I wonder if he had a pattern of befriending younger girls in the complex...

I imagine while mourning poor MM... Some parents at that complex are now remembering contacts between their own daughters and the perp?

Perhaps this guy was on LE's radar from the outset?

Unbelievable. I am so tired of teens killing children. And just anyone hurting a child. It never crosses my mind to think of a teen. You just can't trust anyone. But how does a little child know that a teen will be a horrible monster. Very sad.

bbm. I wouldn't be surprised. In many cases (Alanna Gallagher, Jenise Wright, etc) the police had them in their sites very early on. The fact that he was arrested so soon...I really think they knew it was him already.

In this video, it says the dogs did track the scent to the beach and it showed an arrow going to the beach at the boardwalk area over 2 miles away. So were the dogs wrong? Might perp have walked there with her and back again?

Scent dogs are not always reliable.

I think they had their eyes on him, too. I'm sure they were looking at many people and possibilities, and he was among them.

Way to go, LE, for solving this quickly. It's still painful, of course, but a quick resolution is better. Thank you.

Right ! If you live or visit that area and have small kids who may have had contact, get them to a specialist for an interview to be sure your babies are ok !!!

I guess I am going to wait for a COD before I will call this kid a monster. I am hoping that he stole him moms keys and accidently hit Mady with the car and freaked.

I feel it is a longshot at this time due to reports of them being seen together..But I am still gonna try. It makes it easier to think about for now.

Official press release from the police department says she was located in a dumpster on the property and that they sealed off a residence at the complex as they are obtaining a search warrant to gather evidence. I wonder if she was kept in the residence they have sealed off and then taken to the dumpster in the middle of the night? If so it might explain why there was no more video of her outside after 5:00.

I think kids today have way too much easy access to online, sick *advertiser censored*...not playboy stuff..but gruesome, sadistic *advertiser censored*. And horrid movies with killing, mixed in with rapes, and add in hardcore horror metal music and playing video games 24/7......IT IS JUST TOO MUCH for some of their porous minds.

It is no wonder that a few of them act out in this sick, twisted macabre way...

BBM: sorry but I think it's wrong to single out metal music to blame for behaviour. Part of my thesis was on cultural influences on behaviour and rap is just as misogynistic and violent as any metal music. It may not be as explicitly obvious (at times) but rap as a genre promotes violence just as much as metal and influences behavioural norms. If you are going to blame popular music you need to blame it as a whole genre, not go back into days of blaming Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Maralyn Manson or Rob Zombie for behaviours of the listeners. You need to have someone hard wired for this kind of behaviour not just a listener of the music to get a killer. As it is we don't know what type of music the teenager listened to.

In the Jorelys Rivera case the perp lured her, took her to a vacant apartment he had access to and then later hid her remains in a trash compactor. He had been participating in the search efforts and knew when searchers had cleared each area and was able to use that knowledge to his benefit.

The apartment being sealed in this case causes me to wonder if Maddy was ever there or if it is just where he went afterwards to clean up.

We talk to kids about stranger danger. And I think most of us talk to kids about it beng adults to be wary of.

How do you explan the teen?

I always emphasized that the child never ever goes with anyone unless a parent is asked. That means even the police as there have been fake police.

Kids don't listen , though, so it is so sad

But we also teach them to be polite and respectful of other adults and people in general. Sometimes it is a tough judgment call for adults, let alone a child.

When I first saw this sad case, my mind went to both Jorelys Rivera and Jenise Wright. I was wishing I wasn't right.
