I contacted one of the Streetwise "kids" (all grown up now!) as well as a self-proclaimed Streetwise groupie on Facebook. I didn't mention WS, I just said that I recently saw the film and was curious to know where all of the kids are now. (which is true!) I mentioned I was interested in knowing about Kim in particular since there had had not been much verified information about her since the film.

The fan replied first and said that even though she is friends with several SW Kids on FB, she has not been able to figure out what happened to Kim.

The SW Kid replied today and said that she hasn't spoken to Kim in "years" but couldn't remember when it was. She also said she would like to talk to her but can't locate her.

None of that doesn't rule out the possible Kim/Andrea connection like I was hoping it would. So, I guess my sleuthing was pointless but I thought you guys would be interested to know. :)

Ask if they knew "City Beat" Andrea.

If anyone remembers or knows the whereabouts of Andrea (pronounced Awn-dray-uh) who used to hang out with City Beat please contact us or leave a message on the Disco Music link below. Hopefully, it will be Andrea herself!

Some people called her "Big Mouth Andrea" - no clue why since she was not loud; nor her mouth big. Others called her "Spaghetti Woman" since she was Italian or said that she was. She had Black hair that was medium long but really ratted out and had some curl to it. (Duh! Who didn't, eh?) Wore bright RED and sometimes Black lipstick and heavy eye makeup. Liked black, red and pink colored clothes and lot's of odd jewelry. Crap! Sounds like every one of us again doesn't it?

This is the Andrea (Possibly born 1967) that used to hang out with The Brian's, Lee Rasmussen, Robert, Susan Sortor, Debbie, Ray, Morgan, Helen, Mercy, Pauline and a whole lot more at CB.

We are looking for her to make sure she is safe and basically still with us. Thanks a ton, everyone and think hard if you knew her or remember her.

Hopefully, someone will remember more about her and where she is now, though. Thanks again! - Batcave Brian - Brian Mc

Link code time saver- I just learned a cool trick; paste in the URL subject, then grab the URL; high light the text for the URL subject; click on the link icon; paste in the URL; it will automatically throw the highlighted text as the URL subject! Neat! I knew you could do it with the other tags but didn't know it worked for links too. What a huge time saver!

Your sleuthing was definitly not pointless!! The inability of someone to locate this Kim means we need to locate this Kim so we can definitvly rule her out. There is IMO too much similarity not to rule this possibility out conclusivly.

10 Mysterious Cases Involving Unidentified People
#2 Huntington Beach Jane Doe

On April 1, 1990, a young woman stepped onto Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, California, and was instantly killed after being struck by two vehicles. She carried no identification, but wore one very unique item: a ring made of human hair. When the media published a sketch of the woman, many residents came forward to claim they had interacted with her. She had told some people that her name was Andrea and that she was 25 or 26, though she looked young enough to be between 16 and 18 years old.

One resident claimed that “Andrea” was a homeless transient and that he let her spend the night with his family. This is where he witnessed the woman cut off a chunk of her hair and wrap it around her finger as a ring. Other residents who spoke with her gave conflicting stories about her being from Virginia and New York. One person said the woman mentioned she was adopted and was searching for her birth family, and also claimed her parents were pretty well-known. In spite of investigators following up on numerous leads, the woman still remains unidentified over 20 years later.

HUNTINGTON BEACH : Help in Identifying Dead Woman Asked
ORANGE COUNTY FOCUS
April 07, 1990

Authorities are asking public help in identifying a woman who was struck and killed by a car Sunday night in Huntington Beach.

The woman was not carrying identification when she was struck near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Newland Avenue at 10 p.m.

A County Sheriff's Department spokesman said the woman was white and about 18 years old, with brown hair, brown eyes and a slender build. She wore a black cotton dress, a red long-sleeve shirt, a pink sweater and had human hair wrapped around her left ring finger.

Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Carl Vidano said that the driver of the car involved in the accident immediately came forward and no foul play is suspected.

Senior Deputy Coroner Joe Luckey is seeking information, at (714) 647-7400.

