In the open access page, from clicking "minutes" it mentions a trial date in July. I'm not at all good at reading the language of law, but I hope it means that a trial date will be set then?

PRE-TRIAL SET FOR 05/26/2015 AT 8:30 IN DEPARTMENT M2. DEFENDANT ORDERED TO APPEAR.

TIME WAIVERS

DEFENDANT WAIVES TIME TO 05/26/2015 PLUS 60 DAYS.

SET LAST DATE FOR TRIAL TO 07/27/2015.

http://openaccess.sb-court.org/Open...code=AINFO&actiondate=20150422&actiontime=8.3

I believe that means that Chris has the right to have the trial date set no later 7/27/15. Chris can and probably will waive that right.

So, does this mean we can sleuth her? :please:

Yes, since she has been named a POI, she is sleuthable. ;)

I have been sleuthing her since it was reported that she was a POI. Unfortunately, I can't find anything. I thought with the way she spelled her name NicHole < with an extra h that it would be easier, but it didn't help at all. I know that she was living with Chris and his parents in Anchorage Alaska when he was arrested. I'm hoping someone who's much better at sleuthing than I am (95% of you all) can find more than I did

As far as CL inviting another person along on the hunting trip, I don't feel that proves any innocence. He was expecting that to be a "no" and was selling the trip to Erin as a romantic getaway with a surprise. If the 3rd person had said "yes" then I would speculate that CL would have changed the date of one of the trips.

I feel in my heart that Nichole had some influence or role but I do not know what. Did she meet them at the park? It is the logistics of it that get me. What did she do with the child when she was away?

I'm not convinced that NL was physically complicit in the actual murder itself, however, I strongly believe she was involved at some point. I think she knew about it after the fact, at the very least, and helped CL with all or part of his lies. I'm curious to know if they are still together and if she's still supporting him. I think if she ends up leaving him he'll sing like a canary regarding any involvement she may have had or it's possible he'll try to protect her so that she's able to raise their child since we know he won't be out of prison for a very, very long time, if ever.

As it turned out the 3rd person did eventually end up saying yes.CL simply sent him on a wild goose chase to JNP.That could have been his plan all along.Arrange to meet somewhere and then simply not show up.

That kinda sounds like making an alibi for himself? "Hey, I couldn't of done it because I'd invited X to go with me but he never showed up. Would I have invited him if I was planning on murdering someone"?

I agree with la2cabo on NL coming into play after the fact. If you remember, CL was said to be gone, didn't come home, and in fact wasn't there when LE went to interview. I think NL put 2+2 togetger and got him to crack with details. I see her pretending to be strong but not following through so if she was involved more so, I think she was the mastermind/planner and expected CL to follow through solo.

I can't believe I let Mother's Day go by without sending warm wishes to Erin, Mrs. Heavilin, and truthbeknown!
:tears:
Please know you all were in my mind. My daughters and I were baptized on Mother's Day morning, together. My eldest daughter also debuted in our church orchestra (she plays the alto sax). Both girls sang in the kid's choir in the service following our baptism. Not a dry eye in the house (and for this :websleuther: it was all the more bittersweet....)

In the midst of a very busy day, we had a special prayer request submitted to our Pastor, and dedicated Desert Song in your honor.

I apologize for the delay in updating the thread. Always know that Erin and your entire family remains in my thoughts, in my heart, and in my prayers. :heartluv:

There is a lyric from Desert Song that has become a favorite quote of mine. I hope these words (and the song), will be if some solace to you....

Thank you so much. I love this song.

It is so NOT fair that the killer always has more rights than the victim, who isn't here to speak for herself. Especially during trials, the defense can just throw anything out there about the victim, with no evidence at all and it becomes a FACT!

It's sickening, how defense teams get away with victim bashing, some naive jurors may think "this must be true-this person knows the law" I know there's a member of EC's family here, and back when, someone brought up the " i bet they trash EC's character and put her on trial"--where the aunt said,"good, there's absolutley nothing they can dig up on her",,, or something to that effect, and I just wanted to say, brace yourself, they will say some horrible things as fact, has nothing to do with the truth about Erin, --- it's a tactic they use to make the victim less likeable to the jury--and utter slander and defamation, no respect for the dead or the victim's family, But yes, they WILL stoop that low and it should be against the law.

I hope nobody tries to trash Erin. Hasn't she already paid enough? RIP Erin. Even though I don't check in as often as I would like to lately my thoughts and prayers are always with Erin, Truthbeknown and their loved ones.
