I think going with this would be a huge mistake.

Several anesthesiologists have spoken out about this subject and said it is impossible to overdose on propofol by ingesting it.

The doctors said some of the propofol can leak into the stomach after death once the liver and kidneys are no longer functioning.

IMO

This just shows the defense team did not do their homework!

I'm not sure if there will be a separate trial thread at this point, so I'm just posting the latest here.

Here is a link to a livestream. Tomorrow we should have a better idea if any local news outlets will be livestreaming, and if so, I will post those also.

I just found two more links:

http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/livenow?id=8366366

Also, before the THs begin their assault of the victim in this case, I thought I'd post an article by Charles Thomson, independent journalist and no Jackson fan, from June 2010. It is an excellent analysis of his profession and its shortcomings with regard to the 2005 trial.

This just shows the defense team did not do their homework!

I also heard on IS just now that a group of medical students drank propofol as an experiment and no one felt the affects of it.

I forgot which country the test was done in but Walgren is wanting the study to come in.

IMO

This is from September 7th:

"At a hearing today, the judge ruled that jurors can hear from a prosecution witness about a study done on piglets involving propofol.

Pastor said he saw no basis for precluding Dr. Steven Shafer, a prosecution expert witness, from testifying in Murray's trial about a study of intravenous and rectal administration of propofol in piglets.

The defense had objected to Shafer -- whom the prosecution referred to as an "internationally recognized expert in the field of anesthesiology and pharmacology" -- testifying about the study, which was published in an international anesthesiology journal.

The judge deferred a ruling on the defense's objection to Shafer's testimony about a second study in Chile in which six students volunteered to drink propofol and submit to blood testing at various intervals. That study, which was recently done, has not been published yet, according to Deputy District Attorney David Walgren.

In court papers filed today, Walgren wrote that Shafer has "previously opined that the defendant conducted multiple egregious and unconscionable violations of the standard of care and that `there is almost nothing in Murray's care of Michael Jackson that reflected the actions of a trained physician."'

The prosecutor noted that Shafer believes there is "zero possibility that the propofol was orally ingested."

I think that was in Chile. Stomach acids probably destroy the drug and the majority would be filtered out by the liver before entering the general circulation. Much different from an IV dose.

Am looking forward to hearing/seeing just how 'Propofol qualified' the defense attorney really is!

I just walked through the living room and saw Rickki Kleiman on IS.

She had tickets for the This Is It concert. She held them up so Christi could see them. She said she would never part with them.

Her husband had to sign for them when they were delivered on June 18, 2009.

She said she and her husband have always been big MJ fans and was devastated when she heard he had died.

IMO

Huh, I thought there'd be more interest in this case-- I'll follow along. Not sure how I feel about all of it. thanks for the articles :)

I would think the pace will pick up as soon as opening statements begins.

I just tuned in to insession to watch. I have very limited knowledge of anything to do with this case. Already Jinkosaurus is grating.

Thoughts I had had since watching is most of the witnesses in this case are likey to be as absure as the Jackson family. And why didnt anyone close to Micheal do anything to as he became worse and worse thoughout the years? Is Conrad a victim of the spiral Micheal has be afforded his entire life? His getting every unreasonable request granted and will this trials witness contribute to the spiral even after his death if Conrad is a victim of it?

I hope it is okay I started a trial thread.
