The only way I can think of without a DNA test is if she had a pretty good idea when she was ovulating and for whatever reason wasn't having sex with her husband during that timeframe. This makes me wonder if that is why the husband said she was 2 months pregnant but she only apparently got confirmation of the pregnancy 3 wks ago on Father's Day. Most women who are wanting to get pregnant would do the test after the first missed period.

If they weren't panicking.

A poster here previously shared about a Marine they knew who had gotten discharged for having an affair with another Marine's wife. Evidently, USMC deals with this harshly. Yowza, talk about motive!

yes, that was me. It's even worse if one Marine outranks another, especially if one is an officer (the cheater) and one is enlisted (being cheated on).

Is it possible, or known, whether her husband had been away at the crucial time and had already determined he could not be the father? And she was hoping to get a commitment from the BF before speaking to her mother?

Some women do not stop having periods when they are pregnant. But I think there would be other noticeable changes she would certainly recognize. Maybe she did know all along.

My goodness, the claws are certainly out over on the Locate Erin facebook page. They really jumped on that woman for posting the story from the radio station. As I was reading the article, something occurred to me: IF the article is accurate, and Erin was having an affair, "staying overnight at the horse rescue" would be an excellent cover for not being home overnight. And it could also explain why her husband made that assumption the day she went missing.

This is totally out there. But what if mom already knew and that's why she believed son-in-law to be innocent?

All the talk about how close Erin was with her mom, she may have told her mom she wanted out of her marriage and had a BF. Perhaps even in that 1.5 hour conversation.

Just speculating out loud.

I don't think that's "out there" at all. IMO, it could be a real possibility.

So, basically, process of elimination. :blushing:

I mean.... if she wasn't having sex with her husband, but was with a boyfriend, I'm sure she knows who the dad is!

If they weren't panicking.

which, she likely shouldn't have been if the baby was her husbands...especially if they had been trying (which would make sense if she had a miscarriage earlier in the year)

tongue in cheek> if you are not sleeping or having sex with your husband for a period of time and you end of pregnant you can rule him out as the father. and if he knows you are not having sex with him< still have tongue in cheek> and you end up pregnant he knows he is not the father as well. and if he knows of a neighbor who has been friendly to his wife then he might suspect who the father might be.

Jonathan's possible motive: What if her miscarriage wasn't a "miscarriage"??

I find it interesting that they haven't removed the comments with the link to the article yet and it was posted pretty almost immediately after the new FB posting.

unless she lies about the age of the baby/how far along she is

And why they seem to be so singlemindedly searching in JTNP

Mel

I still don't understand why there is a reason to believe she is in JT Park, even if she was seen there earlier. The car COULD have travelled anywhere between JT Park and where it ended up; the location is probably within about a half hour one way or another, based on statistics. [I'll guess to the east; more remote.] If the police and family have been focusing the search in Joshua Tree and she's not there, there will not be an audit completed later on why the failure took place. I posted the things they should have done from the start a few pages ago. There is no reason, especially when the possibilities are so broad due to the terrain, not to take a few basic steps every time a person goes missing.

when you are between 2 and 3 months pregnant there is not much time frame to lie about. this story will prove to be the correct one. just the tip of the iceberg. LE know exactly what happened and where to search.

So from the article Salem posted, the alleged married bf's story does not add up. It possibly contradicts Jon's account that Erin was going to JTP that morning?

Interesting: There used to be 2 FB pages. "Praying for Erin Corwin" and "Locate Erin". Now there is only the "Locate Erin" page. There was a female who was obviously close to Erin, lived in the same building, and posted regularly on the "Praying..." page. She may have even been the Admin on the page but I don't know that for certain. Now that this story has come out, I wonder if it is her husband that may be involved? I'm not posting any names and not sleuthing non named people! I'm just observing. This female does not seem to have any posts on the "Locate Erin" page.

BBM - if there's no basis for their last report on this case, I think they'll be losing a few awards.

I'm sure LE will not be happy with this story, they went to great pains to keep everything quiet until they felt it should be released. I have mixed feelings on the subject personally. Does it help or hurt a case, to release critical details at a certain point?
