the same man who had just been arrested.

"Sangha contacted authorities, and on Monday took search teams to the locations she'd spotted Gardner. The next day Chelsea's body was discovered near the lake in a shallow grave."

Interesting - especially the "comments". I kinda thought that at first, on (and by) Sunday that park was pretty much "covered" by LE. Plus, LE found her near where they found the shoe - the Sheriff said that in the presser - so that area would have been sealed off. Although the article is kinda vague about just exactly where she saw him in regards to the areas of the park.

But it goes along with him being "damp and muddy" at the restaurant though.

Acting like he was "drunk"? Oh IDK - well have to wait and see on this one.

Mick, is it possible that what you were seeing was a lake in a drought condition? I don't know about the lakes down there, but in our area the last 3 years they have been as for as 60% down and now they are full to the brim which would give you very different views of the same lake.

Oh yes, definitely....the water was down maybe 30 feet from where the high water mark had been.

I agree. Time will tell.

Oh, got it, ok, but now that makes even less sense. If she saw him Sunday, there is no way she saw him anywhere near where her body was as that area was completely secured and not open to anyone but LE. So... there is no way she could have taken police back to the area where they found the body because she couldn't have been walking there in the first place. Am I totally missing something or misreading this?

Are the google maps showing the lakes full or drought depleted??

Mick,
Let's see if someone on here can answer the question about the lake levels over the last few years. I"m thinking that if the lake level was down 30 ft. from high mark that may give some what of a "time stamp" on your vision.

The interview on John & Ken also mentioned that his biological father died around a year ago. And that he had gone most of his life without a father figure other than the stepfather whom the relative suggested was the "only" reason he graduated from high school. He also said something to the effect that he "didn't want to talk about he relationship he had with his mother". Whoa! The one other thing that I wanted to bring up is that he said he was an electrical journeyman, but also had experience in framing and "concrete" ..... I'd be looking at construction sites he worked on if indeed I thought we were looking for more bodies! Oh, he also mentioned that JAG crashed that gold car around a month ago, so 2/4/09. Thank you passionflower for such a good synopsis! And thanks JB for the link!

So here we have evidence of 'Adverse Early Childhood Experiences'. We can google up pages to see how much that can effect later development and how people go through life. It sounds like Gardner had his share of some pretty serious ones.

So this woman saw JAG on Sunday wearing a red shirt and blackpants? Was this just before his arrest? He was not wearing a red shirt when he was arrested.
that would explain the wet clothing while at the restaurant.
Appeared drunk?
Wasn't the park completely covered by LE on Sunday? How would he have been able to get into the water with all the LE?
Maybe I'm missing something here....

She could not have been there Sunday. The park was secured, they were still actively searching and she would not have been allowed in for a walk.

When I watched it on TV I could have sworn they said she was there on Thurs.

Yes, Sarx, since Chelsea was found closer to the shore than what I'd seen, and there are others missing in the area, I began to wonder if I'd seen a composite of events, or a previous crime.

I will say the person doing the burying was very much 'like drunk' but it was drunk with the emotions of killing and confusion over what he'd done/fear of discovery. He was on a full rush from that, though may have also been under the influence of a stimulant of some sort.

I live next to the lake. I don't have statistics but I can tell you the lake level has been very low for years. If anything, it is a little higher now because we have had more rain than usual.

I don't know how accurate the above report is. Yes he received a citation (assigned to the Temecula court so he probably got it out in the Lake Elsinore area) on January 30th, 2010 that was filed with the Riverside Superior Court system on February 10, 2010 (and sent to the DMV on the 17th) however there is no way that he would have been required to mail in proof of registration and insurance (or pay a fine) in such a short amount of time. I hate b.s. news reporting!

No, you are correct. It is a little far fetched but I think the way the article is written is making it sound like the lady saw him right by where Chelsea's body was found however I am sure it will come out that (if she saw him) she saw him in a completely different area of the lake that wasn't being searched.

I got the impression he was booking, heading, out of the park when she saw him.

Mick, Im sorry to say this but that sounds like LAKE ELSINORE! Can someone put some pics of LAKE ELSINORE.

On the link you can watch the video of the interview. She says she was on a trail bordering Lake Hodges with her 5 year old daughter and her 4 dogs on Sunday afternoon when she heard a crackling in bushes and then saw a drunk man come stumbling up the embankment from the water (it sounds like a road was right by the trail?) Hmmmmm???? (Oh and it also says that the parks NOW have signs posted telling people to "buddy up" when they are in the park.)

I'm sorry, I think I'm missing something: Are you a psychic Mick?

I've looked around Lake Elsinore, but nothing like what I 'saw'. Lake Elsinore is flatter around the edges, as I recall, and from the map. Used to sky dive ouit of lake Elsinore Paracenter in the 70's. Now those where the good old days!! So I've seen a lot of ariel views of Lake Elsinore, but the google map makes it look much more buildt up than then.

quote from the article:

"Becky Sangha's chilling account of coming face to face with Chelsea King's accused killer started as she drove into the park. She spotted an inebriated man stumbling up an embankment, who later accosted her along a trail"

I think this is just a poorly written article. At least that sentence is very poorly written. It makes it sound like see saw him twice - once when she was driving in and then again when her "acosted her" on the trail - which wasn't what happened as stated later on. It says he was walking toward them reather quickly - but nothing of "acosting her". Remember we can't rely on the all the media. I want to see a different reporter's account of this woman's story.