I didn't see a picture? Where is that? It's interesting that she was described as "slender" vs. what we heard the coroner state as "well nourished" and apparently busty. They also didn't mention the expensive dental work. Not a homeless person for sure.

I can't see a picture either.

I noticed the "slender" too. I'm thinking that possibly "well nourished" meant "she didn't look like she'd been living on the street."

What shocks me is that a young female managed to hitchhike by herself without getting murdered or something. Does anyone know where she was staying before moving into the trailer park? I wonder if she sold her body.

The vast majority of hitchhikers reach their destinations safely after being assisted by friendly people who like giving other people a helping hand. That's why people keep doing it.

Well-nourished in medical terms typically means "not emaciated" and "not obese". She would have been a healthy, normal weight.

We've seen quite a few cases where medical examiners have used it as a euphemism for "fat."

Just looking at her face, you can see that she probably wouldn't be described as "fat", but I certainly wouldn't describe her as petite either.

Yes, this does not appear to be one of the cases where a euphemism was intended...

She was also found with a bus schedule; possible she spent all of her money on a bus getting to California

A little lightbulb just went off from your remark, and when I add in other snippets of info mentioned a possible theory becomes more clear. What if she had spent all her money to cone to California and find her birth mother? What if this mother rejected her, not wanting anything to do with her? Despondent, she creates her own mourning ring and walks in to traffic, feeling rejected lonely and alone. Perhaps she had built up a wonderful reunion in her mind for years and had that dream dashed to pieces by rejection.
Of course the birth mother wouldnt come forward. A theory only, but it seems in the realm of possibility. I think her heart was trukly broken, and she couldnt take the pain. Someone hurt her badly. Birth mother?

Although that is possible-

The people she was staying with and the other hitchhiker talked about that family meeting in the future tense. Like , 'She wanted to meet with them". I don't think with the timelines we have been presented that there was a chance for that to happen. IMHO

For my part, I don't know how true this "meeting family" story was. Maybe she did have family in the area and had a way to contact them- maybe she just had heard through the grapevine that they might be there but no name or anything to go on. Maybe the whole story was made up for sympathy. IDK, but most people that were adopted back in the day had closed adoptions, right?

If you follow Andrea's NamUs page; you know she's had a few DNA updates.
I'm pretty sure this has to do with my email to Aundria Bowman's contact. I let him know who I was & that we were still looking for Andrea's identity; see his post below. He's going to try to get them DNA compared to put it to rest. I told him he shouldn't waste his time on it; but I think the wheels were already set in motion.

Andrea's NamUs - NamUs UP # 7672

I am the Cold Case Investigator from the Michigan State Police that is working on Aundria's case. The Jane Doe in CA is not Aundria. We found usable fingerprints and compared them at the MSP lab, getting the result that they are not the same person. Also the family viewed photos of the Jane Doe from CA and stated it was not Aundria. We are still seeking information on her, as well as our other Cold Cases if anyone has information, please contact me at (email removed; it's not his email addy any more). You can view the missing persons at MP 1830'. Thanks to all those who commented. Rusty

I've actually learned a lot about adoption since I started helping Aundria's biomom. We've been going to all sorts of adoption sites trying to look for her; giving her missing persons info & putting links up to her FB page.

Yes; adoptions were closed but; some adoptees have found clues on the adoption paperwork. In Aundria's case; she knew she was named Alexis. We do not know what else she knew. We do not know if she found the adoption paperwork. We've heard that she left to find her mother. The family dynamics had changed; when she left, she went from being an only child to having a 15 month old sibling that was a natural child to her adoptive parents.

Besides her name; she may have known she was adopted in Virginia

You can read some of her story & decide for yourself what her life may have been like. Ask yourself; why would she worry about foster care?. - Renewed hope for missing persons cold cases

How I found out my daughter Aundria "Alexis" Bowman was missing

Not trying to side track Andrea's post... Aundria keeps getting mentioned; Andrea gets mentioned in Aundria's post.. This gives everyone a look into what Andrea may have known & possibly what she was feeling before she left for CA.

One thing is certain; Aundria's biomom saw Andrea's post mortem pic & knows she is not her daughter Alexis.
