FINALLY! Matthew Scott Sullivan is looking at 26 yrs. to Life in prison. His defense attorney is throwing all kinds of spaghetti to see what sticks, but IMO his attempts are feeble and weak. There's plenty of evidence proving Matthew killed his wife and hid her body for two years before dumping it in the water.

Do we know if there will be any media coverage on this? I’m not local to San Diego where I’m sure they will provide coverage, but I’m wondering if there will be any way to find out what goes on in court if you’re not local. I have my own reservations about what I think happened, I just wanna know how it’s all going to play out. Super sad all around!

One of the witnesses today was a best friend of Elizabeth's.

Despite living on opposite coasts, Harris said she and Elizabeth talked every day. They met while working together at Hampton University in Virginia. Calandra Harris said the last conversation she ever had with Elizabeth was on the day before she went missing in October 2014.

I just want to point out that the Defense is trying to make Elizabeth sound like the impulsive, untrustworthy one when it seems likely Matthew was already in a serious affair.

So when Elizabeth went missing, Harris said she was worried, especially when she saw Sullivan's new Facebook post.

"I noticed that he posted that he was in a relationship with Kay Taylor," Harris testified.​

"Less than 30 days after and Liz was missing," Harris said.​

Thirty minutes into listening to this Defense Attorney and I have some strong criticism. First off, he's boring as a bland bowl of gruel. We all know the marriage was in serious trouble. Get to the point. Second, he's bad mouthing Elizabeth to the max, as though she deserved to be killed by her husband. MOO, this is a murder trial and it's irrelevant if Elizabeth was a good or bad spouse or parent; regardless, it didn't give Matthew permission to stab her to death.

What's driving me up a wall is Defense attorney Marcus DeBose starts every single sentence with "the evidence will show"...that Elizabeth did this... the evidence will show that she saw a divorce attorney... the evidence will show that Matthew called his mom in Minnesota and asked her to come to San Diego. Every single action or fact he considers "evidence".

Just my own opinion. Rant over for now, but I'm just not sure I can listen to Mr. DeBose much longer.

You caught more of his name than I did. I tried rewinding, but still didn't catch it. They didn't show his face either. Why? I think his name is in old news articles.

Anyways, the Defense kept trying to get her father to say something bad about Elizabeth, but her Dad kept saying her actions, as a young person growing up, were typical of most young adults. Honestly, I don't see how even if she didn't come home from a party on time as a teen matters to this case.

Defense is trying to lead to the last days of her life when she might have been sleeping in a shelter or park, definitely avoiding being in the presence of Matthew. Her friend was able to witness Matthew being abusive when on facetime with Liz. She was probably afraid to be home with Matthew who was probably acting aggressive..., and lo and behold, did actually end up killing her when she was in the house with him.

Lots of marriages end ugly, but people get through the divorce. Elizabeth had just spoke to a divorce attorney so that is what she planned to do until Matthew killed her. I don't believe for a minute those were self inflicted wounds from a mirror shard.

Same observations I had on the defense attorney @Curious Me ! Once she spoke to that divorce lawyer she was in trouble...

I too tried re-winding - when the DA said his name - that's where the Witts comes from - and then the defense attorney called him by name - where the Bricks came from - tried re-winding that one too - just couldn't make it out!
