I wonder if CM moved frequently. That would explain him not remembering his address. I forgot my address when I had recently moved. Also, I am not surprised he didn't know MSM address. I don't think he sent much correspondence through the mail to MSM.

He shipped items from that address. He likely had things shipped there as well. He had people assisting him. It's very odd that he would forget that address, it was intrinsic to the work he did.

Yes. Stress can cause memory loss. Lots of things can. I don't know why Chase is forgetting an array of things most of us would have no issue remembering, but these other factors need to be ruled out. Or at least considered. There is no reason to lie about recalling your address. I don't know what possible motive there could be for pretending to forget information like that.

He also forgets Metro Sheet Metal's address.

You're right. He shouldn't be on trial. There's absolutely no evidence that he should be on trial for these murders. I know that because his defense team said he didn't do it.

Yes. Chase forgot, and as it turns out he was at Metro Sheet Metal that morning. So it does seem very possible that Chase has issues with memory in general. He also forgot his home address in that interview, and one of the detectives who had interviewed him at another time, had to relate that information for him.

He had been living at that address for at least 9 months. It's an odd thing to forget. And he also forgets what he was doing on the the 8th, and we know from testimony that on the 8th he was at Metro mid-morning, and at home later that afternoon.

Originally, the withdrawals were just labeled as PCA and GPA. The FA did not know what that meant, and where it was being withdrawn. He thought it was a POINT OF PURCHASE withdrawals from a market etc

Since then he found it was from 2 casinos....

He has selective memory. I don't believe a word the man says. The key thing is he thinks he is smarter than everyone else. I'm convinced any trained investigator loved having someone like JM to interview. They've seen and heard it all before. As for being stressed? We all know what stress can do. He said in the interview he was tired and didn't want to take his last call. Stressed and tired? I wonder why?

He also couldn't explain why he kept referring to Joseph and 'What's her name' in the past tense. Yet, he gave a full account regarding the monies owed in the email. At least, by his account. He didn't sound at all as someone with faulty memory problems then. He was on point.

That's you. We have to look at what Chase would do.

There is a pattern of memory loss with him, and if he only forgot what he was doing on a critical day, that might be suspicious. But we now know his activity on the 8th wasn't all that suspicious. He was at work in the morning and in the afternoon he pinged towers near his home. (even if he drove the Trooper to the border, he had plenty of provable alibi to offer that might have diverted attention from him)

I can't know for certain what is going on with Chase, but all possible reasons for his lapses in memory needs to be looked at.

I'm hoping we see more about this later. I want to know what was paid in and out. The guy that testified yesterday, didn't show that, not work related anyway. From what I saw, he put the bank statements into Excel, and made some graphs lol I didn't really "watch" the testimony, but was looking at the bank statements late last night (googling away to see where some of these places were lol), he reminded me of a Dad that was trying to avoid child support payments... cashing cheques rather than depositing them. At least the court gives us a 3 day weekend, so I will have time to go back an listen and watch it all again

It's amazing what an investment in education fails to net in terms of critical thinking. A BS, plus hours of continuing education in multiple disciplines results in categorizing expenditures and a line graph! Woohoo. My analysis of that line graph showed three points where Merritt killed someone, and one point at which he was killed.

to me, the defense sounds defensive about that new gambling total

maline talking fast in high pitched voice...trying to accuse the state of asking the FA to go try and find more gambling withdrawals....

The FA says NO, he himself took another look to see who PCA and GPA were...the defense says ' the idea was to identify MORE cash withdrawals...'

FA says NO, I just wanted more complete information...

the defense is attacking the FA for asking for help from the DA to find out who PCA was.

[so what? if the info is correct, it's correct, no matter who helped him figure it out.]

Now defense is arguing that it doesn't matter what the cash totals are, but the gambling dates are essentially the same, so its no big difference...[ I disagree.]

FA replies that it is 5 or 6 different dates added...

Is your theory that Chase told San Diego investigators in 2010 that he met with Joey because Chase is so brilliant in forensics that he knew his DNA would be found on the Trooper steering wheel, and that it would be left only on certain items, and that if he was arrested his defense would suggest transfer DNA as a counter-theory---that Chase knew all that ahead of time?

If Chase had such a deep understanding of forensics, why didn't he just wipe the places he touched with bleach and be done with it? Or wear surgical gloves.

For those posing the theory that there was no lunch meeting, how do you explain the cellular evidence that is in keeping with a meeting at lunch?
