It's all a matter of opinion. Patrick has been saying for years that JM wanted to find other welders. Also, I can't remember where I saw it, but somewhere in EIP's financials it showed MSM started doing the bulk of the work ....and getting paid increasingly more. With Chase getting paid substantially less. His earnings took a huge hit.

I wonder if the Feb 1st email "Chase overpaid" was a regular, say monthly communication, or maybe formalizing discussions about a gradual severance plan.

Right. You don't feel that way. And I completely respect that. But you do recognize others may feel differently.

How can Chase be considered an honest man? He has a long criminal history based upon deceit. He stole 32k worth of another welders tools. He received stolen property many times. He lied to friends and coworkers over and over.Cheated on his wife. Gambled away his kids money and pretended it was so he could 'raise the car payment.'

How is any of that 'honest' behavior?

I think it was the catalyst for the theft and the subsequent murder

I would also be interested to know to what extent MSM thought they could win all of joeys work by forcing Chase out

I'm not sure, I think Chase already had the stolen cheque stock to begin printing cheques within 45 minutes.

He was at the house on Sunday.

No. The news was not surprising, but it was new. What are the objective, verifiable indications that Joey was severing ties with Chase?

There has been testimony to that already. He had spoken of his problems with Chase and with the many complaints he had been getting. And of the MSM complaints about working with him. So there were indications that he was not satisfied with his employees work for awhile already.
And we have seen how Chase was falling down on the job, by being so financially irresponsible, and wasting money and time at the casinos.

No one seems to have questioned: the popcorn bowls, eggs, ... breakfast scene, could it be staged by the killer(s)?

Yeah the killer (IMO CM) could have staged the scene. He had days to do so. However, there wouldn't be a need/desire to stage if it was breakfast as usual on the 5th. Also, eggs are not just for breakfast.

#McStay - Court was in session for just 2 hours this morning. The trial is now in recess until....wait for it...next Wednesday, the 27th at 1:30pm.

OK. In MY example, the family only turned off their phones for a morning. The morning of Friday the 5th.

But family members and friends of the McStay testified and reacted to the disappearance as if they believed the family might leave the dogs in the care of others. Are you putting their account into question?

Didnt Chase falsely tell Susan that 'the dogs bowls' are being moved around, leading her to believe the family had asked someone to feed and water them?

But what were the McStay's habits?

From looking at the state of the home, because it was under construction and being painted, and they barely moved in, it would seem their habits were a bit loose and easy going. Coffee could easily sit all day. Eggs could easily be out on the counter. Not a surprise at all. JMO

They didn’t put their dogs into the care of others which is my point.

These dogs were abandoned outside where anything could of happened to them.

In the UK we don’t have wild animals but I’m assuming in the California you do? So not exactly safe to leave them unattended for 1 day let alone a long weekend!!

You don't have wild animals in the UK? I did not know that.

Actually in certain areas of CA we might have coyotes that have been known to grab a cat or small dog and smaller wildlife like to dig up graves and scatter bones. But Bear was a really big dog so I don't think they were in any danger ... not in that sense. But not having food, water, or any real shelter could not have been good. Especially if they were used to sleeping indoors at night.

It does feel like the Mcstay are constantly being let down by the system.

The First few years wasted on a inept police force, malicious rumours spread, Chase’s time wasting for years with him sacking lawyers, representing himself until the last possible moment and then getting new lawyers who again delayed things for years and now a trial that is a farce.
